About Gary & Annick
I'm Gary and my partner is Annick (rimes with unique). I'm in my mid seventies and Annick is in her sixties. We both lost our spouses to cancer and were single for several years. I'm a retired commercial real estate developer that specialized, during the last 30 years of my career, in developing hotels, mainly Embassy Suites and Sheraton Suites Hotels. I also developed and re-developed several resort hotels and other specialty properties. I lived in Dallas, Tx for most of my career and developed hotels all across the US. Annick is a retired engineer who sent most of her career managing environmental projects, both for the private and public sectors. She has lived on 3 continents and made her life in the USA in the late 70s. We currently live in Morehead City, NC which is located on the East Coast of NC near Cape Lookout on the Outer Banks.We live in a gated community on a golf course and are within 3 miles of the beach.

Annick has been visiting Naples, FL for several years and absolutley loves the area, the beaches, the beauty and cleanliness of the city and the surrounding areas. I first visited Naples in the winter of 2015 and have been back several times since. I too share Annick's love of the area and the climate especialy during the winter months, November through April when it's in the 70's and 80's. It's kind of nice to be on the beach in January when the temperature is 76 in Naples and 36 degrees in NC or colder in the Mid West and the North East... We started looking for a place to buy during our last visit over the Christmas holiday's in 2016. Beach front property was totally out of the question financially. We wanted a nice 2 Br single story property in a nice gated community near the beaches. We were not interested in a condominium in a high rise building. We looked at several communities in North, East and South Naples and considered the overall location advantages of each area as well as the community and its amenities. We settled on Verona Walk for several reasons. First, it is located in Southeast Naples approximately 15 minutes from downtown Old Naples and its beautiful beaches, shopping and restaurants and it is about 12 minutes from Marco Island and all it has to offer. We also love Verona Walk, the Community of the Year in FL in 2014, and its amenities. Our property is a single story attached Villa at the end of a cul-de-sac. It's basically half of a duplex unit. We are an easy 10 minute walk to the Town Center and the pools, tennis courts, etc.

The Villa comes with full use of the resort facilities, including 2 pools, tennis courts, a full gym (24/7) etc... These amenities are a short 10 minutes walk from the Villa, along ponds and lakes. The resort is conveniently located about 12 minutes from the Marco Island beaches, and 15-20 minutes from the Naples beaches and downtown Naples. It is also near the border of the Everglades, and a 30 minutes car ride will take you to various Air Boat Tours to view the alligators and the mangroves. It is also 1 1/2 hour to the Fort Lauderdale and Miami areas via "The Alligator Alley" (I-75). The Naples area offers numerous world class golf courses, great restaurants and upscale shopping and entertainment.
