Hi and welcome, thanks for stopping by on our house. If our house ticks all your boxes, please enquire giving as much information about yourself as possible. Full name and from what country and city you are coming from so that we can verify all our enquiries are genuine. (protecting all of us) Thank you.
This is a delightful open plan family villa set in the Sintra hills looking down to the sea less than 5 kms away, not too close and not to far, just enough to be up away from the crowds and a bit cooler, which can be a real relief from the hot sun down on the beach.
While the villa catches the sun all day, there are shady areas to relax by the beautiful pool and laze about in this idyllic Sintra countryside setting. For the more adventurous there are numerous walks and mountain bike tracks to explore.
The villa has been decorated in high quality and tastefully with comfort in mind so the beds are of good quality with orthopaedic mattresses with anti allergy protectors. The sheets are of 100% cotton and down pillows and duvets to ensure your best nights sleep. The kitchen has also been made with the cook in mind so is very well equipped with a large American fridge and all the equipment you would have in your own home....even the knives are sharp ;) The bathrooms too are all state of the art with walk in showers. In the open plan sitting room there is a large L shaped leather sofa 3mts x 3mts in front of a 42inch tv with satellite receiver dvd player and a hi-fi. A wood burning fire for those winter travellers.
There are large double doors that open onto the top garden that leads down to the secluded pool where there are the sun loungers with sun shade. walking around the villa you will find a table with grape vine clad loggia that will shade you while having a relaxed barbecue lunch.
The villa is situated up from the local village of Colares which is 5kms from the world heritage site of Sintra where there are wonderful fairy tale castles and manor houses to visit. Monserate, Pena castle and Quinta da Regaleira which are an absolute must!!
The beaches of Praia do Maça and Praia Grande are perhaps our most local and are great for families so if you have some your adventurous boys/girls it is fantastic for surfing and body boarding. There are always plenty of cheap local restaurants nearby to satisfy all tastes. The likes of Guincho which is on the world circuit for windsurfers and especially Kite surf where you can see at any time no less than 50 in the water is a 10 minute drive along the coast towards Cascais, which is the fishing village/town where all the night life is to be had with lots of pubs and bars.
Lisbon is about 30kms away which is a wonderful castled city sat on seven hills with all you would expect from a modern European city, loads of restaurants and places to see and visit, a walk up to the castle area is wonderful and encapsulating all that is Portuguese . Anyway if you are looking for a good holiday this is it and whether you are whizzing around all day in the baking heat or at the villa when you return you will notice about 5 degrees cooler than in Lisbon or Cascais which you will appreciate!
If you have any requests please ask and I will tell you where you can find everything for your complete holiday.
I will email you with all directions and pointers to the amenities, restaurants etc. in the surrounding area. Please call for any further information.
