This cosy retreat in secluded countryside sleeps 6. Interiors to die for, exteriors waiting to be explored. Escape to this bolt hole and you'll never want to leave. Angel Barn is an eco chic holiday home that's full of indulgence whilst being as sustainable as possible. With outrageously comfy beds, fantastic fabrics, lush wallpaper in the bathrooms, beautiful handmade furniture & very posh eco paint throughout, this place has been lovingly renovated to impress. A champagne hamper awaits you on arrival full of local treats and home-made goodies. Choose from supermarket delivery, local farm shop supplies or catered meals to make your stay perfect. Local Inn only 4 fields away. Walks from the door, wildlife to watch, gardens to admire, historic towns & villages to discover, explore the Lakes or the Dales for the day or simply enjoy the beauty of the barn and its surroundings. As for activities, there are lots of lovely walking routes straight from the door, with OS maps provided that have the walks highlighted. Nearby there is Cautley Spout waterfall and Smardale Gill Nature Reserve which you can walk to from Angel Barn.

Our neighbours, Stonetrail Holidays, offer horse riding (for the more experienced rider), and also mountain bike hire. They are a 5-10 minute walk from us.

Our nearest place to do a bit of fishing is Bessy Beck Trout Fishery. Both Ian & Shelley are competent instructors, if you are interested in some lessons, or you can go out on the river for a day.

Alternatively there are lots of nice places to visit including High Head Sculpture Park, Little Salkeld Water Mill, Rheged, Farfield Mill Arts & Craft Centre, Bowes Museum, a trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway, visiting historic towns or Sedbergh, Kirkby Stephen, Kirkby Lonsdale and others further a field.

Some suggested days out would be a trip on Ullswater Steamers, a beautiful peaceful lake in the North Lakes (much quieter than Lake Windermere), or a classic day drive through Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick – taking in all the key hotspots of the Lakes, or alternatively a trip to Haweswater, a truly stunning and off the beaten track place. The owners Debbie & Richard are on hand when you are here to tailor your days’ out to meet your interests.

To confirm the booking we ask for a 30% non-refundable deposit, with the remainder due 8 weeks before your stay, payable by bank transfer, cheque or credit card (1.5% charge).
