About the property

3 bedroom semi-detached house

The accommodation comprises of hallway with a light and airy lounge off it to the front, which has a 37' flat screen TV with freeview channels and a DVD player: dining room which overlooks the garden, and a fully fitted kitchen to the rear. Upstairs is the master bedroom to the front which has fantastic views over the Menai straits, with King-size bed, Bedroom 2 has a double bed, and a single bed in bedroom 3, again with a front view. The large bathroom with a sizeable separate shower unit is also on the first floor. The front has a 'pull in' for parking and to the rear is a patio area and a long garden.

Opposite the house is a small park where one can sit near the pier and watch boats of all kinds riding the tides. This view is also similar from the front bedrooms.

Literally a stone's throw away from the front door and also overlooking the Straits is a new restaurant named 'Dylans' which serves a wide assortment of gastronomic delights, as does the 'Liverpool Arms' just around the corner, which also sells a variety of draught beers. Further along is The Auckland pub and The Buckley is the pub in the village square. Turn left here and walk halfway towards the bridge you will find The Victoria Hotel. Then almost next to the bridge are two more restaurants, The Bridge Inn and over the road The Anglesey Arms Hotel, where Waitrose is also almost next door.

Brilliant house with lovely views over the Menai strait

  • 5 of 5

This the second visit for us and yet again we had a lovely break. Easy access to Bangor and the uni. All you need is in the house for a perfect break.Walked along the pathway under Menai bridge to the old church along the strait. Beautiful scenery. Had a scrumptious meal at Dylans literally a few steps away from the house and enjoyed watching the boats pass by. Looking forward to another visit again soon.

A lovely house, home from home. Perfect location.

Everything you need in a holiday rental. Settled in immediately and lots of useful info provided on what to do and where to go in Anglesey. We packed lots in and made the most of the great local pubs, and Dylan's. Rib Ride was fantastic. Will definitely visit again and stay at Bryn y Mor.

Great Anglesey location and beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We found this home very spacious, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. When we had confusion about the washing machine settings they were quickly responsive and were able to remedy the problem.

The house looks out over Manai straight and a garden. It's very quiet and there are walks along the water. There are many outings that are a short drive in either direction. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to request booking again.

Lovely house in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Easy to find and great having the parking bay to pull into off the road. It can accommodate two cars easily.

Lovely views over the Menai Starits.

The property was lovely and clean and well appointed. Everything was working well in the kitchen and was well supplied with crockery, pots and utensils. Lovely big bathroom. Wifi worked a treat and managed three connections without problems.

We enjoyed a lovely family dinner at Dylans at the bottom of the road. We booked a week in advance and were delighted that we had been allocated a window table upstairs. Great food and great service and the restaurant was full.

Had a lovely day at Plas Newydd. We enjoyed a walk in Newborough Warren (we parked by the marram grass sculture for free) and walked down to the sea and back. We also enjoyed a walk out to and around Llanddwyn island but this time parking in the car park by the sea (single charge £4 for the day). Had a good birdwatching morning at South Stack (saw the first two puffins of the year) and followed it with lunch at the White Eagle.

Also did some birdwatching in the Malltraeth estuary.

Closer to the house, the walk around Church Island is very relaxing.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for this review. It's so nice to hear where our visitors visit and also the things that draw people to this lovely island. Quite recently I made daily walks along towards the bridge to see an oyster catcher rearing her chick. Stood pretty close on the road and it was lovely to watch and see it grow. So yes there is a lot to see here. Hope we can help you next time.pat and David.

The delightful semi-detached property is ideally and centrally situated for exploring the Isle of Anglesey and the Llyn peninsular. The house is near the banks of the Menai straits and no more than a ten minute walk to the famous and wonderful Thomas Telford creation, the Menai Suspension bridge. The centre of the village is a two minute walk away with shops and pubs and restaurants and take-away, all within easy walking distance.

The area is perfect for all water sport enthusiasts, where you can experience sand surfing, snorkelling, windsurfing and kite surfing or discover the wonderful little coves in the many wonderful beaches that surround this island.

Within a few short miles is Beaumaris with its walled, most technically perfect medieval castle in Britain and ancient jail as well as numerous old pubs, narrow streets, shops and waterfront.

Other local attractions include Llanfairpwll, known locally as Llanfair PG which has the longest name in the country, Plas Newydd, the traditional home of the Marques of Anglesey; Pili Palas the Butterfly, Bird and Minibeasts' Centre; Anglesey Sea Zoo; Foel Farm Park and also Puffin Island with its cruises.

With the wonderful backdrop of the Snowdonia mountains in the distance, Anglesey is truly a beautiful island, to visit at any time of the year. Why not make that trip.

Over the bridge and into the Llyn peninsular is Caernarvon, with its huge square at the heart of the town and another walled castle which was designed to echo the walls of Constantinople, the imperial power of Rome.
