Perfect Condo at Big White!
Thank you for our amazing stay last week at your condo. We were a group of 9 (adults and kids) and this was our favorite vacation together yet! The condo was so big, nicely decorated and well equipped. The layout was superb with the garage/ski locker on the 1st floor, pool table/tv living room (kids hang out area) on the 2nd floor and bedrooms/kitchen/hot tub on the 3rd floor. The kitchen had everything we possibly needed to cook gourmet every night. I also really enjoyed the steam room in the shower of 1 of the 2 Master Bedrooms. The views from the hot tub were so serene. The condo location was great. For skiing, you just had to walk about a block and you are on the mountain skiing down to the lifts. To get into the main village, you can walk 15 minutes on a path or there is also a free shuttle than runs every 30 min that you can hop on (right across the street from the condo) that takes you right into the village too. We could not have had a better stay! Thank you for everything, for always responding quickly and for making our Spring Break fabulous! Thank you!
Beautiful chalet for a perfect ski week
We are a group of 10 adults that travel together often, and we know what we like when it comes to selecting a place to stay. We look for a place that feels warm and comfortable, that has lots of room to spread out for those who wish to read, play games, do a puzzle, or cook (when not skiing of course!). Northern Lights was superb on all counts. We were surprised that it is even larger than the photos make it seem. It is beautifully decorated like it is somebody's home, rather than something minimal designed for in-and-out renters.
The kitchen is key for us, as we are all foodies that love to cook and especially bake. It is well equipped (even with heavy duty kitchenaid cookie sheets, which got their fair share of use), and another pleasant surprise was that the cupboards contained all sorts of things like spices, baking ingredients, and the like, many apparently left by prior people like us. The kitchen is a good enough size, with a practical layout, meaning that our "too many cooks in the kitchen" weren't tripping over each other. If only it had a second small sink - but that's something we think every kitchen on the planet should have, and it didn't slow us down.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and quiet. The games room downstairs is lots of fun, particularly the pool table. That room also works as a bedroom - we had one person on an airbed and they were very happy with it. The hot tub and view are ideal.
Others have mentioned the boot room on the ground level. Clearly whoever designed it is a skier. Hooks and shelves for all the gear, boot dryer that looks like a hot air blowing octopus, and enough benches for all 10 of us to put our gear on at once. Then you walk straight out thru the garage, put on your skis, cross the street and glide down the next street to the Ridge Rocket/Snow Ghost chairs.
I'm sure there are other lovely chalets at Big White. But we won't spend our valuable time looking for them - we'd rather come back to this one. Thanks go to the owners for sharing this wonderful chalet with us.
Beautiful and Spacious, with convenient access to Big White village.
We were three families (6 adults and 4 children). Each couple had their own bedroom while the children loved sharing the room with the two bunk beds. There was parking for all three cars including a spot in the garage.
The village shuttle was very convenient for the little ones! The shuttle stop is across the street and drops everyone off at village center, directly below the Kids Center/lesson area. Alternatively, it's very easy to ski in/out. The location was perfect for peace and quiet, with a view of the valley below.
The place is better than the pictures. The home was clean and very well maintained with everything needed for a multi-family stay. The kitchen was large and well stocked. Everyone enjoyed the hot-tub and pool table. The large ski/gear room with heaters to dry everyone's gear was a nice bonus!
We were two families totaling eight people. The two floor setup was perfect. Kids got to play in the rec room below while adults could be upstairs enjoying a relaxing evening by the fire. The kitchen is well stock with dishes, utensils, serving bowls and trays for nightly preparation of apps and meals. Great selection of spices. Coming home at the end of each ski day to the hot tub was one of the highlights of our trip. Rooms are cozy and the overall chalet spacious and well maintained. Loads of room for all. Ski in and ski out worked very well. We have already booked for next year!!
Beautiful as pictured
The house was as nice as it looked in the photos, very spacious. We had 12 people and there was enough room for everyone to hang out/ sleep/ hot tub/ use bathrooms all very comfortably. The dry room for ski gear is an awesome feature - lots of room, everything warm and dry, and on ground level. I would rent again if we had a big group.
The only knock against the place was having to take our own garbage/recycling at the end of the stay. It is a hassle when you have all of your ski gear and I think it could be covered by the cleaning fee.
Great place to stay!
We loved this property and Trevor was a great host! We went up for New Years 2018/2019 and loved that there were so many bedrooms as well as an upstairs living room and a downstairs rec room. This gave us the ability to socialize upstairs and yet still have a place for people to escape to when they wanted a break. There is a pool table and the place is stocked with puzzles and games. The dining room table is right next to the island and chairs so we could all sit down and eat at the same time which I love. The location to the ski hill was also great as we just walked a few hundred meters to start skiing and could ski out right to the chateau! The hot tub was also great and we could see fireworks going off on New Years eve. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely try to go back. Trevor was always quick to respond and a great host. 6/5 stars!
You can buy food on the mountain, although its cheaper to stock up in Kelowna before you drive up.
