Il Bacio del Lupo is part of an old farmhouse or 'casa coloniale' that used to house several generations under one roof with their live stock. The house is situated in one of the most beautiful valleys around the medieval town of Todi with views on the river Tiber and medieval village Montemolino. In the 7,000 m2 property you'll find a salt water pool and a beautiful garden to relax. There are plenty of hiking opportunities at your doorstep. La Crescionda is in the middle of peace and quiet but on the other hand conveniently close to nice little restaurants, shops and markets. Beautiful cities as Todi, Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia and Gubbio are within a one hours drive range. Rome, Florence, Sienna, Montepulciano and many other gems are within 1,5 - 2 hour range by car. Whatever it is you're looking for, it is within your reach. Our property borders to an organic farm run by our good friends and neighbors where you can get fresh veggies, fruits and jams.

About Stella Bronwasser
Until 2016 we have been entrepreneurs in Brooklyn, NY before we moved back to Europe, Italy. Originally from Amsterdam, we owned a Dutch bike shop - Rolling Orange Bikes - in Brooklyn and set up a guided bike tour company Rolling Orange Bike Tours, that is still thriving under new ownership. However much we will always love the big City, we're really happy to let our roots down in this beautiful part of Italy. We purchased the house end of 2016 and set out to renovate it immediately to make it a vacation and retreat home for guests from all around the world.
Stella Bronwasser purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Stella Bronwasser chose Monte Castello di Vibio
Il Bacio del Lupo is situated in the beautiful rolling hills of Umbria so you can really enjoy peace and quiet, mesmerizing views, long walks and catching up on your reading. If you want culture though, it's also within reach. Orvieto, Perugia and Assisi are less than 45 minutes away. Medieval Todi and Monte Castello less than 15 minutes. Also nice shops and small restaurants are within a 10 minutes drive from the house. The property is an example of Italian gardens from a long time ago with mostly trees, plants and flowers that are native. It also has an intriguing dove tower from the 1700's where families used to keep doves for consumption. In our opinion we found the spot that has it all: great outdoors, an antique beautifully restored farmhouse and great culture all in one. Not to mention the great local food, wines and liquors you have access to. Our next door friends and neigbors run a organic agriculture.
What makes this Cottage unique
La Crescionda is a spacious and bright apartment with a porch and a terrace to enjoy early coffee or late nite drinks and everything in between. From your doorstep you walk straight to the salt water pool that you mostly have all to yourself. The view from your apartment and the pool on the valley and river is downright stunning. The house may be old, the inside has been renovated and been brought up to date. We furnished the home with our own furniture from all over Europe and the US. You won't find an empty nest furnished with Ikea stuff, but a home that is supposed to really make you feel at home. We only rent out one apartment. We just hope you'll love it as much as we do.

Amazing Property, Wonderful Hosts, Great Location, Good Value!!!
We have been traveling to Italy every year for 15 years, and this is one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in.
It is a very beautiful old stone house, tastefully updated with modern features (such as large walk in shower, salt water pool). Overall the accommodations were very spacious, yet cozy. The master bed was a true double (rather than twins pushed together), and extremely comfortable. You could actually fit quite a few people in the house, but it didn't feel too big for just the two of us, either. One of the things we really liked about the house is that there were all sort of nooks to settle into, so that you didn't feel all on top of each other. The view from the property is of the breathtaking rolling hills of Umbria. It is especially nice to enjoy a sunrise or sunset by the pool. The property is centrally located and we found it easy to get to all of our day trip destinations in an hour or less. There is a large supermarket 5-10 minutes away if you need snacks or would like to eat in.
Stella and Marc were perfect hosts, friendly and available if needed (or just to chat), but also low key if you prefer to be left alone. They have two adorable and friendly cats we enjoyed (but if you are allergic, don't worry, they are not allowed in the rental property). They also had thoughtful recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to dine at (true local gems).
We would highly recommend this property to anyone and plan to stay again many times in the future.
Mille grazie. We're very happy to have hosted you. You have been wonderful guests. Please come back. Un abraccio, Marc & Stella
Attention to detail, and stunning views.
The owners of this property have carefully considered the needs of the traveller, and the house is really lovely. Lots of attention to detail. The swimming pool which has uninterrupted views of the countryside is fantastic. The pool is nearly new, and again, thought has been given to this facility. Shade is available for those not wishing to sit in the sun.
The owners live in the adjoining property and are on hand to offer any advice.
If you are looking for peace and tranquility as well as great views this is a perfect choice.
A wonderful retreat in the Umbrian hills, with stunning views from saltwater pool
We had a lovely stay in the charming and character-full Umbrian farmhouse. The stand-out feature was the lovely saltwater pool, with amazing views of hilltop villages. The apartment was quirky and true to the old farmhouse. Stella and Marc were unobtrusive but helpful, organising daytime shade for outdoor eating and space in their fridge (ours was v small). It was super hot while we were there, so we didn’t venture far, but it was easy to get to lovely places like Todi, Perugia and (especially)Orvieto. Mostly, we enjoyed playing cards and swimming by the ruined tower with the chickens. Not forgetting Stella’s terrific homemade bread. Thank you for a relaxing and beautiful Umbrian holiday.
Hi Tara, it was so nice to have you as our guests. I’m happy you enjoyed your stay. Have a lovely summer.
Beautiful setting, wonderful views, comfortable cottage
We had a very happy fortnight. Greatly enjoyed the magical pool and setting. Stella and Marc were friendly perfect hosts providing useful information when required and privacy. We would love to return.
The perfect Umbrian getaway
You couldn't ask for better hosts than Stella and Marc. We received a warm welcome up our arrival. The house is beautifully furnished in shabby chic style. The view from the pool area is everything that you'd expect in southern Umbria, a hilltop village, look to the left and you see another one! Stunning views indeed. The pool itself is fantastic. Todi is under 10 minutes by car. The EMI supermarket is superb and only 6-7 minutes away. If you plan to bring a bike, please be prepared for "white roads". This isn't really the place for road bikes and skinny tyres, the last kilometre of the journey to the house is on white roads infact. Adventure bikes or mountain bikes are the way to go here. It's a lovely place. We really miss the pool! Thanks to Stella and Marc for a great week.
Rustic charm in a brilliant location.
Comfortable accommodation furnished in an eclectic, rustic style.
Owners friendly and most helpful but not intrusive.
Pool with astounding views and beautifully maintained.
Within a short drive of many excellent restaurants.
We're within one hour's drive of Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Spello, Spoleto, etc. and less than 2 hours of Rome, Florence, Montepulciano, Siena and Pisa.
There are two cats on the premises. They are not allowed to go into your apartment.
