Why M chose Edinburgh

I bought this property as it is in a Great local area where you can Walk into The City Centre in 10/15 Minutes going up The Vibrant Broughton Street and all it has to offer. It has lively bars, eclectic little shops, bakeries, famous butcher, lovely restaurants and at the top of this street you are in The City Centre.

It is also a short walk going the opposite way from town to Canonmills where there are many lovely cafes, bars and shops and you can also walk by The Water of Leith.

The Royal Botanic Gardens is nearby where you can have wonderful walks and there is a Cafe there with Home made Goodies if you feel like a little refreshment.

A 10 minutes Walk from there is the celebrated little village of Stockbridge again with many Bars, cafes Deli's and small shops.

Great flat close to all the sights in Edinburgh

Very nice flat between Leith and central Edinburgh. We stayed 3 nights and arrived on a Saturday. That night was a little noisy as the flat is ground floor and other tenants in the building were in and out until very late for smoking, standing outside our window talking. Sunday & Monday nights were no problem though.

The flat itself was charming and a decent size for 2. Moira was lovely to deal with for Edinburgh info and about the flat. Would recommend for couples.

Great visit to Edinburgh.

We had a lovely time and the flat provided a great base for getting around and is in walking distance to the centre of the city. We came across some good restaurants and convenient places to eat along the way into Princes Street. The flat really worked for us and we got to do everything that we wanted. The existence of a supermakrket in walking distance was a bonus. Thanks for a lovely break in a beauty city.

well located for the fringe and friendly host but very noisy

First, Moira was great, very helpful in making sure we could check in and still make our first show on our arrival day as part of the fringe and quick to bring items which were missing and help with hot water problems. It also has very good wi-fi which is useful during the festival to book tickets etc.

The flat itself though is not quiet. It is a ground floor flat next to a very busy road which meant there is always traffic noise, even on a Sunday.

It also isn't the most comfortable place to relax, it is very pleasantly decorated but the sofa isn't comfortable as is a sagging sofa bed which means the cushions sit too low in the sofa.

The kitchen is also very poorly equipped and clearly never really used. We had to request a bread knife so we could have toast for breakfast and struggled to make the oven work

Moira is great and this is fantastic if all you need is to crash (assuming you can cope with traffic noise or use earplugs). If you want a comfortable space to also hang out this isn't really the flat.

This cute little apartment had everything we needed for a fantastic week in Edinburgh. We were in town for the Fringe and it really helped to make our stay as enjoyable as it was. We would wholeheartedly recommend booking and this will be our first port of call should we return to the city.

The Apartment is ideally located for exploring Edinburgh and the many Historic sites & places of interest to Visitors to Edinburgh.

The Apartment is close to great local amenities in the Broughton Street/ Canonmills area of town just north of Princes Street- an 8 minutes walk to Broughton Street or the Botanic Gardens in the opposite direction or a 15-20 minutes walk to Princes Street and the train station.

Parking is free within a 2 minute walk Apartment - a huge plus to be so close to The City Centre

The immediate area boasts a large supermarket within a 5 minute walk as well as Broughton Street with its many cafés, bars, restaurants and speciality shops within an 8 minute walk.

The many city centre attractions such as the Castle and Royal Mile are within easy walking distance

Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament building are both within two minutes walk. Edinburgh castle, at the top of the Royal Mile is St Giles Cathedral. Other attractions are Dynamic Earth; the Museum of Edinburgh; the Peoples’ Story; Canongate Kirk; and the Museum of Childhood.

All of central Edinburgh is within easy walking distance, including the National Museum of Scotland, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Scotland.

Most International Festival and Fringe venues are equally accessible – the Pleasance Courtyard and the Fringe Box Office in George Street.

Of course, Edinburgh has many other events to offer: Science festival (April), Film Festival (June), Jazz & Blues Festival (July), the Military Tattoo, Book Festival, Mela (August) and a number of others. And the Edinburgh Marathon in May!

There are various Edinburgh Bus Tours, departing from Waverley Bridge Daily. Edinburgh airport is approximately 13 km from the town centre, and is served by a number of major and budget airlines, including Ryanair, easyjet, Flybe and Jet2 as well as major airlines such as BA, BMI and Air France. The apartment is easily accessible from the airport by Taxi, approx £15-20 (but is the most direct and cost effective if there are between 2- 4 Passengers) If arriving into Edinburgh buy Rail from Waverley station or The Airport shuttle bus (the central terminus is 15-20 minutes walk from the apartment) at Waverley Bridge outside the Railway Station where there is also a Taxi Rank which should cost approx £5 from the station to the Apartment. Car parking is Free outside the Apartment between 5.30pm – 8.30am and All Week-end and Free On street Parking if spaces are available 5mins Walk away. Outside of these times there is Metered parking outside the Apartment which is “very reasonable to be so near the City Centre'.
