About Susan Moffett
My profile picture includes my daughter, Taylor Anne, who lives with me and may sometimes be helping make your stay more enjoyable. We have lived here for 10 years, after escaping from Houston and Atlanta. We couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to call home than the Lexington, VA area. If you make your way to downtown Lexington, feel free to drop by and say "Hi!" at my interior design and retail store, Southern Girls.

Why Susan Moffett chose Rockbridge Baths
My husband, Kevin, and I chose this property approximately 10 years ago because we were looking for an escape from the metropolitan life. We love the outdoors and wanted our two children, Josh and Taylor Anne, to experience life on a "farm". We sold our home in Atlanta, purchased an RV that was big enough for a family of four, a dog and a cat, and then started slowly making our way up interstate 81. We were looking for small town charm with a lively community. Once we discovered Lexington, we never looked back. W&L University and VMI keep Lexington alive with activity, and you would be hard pressed to find a friendlier community. Just 15 minutes from town, our old farmhouse dated back to either the late 1700's or early 1800's is located on 80 acres with a peaceful mountain view. We enjoy sharing our little piece of paradise with friends we just haven't met yet.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
FatDog Farm can be a very quiet retreat for viewing wildlife, hiking on several wooded trails, fraternizing with the two resident horses, sitting by a campfire, enjoying a picnic or outdoor dining with mountain views, or star gazing on a clear night away from the city lights.

Susan and Kevin were wonderful hosts and made us feel like part of the family. They were very flexible when our plans changed at the last minute and accommodated our needs graciously. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable not only for us, but also for our son and his friends. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay, I recommend FatDog Farm.
Beautiful, relaxing, serene property and great hosts!
We had a wonderful experience at FatDog Farm. The house was perfect, our room was JUST as described, but better, and the entire family was a joy to chat with.
Our room was as clean as clean can be with amazing linens, stocked shower and the cutest little coffee bar in the room.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking to escape the busy world for a few days.
Everything was exactly as described and Susan was beyond hospitable. Perfect getaway spot for my husband and my anniversary!
A little piece of Paradise
I can't thank Susan, Taylor Ann and Kevin enough for sharing their piece of Paradise with me!
Susan and Taylor Ann were amazingly friendly and helpful. Little Jackson, the Yorkie Poo was a joy. They made me feel at home!
My room was airy and bright. The bed was so comfy, I didn't want to get up. Mornings spent on the upper porch having coffee was delightful. Being out of town has its benefits in the quietness and abundant wildlife. It's only a short drive into Lexington and that made the Fat Dog Farm a great base for my excursions into the surrounding area.
I would go back in a heartbeat!
A thousand thanks to the Moffett family for sharing their home with me!
If you want a quiet stay in the country this is it close enough to all the history and attractions
