About Mark & Helen Meopham

Hi, We are Mark - a retired Police Officer and Helen- a retired Optometrist .

We purchased Avon View in August 2012.

Avon View will be first and foremost our family home.

We purchased the house because of its stunning Riverside location.

It will also allow us to keep our Narrowboat at the bottom of the Garden.

We have been living aboard our Narrowboat whilst house hunting until we found Avon View.

We have recently purchased brand new furnishings for the whole house and as it will be our home it is a high level of quality and comfort, more than you would expect from a normal rental property. We hope the pictures give you some idea of what a beautiful spot this is . When you rent Avon View we will be there to greet you and answer any questions you may have, then we jump aboard our Narrowboat and cruise down the river leaving you to enjoy your time at Avon View and we are just a phone call away if you need us.

We look forward to being able to help plan your trip.

Mark & Helen Meopham purchased this house in 2012

Stunning! Everything we had hoped for and more!!

  • 5 of 5

When you open the front door the house has a welcoming atmosphere and you immediately feel at home. The kitchen is clean and well equipped, the lounge is comfortable with nice views of the river. The beds are comfy and it is really quite lovely to see the river from your bedroom window when you first get up.

We were very impressed with the garden it is lovely with lots of colour. You can sit right at the water's edge and watch the swans and the ducks go by, very relaxing!

It is a pleasant walk along the river into Evesham where there are a few pubs and eating places. Some of the surrounding villages are well worth visiting and the house is well placed for exploring the Cotswolds.

We had a great time here, Mark and Helen are very friendly. We would definitely recommend this house.

Great property, beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

Mark and Helen were excellent communicators and outstanding hosts, besides being lovely people! Their property is a little slice of Heaven near downtown (easily walkable) Evesham. Sitting in the living room, watching the River Avon with the canoeists, swans and ducks swimming by, was such a peaceful and relaxing

experience. The accommodations were a perfect size for either a couple or a family. The kitchen was fully equipped and easy to cook in. The master bedroom bed was extremely comfortable. The Evesham area is a great “jumping off” point for visiting other towns in the Cotswolds. We highly recommend this wonderful property.

Lovely home and beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this property and it lived up to expectations. The house is right on the River Avon and there's something very relaxing and therapeutic about just staring at the river race by.

The house had more of homely feel than some holiday homes I've stayed in and was well equipped and very comfortable. The communication with the owners was very good and they were very friendly and helpful.

It's in a quiet location with excellent views, has good access to the main routes and is only a ten minute walk into the town centre.

Evesham isn't the prettiest town but still very pleasant nevertheless and is a good base for exploring the Northern parts of the Cotswolds.

I would highly recommend the property to fellow travellers!

Lovely, comfortable house with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic house and location. Perfect for riverside walks into Evesham. Mark and Helen were so helpful and accommodating and we wanted for nothing. Very well equipped house and spotlessly clean. We went in particular to fish but river conditions were such that it was challenging. Nevertheless, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

What a great place in a good location. Close to a lot of pubs and restaurants. Just watching the River Avon and the boats go by is very relaxing. It is close to a busy road but you do not hear it, good sound insulation. Nice off street parking for three or more cars. Although we did not get to meet Mark and Helen they were very quick to respond to emails or phone. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
