Santa Brigida is at an altitude of between 15 and 20 Km. It is a rural, conservation and designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Capalla Di Santa Brigida which dates back to 1425 at the base of Monte Faudo is a must-see, important historical feature of the area for those interested in early Romanesque architecture.
The Old Bridge Trail Santa Brigida is a charming circular walk through the chestnut and oak trees, with views of the Mediterranian. The walk is well signposted and it covers an area that includes the villages of Dolcedo and Piertrabruna. Along the way, you can enjoy several rock pools and marvel at the old stone 'caselle' which are drystone dwellings used by shepherds and at the old stone bridges built in the early 800.
The house, situated in therapeutic, quiet surroundings, boasts a background soundtrack of woodpeckers and crickets. The area is alive with indigenous wildlife where if fortunate you will occasionally see deer, wild boar, fox, badgers, weasels, moles, beech marten, Peregrine Falcons and Lacerta bilineata... more commonly known as the Western green lizard.
