This 3 bed Victorian house is situated in Twickenham, on the River Thames, South West London, just 20 minutes by train from central London, - with all its many museums, galleries, theatres, restaurants shops and attractions. The local area has many shops, restaurants and historic attractions nearby (Hampton Court - once home to Henry VIII, Ham House and Kew Gardens - a World Heritage site - to name but a few). Whatever the weather, there are attractions and activities within easy reach to suit all ages.
The accommodation comprises:
Master bedroom (with King size bed) on it's own floor with adjacent shower room, another large bedroom single bed and double sofa bed) which doubles as a playroom with TV, DVD, Wii games, board games etc., a third double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, reception room with TV, Blueray/DVD, surround sound and log fire, fully enclosed rear garden, 2 luxurious bathrooms and a separate utility room.
As well as easy access into central London and all its many attractions, the house is close to a number of green spaces and parks. It is a 10 minute stroll to a very peaceful stretch of the River Thames for walking, cycling, hiring a boat or simply sitting outside a riverside pub and taking in the view. Attractions outside London are also within easy reach - such as Windsor Castle, Legoland and Thorpe Adventure Park.
The property is close to excellent transport links.
Twickenham train station is a 5 minute walk from the property with a journey time of 20 minutes by fast train into central London and with connections to Wimbledon, Windsor, Reading and services to the West and South of England.
Richmond train station is a 2 minute train journey from Twickenham from where the extensive London-wide tube network can be accessed.
The property is just off the A316 which leads into central London in one direction and the M3 in the other (from where you can access the M25 motorway)
There are a number of bus services running near the property.
We purchased our house in 2011 and spent a year completely refurbishing the property to make a spacious and comfortable family home. We wanted to live near the River Thames and also close to good transport links and Twickenham fitted the bill!
The property was accurately described although the family agreed that the quality of the property, its location and facilities were very much understated. Access to transport services, shops and restaurants could not have been better.
The property was well maintained and tastefuly appointed throughout. The audio-visual facilities were well used. We spent a considerable amount of the time sitting out in the garden. This made breakfasts and drinks in the evening most enjoyable.
The owner was most approachable and provided excellent service, advice and support.
We had a wonderful stay at this Twickenham home. The home was lovely, and it was apparent from our initial walk-through that the home was very clean, nicely updated and very well taken care of. The kitchen opened up to the outside terrace and gardens, which were in full bloom. Lovely place to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine at the end of our busy day. The three bedrooms were nicely appointed and the beds were comfortable. Our son's family used the second floor two bedrooms and large bathroom, while my husband and I enjoyed our private master suite up on the 3rd floor.
The home's location was a quick walk to the Twickenham train station (to get us where we needed to go in and around London and Windsor). Twickenham restaurants and grocery were just a short few blocks further. We enjoyed walking to dinner at several of the restaurants on Church St and especially our walks along the Thames afterwards.
Alison was extremely pleasant to work with before and during our stay. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at 62 Whitton Rd.
It was the first time that we had rented a property with HomeAway and from start to finish we were most impressed with the whole experience. Booking through the website was very easy, safe and secure, and the owners were extremely helpful and efficient in replying immediately to emails, welcoming us to the property, explaining all the essentials and refunding the security deposit within a day of departure. The description and photos of the house and surrounding area were perfectly accurate. In fact the house was even more beautiful, spacious, light and comfortable than the attractive pictures suggested. It was a perfect house for a family with young children, impeccably clean with all mod cons, wonderful bathrooms, comfortable beds and high quality cooking facilities. It was wonderful to come back to the peace and quiet of the house after a busy day in London. The light, airy kitchen/ dining area leading onto the little terrace and pretty garden made for very relaxing evenings and it was just perfect ok having a safe play area, both inside and outside the house, for a little toddler. We enjoyed walking by the river in Twickenham as well as visiting other places of interest nearby, such as Kew Gardens, Richmond and Hampton Court Palace. The house was a five-minute walk away from the station with frequent train services, and very close to a good supermarket, local pubs and restaurants and all the Twickenham shops, including an organic butcher and farm food shop and a wonderfully welcoming toy shop - in other words, something for everyone! We ate at home most of the time, as it was so agreeable in the large, light kitchen, but there were plenty of places nearby for eating out if we had wanted to. In short, a perfect place to combine work in London with a relaxing family holiday.
We would definitely recommend this house to other travellers. It may not be the cheapest property on offer in the London area but it's a real family home and excellent value for the added convenience and comfort it provides.
We came from Mexico city to spend 2 weeks and a half at the house and it was just perfect. The location is fantastic and the house is just beautiful. The beds are very comfortable, the house is well equipped and the place was perfectly cleaned. We highly recommend it. It is now part of beautiful memories for our family.

This is a beautiful house in very good location. Touristic highlights like Richmond Park, Hampton Court as well as downtown London are easy to reach with public transport. But also the lovely local centres of Twickenham und Richmond offer all you need for a pleasant stay in London.
The house itself is very well equipped with luxury bathrooms and a kitchen that leaves no wish unsettled. The house was new renovated, extremly well-maintained and very clean, the beds comfortable and there is even a garden that can be used including spices. The owners are friendly, forthcoming and very well organized. The rent is quite high, but this seems to be London! And there is a rather high deposit, but it was returned completely and quickly.
For our big family, this accommodation was the base for a great London experience and it was definitly worth the money. We highly recommend this property.
Pasamos una inolvidable semana del mes de Agosto en esta estupenda casa. Disfrutamos mucho del amplio comedor con cocina y del jardín. Las habitaciones, muy amplias y confortables. A destacar también la limpieza de la casa y la amabilidad de la propietaria, que además habla español y nos dio información muy útil. Nos hemos sentido como en nuestra propia casa, lástima que una semana pase tan pronto. En definitiva, es una muy buena opción para visitar Londres (está a sólo media hora en tren) y alrededores (visitamos también Oxford, a hora y media de tren).
Twickenham is located on the River Thames, neighbouring Richmond upon Thames, and has excellent transport links. It has a fast train service (20 minutes) into central London with its many attractions, as well as connections to other parts of the country.
There are a number of historical attractions close by - Ham House, Hampton Court and Windsor Castle to name but a few. There are lovely walks along the River Thames as well as many parks and green spaces including Kew Gardens (World Heritage Site) and Richmond Park.
Twickenham has its own theatre with outdoor performances in York Gardens, beside the river, in the Summer. Richmond Upon Thames has 2 theatres and cinemas.
Church Street, in the centre of Twickenham, with its many independent shops and restaurants, is closed to traffic during the summer months (weekends only) so visitors can take advantage of al fresco dining outside the many restaurants. Neighbouring Richmond also has a number of good restaurants and shops plus Petersham Nurseries with its famous restaurant is close by.
