This was a great house with everything you might need for a comfortable home from home. The views were lovely especially on a sunny day! The only downside for us was there was nowhere to walk with our Labrador dogs off lead. There are no beaches as such around Menai Bridge so we had to drive to one for their morning walk. But their are lots of pubs, cafe, little shops etc all within walking distance and a handy Waitrose supermarket a 5 min drive away. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Bring dishwasher tablets and toilet roll as these can run out if you stay more than a couple of days.
Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your short stay. There is a lovely walk alongside the straits where the walk takes you to a small church island. We frequently pass numerous walkers with their dogs on this path and there is a small tourist leaflet at the house which suggests the various walks that can be taken even along the straits. Perhaps next time you might be able to locate them. David and Pat
Cosy, clean, comfortable, stunning views and great location.
Beautiful views, particularly from main bedroom. Really comfy bed in main bedroom. Great shower. Toasty warm even in wild windy weather. Parking for 2 cars. Great location for exploring Anglesey. Had some fabulous meals at Dylan’s almost next door. We will be back.
So very pleased you had such an enjoyable stay even when the weather was not so favourable.... yes it is a beautiful place and look forward to welcoming you back to BRYN y Mor again. David and Pat
It was fine
Thank you for denoting five stars when your holiday was curtailed due to a sad bereavement on this, your second visit. Once again , our condolences. David
Really good, Warm and comfortable over Christmas, good location with views over Menai Straight
We were fortunate enough to be able to stay over Christmas to see family. The house was warm and toastie, and we love the views out over the Menai Straight as we are from a family who enjoy been on the water in boats / sailing dinghies. Local restaurants and Pubs were mostly open so we could enjoy days with lunches & dinners out as well.
We will be more than happy to re book Bryn Y Mor again in the future.
So good to hear you enjoyed your brief stay at Bryn y Mor, and to hear that Christmas was special with your relatives, on the island . Please let us know if you wish to stay again and hopefully we can arrange it. Happy new year. David and pat
Wonderful Place to Stay and Visit the Menai Bridge area
Everything was perfect. From the off-street parking, nice clean accommodations, back yard has three bird-feeders attracting many birds. Sunny the first day, so we sat outside and basked in the sunshine around the outside table and watched the birds feed. Brought our own CDS and listened to music (there is also some music CDs in the home). Comfortable bed. Watched the tides change from the bedroom or living room window. Roomy shower, and a separate tub for those bath lovers. The gas stove was nice to cook on. The location is so close to restaurants, town and all sorts of old public paths for exploring the area, which we absolutely LOVED. We had a few days where the weather turned cold and we needed to keep the heat on, but the thermostat was on a timer and came on only at a certain time and then automatically shut off until the next cycle. (Wouldn't have even noticed if the outside temperature hadn't dropped). Otherwise, this is definitely a 5 star place. I do recommend!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review and so sorry we could not personally welcome you as we were away. We have spent many hours watching the birds come and feed their young chicks from the comfortable seating opposite, and like you been mesmerised by the tides on the straits. Hopefully you will come back and visit Anglesey again when the weather might be kinder. Kind regards Pat and David
My wife, kids and I had a fabulous time in Anglesey staying in Menai Bridge at this wonderful house.
The location is superb beside the water and lots of excellent pubs, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.
I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely house to anyone looking for a welcoming place to stay in Anglesey.
Thank you for your review and really pleased you had a wonderful week in Anglesey, please do get in touch if you wish to visit the area again, and thank you for your remarks in the visitors book. Kind regards Pat and David
The delightful semi-detached property is ideally and centrally situated for exploring the Isle of Anglesey and the Llyn peninsular. The house is near the banks of the Menai straits and no more than a ten minute walk to the famous and wonderful Thomas Telford creation, the Menai Suspension bridge. The centre of the village is a two minute walk away with shops and pubs and restaurants and take-aways, all within easy walking distance.
The area is perfect for all water sport enthusiasts, where you can experience sand surfing, snorkelling, windsurfing and kite surfing or discover the wonderful little coves in the many wonderful beaches that surround this island. The 'ribride' booking office is literally just down the road.
Within a few short miles is Beaumaris with its walled, most technically perfect medieval castle in Britain and ancient jail as well as numerous old pubs, narrow streets, shops and waterfront.
Other local attractions include Llanfairpwll, known locally as Llanfair PG which has the longest name in the country, Plas Newydd, the traditional home of the Marques of Anglesey; Pili Palas the Butterfly, Bird and Minibeasts' Centre; Anglesey Sea Zoo; Foel Farm Park and also Puffin Island with its cruises.
With the wonderful backdrop of the Snowdonia mountains in the distance, Anglesey is truly a beautiful island, to visit at any time of the year. So why not make that trip?
Over the bridge and into the Llyn peninsular is Caernarvon, with its huge square at the heart of the town and another walled castle which was designed to echo the walls of Constantinople, the imperial power of Rome.
