Overview

About the property

Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, sitting room, dining room, kitchen and garden

Cottage accommodation on ground and first floor includes spacious sitting room with Inglenook fireplace, separate dining room, fully fitted kitchen and sheltered walled garden to the rear overlooking the local churchyard. New tumble dryer just added to the kitchen for those wet days. On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms plus 1 twin bedded room and 2 modern bathrooms, one with basin, toilet and shower and one with bath,(with shower over), basin and toilet.

The cottage is located in Fareham's historic High Street which is lined both sides with elegant, predominantly Georgian buildings. The High Street was developed to accommodate the private residences of senior naval officers who were escaping from the hurly burly of Portsmouth and the dockyards. There is off street parking nearby for one vehicle and the cottage is within walking distance of all amenities including a wide variety of shops, local pubs and a large choice of restaurants, cinema and other entertainment venues.

Great property and location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here and liked walking to the local shops and restaurants. We also liked the easy access to the M27 and A3 to London. The house was spacious, well kept and clean, We would definitely stay here again.

Well situated for the town and for dining in the local inns. Good connections for other places by motorway or rural routes. Parking nearby, a house that would suit every ones needs.

Cosy and yet spacious getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for getting family together for Christmas. It was cosy and yet had plenty of room. Very well equipped indeed in the kitchen, comfortable and warm for a winter stay.

A lovely break in a charming English cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights in this charming Grade II listed cottage in the centre of Fareham rather than book individual rooms in a hotel whilst celebrating a family wedding in the locality. This gave us a much more relaxed atmosphere to enjoy our trip and we couldn't fault the amenities nor the location.

The cottage has a very high specification and we could find no fault at all, I would certainly recommend this rental to anybody who was planning to stay in the area.

nice cottage plenty of space. Ideal to visit portsmouth historic dockyard.

  • 4 of 5

Parking ok, but would be better if made clear that only 1 space provided in nearby car park. It would also be beneficial if there was info regarding the area eg. Doctors, supermarkets etc. Also some more information on places to visit.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Just a note, the parking situation is shown on the site you booked through. We apologise if this was an inconvenience to you but we feel by offering a parking space this is a huge benefit as so many properties are not offered with this. Will take your point about the additional information and thank you for pointing it out. We have tended to rely on the fact that the people looking after the cottage live next door and are therefore on hand to help with the information but we will include in the welcome folder in future.
