About this property

Private pool, boat dock & screened porches - 1.5 blocks to public beach access.

Our beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath beach house with a covered boat dock and saltwater pool overlooks the first of three canals leading to Alligator Harbor and the Gulf -- the perfect spot for paddle boarding, fishing, and kayaking, or escaping to unplug and relax. Our home is located on a child friendly dead end street with a wood fenced in backyard.

Our 15' x 30' saltwater pool surrounded by a huge open deck, with locking gates at both entrances, is the perfect place to completely unwind and create new memories. The water is usually warm enough to swim from March through mid-October.

One of the only three public beach access points is less than a block and a half from home, and we provide a wheeled fishing cart and cooler to get you there with ease. Assorted coolers, kids beach toys, and lifejackets are available as well. A delightful hot/cold outdoor lighted shower will wash off the sand and surf before you plunge back into the pool.

Our dock offers running water, a fish cleaning station, power, lights, and a peaceful place to watch the blue herons, white egrets, and bald eagles. Cast your net for a mullet dinner, catch live bait for fishing, or bait up and toss out the provided blue crab traps. The kids will love catching crabs, and you'll love eating them.

With a dock for your boat or one you decide to rent, beach access just steps away, and a gorgeous private pool, it's no surprise that many guests return year after year.

Two long screened in porches with ceiling fans and gulf and bay breezes makes reclining on the day bed or eating outside inviting and bug free. Having screened in porches in Florida are a must! Sliding glass doors on all four corners of the house give you a wonderful cross breeze in spring and fall along with wonderful views year round.

We offer a wall-mounted swinging arm 55" screen in the living room/dining room/kitchen, and another large smart TV downstairs. Wireless internet, ethernet cable, and HDMI connection available for high speed gaming access and movie downloads on your Apple TV or game system. If you need to work or attend classes remotely, we've got you covered.

Free standing small ice machine provides roughly 150 lbs of ice per day. No more trips to the store for enough ice to take to the beach - fill your cooler and when you return you'll have plenty of ice for cocktail hour.

Start each day with breakfast seating for 8 on the screened in front porch and a walk on the beach hunting for shells. Ride bikes down to the Tiki Bar, hit the hiking trails in Bald Point, grab a camera for birding in St. Marks, go shopping in Apalachicola, or take the kids to the outdoor Gulf Specimen Marine Lab & Aquarium in Panacea. After a swim and sand castle building at the beach, wrap up the day with a dip in the pool and cocktails on the screened in back porch at sunset, then toss your catch of the day on the gas grill.

Breathe in the aroma of blooming flowers and pine scented salt air, and let Alligator Point work its' magic on your soul. It's the perfect place for your much needed getaway.

Let ''Bottoms Up'' be your next family vacation paradise.

A fab location for a relaxing getaway
This was our first time to Alligator Point and we were certainly not disappointed with 'Bottoms Up' - it was such a lovely homely welcoming place to stay. It had everything you would need for a relaxing beach vacation. We used the pool area daily, either soaking up the sun on the comfortable loungers or taking a dip in the lovely warm pool. Our favourite spot, however, was the back porch, especially the day bed, which had we been able to fit it in our suitcase, would have come home with us! Linda was great to deal with providing us with ample information prior to and during our stay. She was quick to respond to any questions/queries we had and we would have no hesitation booking a return trip. We loved Alligator Point but it was our choice in holiday accommodation that made it peaceful, chilled and memorable. Thanks Linda

Linda grew up on Lake Michigan, and graduated from Michigan - Go Blue - and 25 years ago worked as a commercial fisherman in Hawaii. Currently, she produces commercials, TV series, and independent features in Atlanta. She's a member of the Producers Guild of America and Film Fatales, and sits on the executive boards of Georgia Production Partnership and Atlanta Film Society, running their prestigious PA Academy training bootcamp for entry level filmmakers. After spending 5 months in Alligator Point a few years ago shooting a documentary on commercial fishing, she realized life is too short so she's doing more of what she loves...fishing, casting a net, and telling southern stories. J.D Taylor works as a Director and 1st Assistant Director, and is a member of the Directors Guild of America. He completed 6 seasons of MTV's hit series Teen Wolf and the just released Teen Wolf the movie. His feature films available to rent are Rise - the life story of the Antetokounmpos brothers playing in the NBA, American Underdog - the Kurt Warner story, Safety - a Clemson football movie and Emperor, based on the life story of Shields Green. He grew up just around the corner in Shell Point and in Tallahassee, graduating in the first film school class at Florida State University. As a story teller himself, he's drawn to the amazing characters, culture and history of the area, as well as the natural beauty of the pines running right up to the gulf. He worked at Barnacle Bill's in Tallahassee for years and has the oyster shucking scars to prove it! Both are thrilled to own a home in Alligator Point and share it's beauty with others.

Why they chose this property

Linda and JD have been vacationing / fishing in Alligator Harbor and the surrounding area for over 20 years and renting a home along the same canal in Alligator Point for almost a decade. As avid fishermen with their own small boat, the idea of their own home with a dock on the canal was too good to pass up. And with a pool and those gorgeous porches, they jumped at the chance to own their own little piece of paradise when Ms Faye put this on the market. JD loves to fish, but Linda really loves to fish, harvesting enough seafood every spring and fall for the entire year. If she's not too busy casting net for shrimp, catching mackerel for sashimi, smoking trout, fighting red fish, scalloping and harvesting crabs, she might just finish her documentary. And one day might start Linda's Fish Camp! This little part of paradise is the best stress relief they know...just driving over the bridge from Panacea to Alligator Point you'll feel the change happen. Alligator Point is magical, from the sandy beaches to the pine trees, and they love sharing the magic.

What makes this property unique

Alligator Point is an incredibly quiet and visually stunning place along the "Forgotten Coast" of old north Florida. If you're looking for all night parties and pandemonium, keep driving west to Panama City. If you want to get away from the crowds and shake off the stress of life, you've come to the right spot. Great for fishing, kayaking, scalloping, hiking, birding, and more...or just doing nothing. And after a long hot day of fishing, hiking, or paddling, the pool, which is one of a kind, is the best thing going on the point. Grab some dinner or drinks at the tiki bar, then kick back and enjoy the stars from the pool deck or porches. With minimal to no light pollution, you'll see the milky way and billions of stars on a clear night. Nothing like a late night walk on the beach to recharge your batteries and fill your soul.
