Hi, We are Mark - a retired Police Officer and Helen- a retired Optometrist .
We purchased Avon View in August 2012.
Avon View will be first and foremost our family home.
We purchased the house because of its stunning Riverside location.
It will also allow us to keep our Narrowboat at the bottom of the Garden.
We have been living aboard our Narrowboat whilst house hunting until we found Avon View.
We have recently purchased brand new furnishings for the whole house and as it will be our home it is a high level of quality and comfort, more than you would expect from a normal rental property. We hope the pictures give you some idea of what a beautiful spot this is . When you rent Avon View we will be there to greet you and answer any questions you may have, then we jump aboard our Narrowboat and cruise down the river leaving you to enjoy your time at Avon View and we are just a phone call away if you need us.
We look forward to being able to help plan your trip.
Mark & Helen Meopham purchased this house in 2012
The owners Mark and Helen were very understanding when we had to cancel our booking at short notice last year so it was lovely to meet them when we arrived. Avonview is very comfortable and well equiped and a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds and several surrounding counties.
Even when the weather is not great the views of the river and the park can be enjoyed from the sitting room and there is always something interesting to watch from the anglers, rowers, narrowboats and birdlifeonthe river to the dog walkers and joggers in the park.
We enjoyed our stay hugely and would recommend Avonview to anyone and hope to be back ourselves in the future.
We had a wonderful week at Avon View. The house was amazing with views over the river, very clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The location was great for travelling around the Cotswolds and further. We even made a trip to Bath for the day, which was delightful. There are a number of restuarants within walkng distance or a short taxi ride. I would recommend Avon View, whether you are just chilling or up for walking and scouting about.
Second year at the property and we'll be back. A real home from home.
The house has everything you could wish for...and more! The great location and the comfortable, modern interior make for a wonderful holiday. We so enjoyed sitting on the lovely terrace and watching the world go by on the river and in the park beyond. It's an excellent base for touring the Cotswolds and the owners are so welcoming and helpful with every aspect of your stay. We would love to return and highly recommend Avon View for a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing holiday. Our sincere thanks to Mark and Helen - the perfect hosts!
The house was very comfortable, the view incredible at all hours. It was great to have a washing and drying machine and the kitchen was complete not only with good cutlery, but also all necessary things to cook which we did every day. The location is fantastic to visit the Cotswolds, we even walked to Broadway (but came back by bus). Thank you for making our stay wonderful. Mariana and family.
This house is of a very high standard both internally and in its location. The riverside views are excellent and it is close enough to walk into Evesham. The house was well maintained, very clean and unusually well stocked with everything that is needed. The owner Mark contacted us by telephone to check that we were happy and that there were no problems. It is a relatively short drive from Evesham to many interesting locations including Stratford on Avon, the Cotswolds and Malverns. We did find the restaurants in Evesham to be less than we hoped for both in quality and range but this did not detract from the enjoyment of the holiday. Dining in, overlooking the river was a lovely experience. I would recommend this property to anyone who wishes to tour the area or just have a nice peaceful stay.
Evesham is ideally located for visiting the Cotswolds, The Malverns, Stratford-upon-Avon Shakespeares Birthplace, Worcester with its Cathedral,Tewkesbury with its Abbey and Cheltenham with its regency architecture and Festivals includingThe Cheltenham Festival Horse racing in March with the famous Gold Cup, Cheltenham is also known for the Arts and Literature.
