Beautiful setting for those seeking peace and relaxation
The drive from Malaga airport takes the best part of an hour. Once you have left the main road and start the last twenty minutes of the journey, climbing the winding mountain road which leads to the village of Canillas de Aceituno, it feels like you have entered a different world.
The villa is tucked away down the end of a dusty track. One is met with the most spectacular panoramic view. To one side, a little way away, is the village with it’s perfect white buildings set below the mountain of Maroma. To the other, the stunning mountains leading down to the coast, dotted with a few white villas. There is a gentle mountain breeze and the soothing sound of tinkling goat bells. The villa, landscaping, planting and pool areas are picturesque, with some perfectly designed spots to just sit and admire the view.
The villa is well equipped, clean, comfortable and charming. The kitchen has good facilities for proper cooking and the bathrooms are modern. There was excellent wifi for the kids. We did a big supermarket shop in Velez Malaga and filled the large fridge/freezer for breakfast, lunch and drinks. Then ate out in the evenings, mostly in the lovely, good value and friendly restaurants in the village. We did venture to Torre del Mar one evening which was busy, very Spanish and a fun change of scene. We also managed a trip to Nerja which has a pretty coastline and is good for a bit of tourist shopping. We spent our last day in Malaga, a beautiful city with fine shops, restaurants and plenty to see.
But, mostly we were very lazy and just took in the amazing setting and view and cooled off in the beautiful pool whilst congratulating ourselves on such a great find. Wonderful.
Beautiful villa beautiful area so peaceful and relaxing
The villa itself is beautiful and has all the home comforts you need for a comfortable stay.
The outside space is fantastic the pool is lovely and my children loved spending many happy hours playing in it.
The views from the villa are breathtaking and every direction had a different but equally stunning view. It was peaceful with only the goat bells tinkering in the distance.
The area itself is lovely and the village close to the villa was pretty, the locals were friendly and had all the amenities that you would need. We enjoyed walking round and children loved playing in the play area and we enjoyed a fantastic meal at one of the restaurants.
We hired a car which was great to see the surrounding area, we visited Granada and the caves at Nerja which were both brilliant days out. There were also several beaches to try in easy reach by car.
David was a lovely and friendly host nothing was too much trouble for him and he made us feel very welcome.
We had a fabulous week at this beautiful villa and look forward to coming back in the future.
Fabulous villa with amazing views!
The villa is a typical Spanish house, lots of dark wood and high ceilings, terracotta flooring throughout. It was immaculately clean and comfortably furnished. There are lots of different seating areas outside with amazing views over the mountains. You could hear a pin drop it was so peaceful. We arranged a taxi transfer from Malaga airport instead of hiring a car. I must admit with hindsight, even though neither myself or husband enjoy driving abroad, a car would have been beneficial. The villa is down a steep private track with no lights. Once you reach the main road, the walk to the village was about 20 minutes away, the views were breathtaking. The village was very pretty and the locals extremely friendly. We ate at La Maroma most evenings, the food was lovely and inexpensive.
Overall we had a fantastic, relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. We are much fitter too after walking to the village every night! If you want a relaxing, peaceful holiday in a beautiful part of Spain, this is the villa for you. Thank you David for letting us stay in your beautiful house.
If you want a quiet place
Very quiet place in the mountain, only surrounded by goats, a rooster, a donkey...We once saw a fox by the pool.
Fantastic view, a wonderful place.
Beautiful villa with a spacious, blooming garden
We had a very nice two weeks holiday at Villa Indalo. The view was fantastic and the village nearby friendly and authentic. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the spacious garden of the villa very much and had many nice dinners at the terrace. We also found nice restaurants from the village Canillas de Aceitono: El Bodegon de Juan Maria, La Sociedad, La Maroma.. Nerja was our favorite beach resort, Torre de mar closer not so attractive. We recommend Villa Indalo for all those who are looking for relaxation and peaceful country life.
The villa is set in the foothills of mount maroma, yet only 1 minute by car to the whitewashed village of canillas de aceituno,20 minutes by car to the town of velez Malaga where there are plenty of shopping options, and 25 minutes to the beach at torre del mar where there is also a water park for the kids.If you enjoy walking canillas de aceituno is the ideal place with many walks and trails,or if you just want to relax, stay by the pool and enjoy the summer sun.
