Lovely cottage perfect for exploring Burgundy
We loved our stay at the Winemaker’s cottage. It was spacious and comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Christina provided more than we could have asked for in terms of information and suggestions about how to enjoy the area. We would love to return.

We are an Anglo French family, our roots are thoroughly European. The food, wine, landscape, history and culture of France are unbeatable. I'm an artist and live near London but spend as much time as possible discovering new places off the beaten track.

Why they chose this property

We love the feeling of being part of the community, total isolation with an hour's round trip to the market is not for me! The quiet village setting just next to the lovely medieval town of Nolay where you can cycle, walk or drive for a coffee, lunch or an evening dinner is a friendly place. There is always something going on. Beaune, with its magnificent monuments is only a short drive through some of the world's most prestigious vineyards and getting 'lost' on the way is an absolute must.
As an artist the sheer beauty of the countryside with its meandering, curvaceous slopes contrasts stunningly with the geometric lines of the vineyards and oh, the colours! In Autumn the Côte d'Or really is bathed in gold.
The house has a charm of its own, it's not flamboyant and the views are homely rather than dramatic. It's also practical, there's a corner for everyone.

What makes this property unique

The house has a charm of its own and is also practical, there's a corner for everyone. The two bedroom suites offer privacy for couples or friends sharing the space. The pretty garden, village setting, local events, friendly neighbours and winemaker's courtyard gives a sense of belonging to a tiny slice of France's unique heritage.
