The winding course of the River Orne is a paradise for water-borne exploration, where canoeing fans or anglers taking pike, trout or perch are in their element.

The pleasures of La Suisse Normande extend a long way beyond its rivers... hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers enjoy its high ground, while rock-climbing experts head for the rocks in the Clecy Parks.

Normandy is a heaven for food lovers and visitors seeking authentic culinary experiences. Apples feature heavily in the local traditional drinks. Normandy’s cheese board is of the most impressive in France, produced in a variety of different shapes and sizes, Camembert, Pont-L’Evêque and Livarot.... Het was super!!

Hallo Dominique,

De woning was geweldig, ontbijten aan de grote tafel onder de boom,

Natuurlijk genieten van het zwembad met mooi terras en s’avonds relaxen o de lounge stoelen.

Clecy vonden we heel charmant en de bakkerij daar top!

Wow! Stunning, property with complete privacy!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place! As another reviewer said, the photos really do not do it justice. It's a huge property, beautifully and artistically restored and decorated! Yet, apart from on the staircase (where he would be carried) there was very little within our 1 year olds reach so we weren't constantly worried about him breaking things. Also we were a bit worried about keeping him away from the stairs, but you can close the kitchen/ bedroom doors to block access to the stairs.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mme. Juin who was very friendly and showed us where everything was in the house.

The kitchen was very well equipped with high end appliances, we cooked a lot and found every utensil we needed. One small but very useful addition would be an electric kettle for us tea drinkers, rather than having to boil the kettle on the hob. The downstairs toilet was very handy, we hadn't realised there was a toilet on the ground floor.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautiful and enormous! All of the beds were very large and very comfortable. Myself, my husband and our 3 children all slept on the 2nd floor and shared a bathroom, our toddler slept in a good quality cot bed with a comfortable mattress.

The living room was cosy with comfortable sofas, although it would have been nice to have a tv in the living room and not just in the master bedroom.

The swimming pool was a huge hit! We swam every day, the pool is large and warm and access can be completely blocked off from children.

The grounds were very large, our older children loved playing outside, spotting birds of prey, woodpeckers, swallows, lizards, grasshoppers and a toad!

The house is completely private and not overlooked yet you are only a couple of minutes drive from beautiful Clecy.

Clecy town centre has some lovely small shops and a few restaurants, most looking on to a pretty square. There are plenty of activities near by, we took the children climbing, canoeing, to the luge and miniature railway museum, all just a couple of minutes away by car.

They also did a pony grooming and ride which was a bargain at €14 for nearly 2 hours at La Cour Anteol. A bit further away, we spent a lovely day at Omaha beach.

It would have been really great if the wifi connection was better, it was a little disappointing that we could not access wifi in the living room.

I would highly recommend this property, Dominque, the owner, was helpful and answered our enquiries very quickly.

Possibly the nicest spot on earth

  • 5 of 5

La Pelleterie is Normandy holiday perfection. The authentic, but modernized, farm house and outbuildings are located in a completely private and beautiful country setting. The swimming pool is under cover in the renovated barn and we enjoyed both sunny and rainy days there. The house is so well designed and has many conveniences. The property is perfectly situated to nearly all of the Normandy attractions. It is within a half mile of lovely restaurants and boat rentals yet none of that can be seen or heard from the house. It is a picturesque one mile walk to the village of Clecy for baked goods and groceries. We have rented dozens of homes in a variety of locations and this home was certainly a favorite!

Un séjour reposant dans un petit coin de paradis!

  • 5 of 5

Rural retreat with the WOW factor!!

  • 5 of 5

It is rare that the pictures of a rental property do not do the property justice, but this is certainly the case for this property.

This amazingly restored building is set in a wonderful rural location.

We were a party of 8 with two children, who loved having their own floor to themselves. As well as the lovely pool.

With so much space we were able to play games, BBQ and drink in the lovely evening sun, making wonderful memories.

The surrounding area has plenty to do, with river boats, a lovely local town with a bakery which we visited everyday for fresh bread and croissants.

Stylish interior decor with high quality fixtures

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful vacation home with swimming pool and incredibly spacious interior with high end fixtures and set in a lovely quiet area made this a delightful short stay .

I cannot emphasise enough how relaxing and interesting our stay was. The lady who cleans gave the warmest of welcomes despite having very little English and made sure we knew where everything was including a bottle of the local perry chilling in the fridge which we enjoyed sat outside in the balmy evening .

The bedrooms are well appointed and the master bedroom is like a bungalow in the size of it and the size of the bathroom also incredible just a lovely space to be in .

The area also has loads of interest and if you venture further afield le Mont St. Michel is a must to visit but avoid weekends as very busy

Cannot wait to return and if you are lucky enough to find this wonderful

Property you will not be disappointed

Owner's Response: Many Thanks for your review Charles. Indeed the couple in charge of welcoming our clients is unanimely loved ! They do their best to satisfy our visitors, having a lot of little intentions that make any stay as pleasant as possible. Even if they do not live on the property, they are always happy to help. I am so glad to read a review like this one ! They deserve it. Thank you.
