Apartment Gelso with two bedrooms
Tuscany | Casale Giuncarelli
The panorama from Casale Giuncarelli is one of the most beautiful views of Tuscany. The hills of Fiesole are pure Tuscan luxury, a green collection of cypresses, olive and pine trees. The city of Florence is literally at your feet.
The colonial country house Giuncarelli with swimming pool is located just above the center of Fiesole and has six beautiful apartments with a modern design and luxurious comfort. The area around Casale Giuncarelli is very quiet, but it’s easy to visit the town of Fiesole with restaurants, bars and terraces. The beautiful location on the hill and the short distance to Florence are Casale Giuncarelli’s main advantages. The farmhouse dates from 1700 and is surrounded by olive groves and oak woods.
The apartments are modern and cozy, decorated with care and detail. The swimming pool is 14 x 6 meter and 1,40 meter deep. Around the swimming pool you will find a solarium with sunbeds and parasols. There is also free Wi-Fi around the swimming pool.
Fiesole is a city that is located about 7 km northeast of Florence. Fiesole inspired many writers like Dickens, Shelly, Anatole France and Boccacio. It was an important city of the Etruscans. It is recommended to visit Florence using public transport from Fiesole. You can avoid parking problems in the city. The trip from Fiesole to Florence takes about 15-20 minutes.

This villa is set in the beautiful countryside very close to town and is surrounded by olive trees. There are several walking trails, one at least goes into the town of Fiesole about 2.5 km. away. The terrain is rugged, however, and the town has little to no sidewalks wide enough to walk on. One must be very vigilant to avoid cars coming from all directions. So a walk into town is risky for those seeking a nice stroll.
Our part of the villa had 2 bedrooms and two baths, a large kitchen (though no oven) and a large living room. Everything appeared well maintained and there was plenty of Tuscan atmosphere. The pool was immaculate, so pleasing just to look at. We used it almost daily.
Our hostess was quickly available and a delight to talk to.
Visitors should know that they must provide the staples for the house I.e. paper towels, napkins, toilet tissue detergent, etc. after the welcoming portions run out. Our single complaint was the condition of the lengthy driveway (which, btw, was quite difficult to find) as almost impossible to drive on without damaging the car’s undercarriage due to the protruding rocks and boulders, the uneven ruts, and the narrow passageway. This may be common in Italy. We found it a major turn off especially because we were responsible for a rental car.
Once out of the car we were always at peace in the beautiful, setting overlooking Florence.
Wonderful and peaceful place!
We stayed there for one week in September and enjoyed every bit of it! Thank you Daniela, we will be back!
thank you for enjoying your stay in my house like your own house. We work hard for it!
I hope to welcome you again
Amazing and so comfortable!!
Daniela was so wonderful! Easy to work with and very accommodating! She made us feel at home in her lovely country villa! It was everything we wanted and we hope to go back!!
Beautiful country house above Florence
Daniela was awesome. Attentive to every need and very helpful with how to get around and what to see and do. The house was very comfortable for 2 couples or a family and the setting and views are beautiful. Fiesole is quaint and a very nice jump off point for exploring Florence and the area. Don't miss trying the local pastry shop across the street from the supermercado. Black berry and chocolate infused croissants. Mmmmm. So good and freshly baked. Breads and pecorino cheese and Tuscany salami from the local shops are excellent too. Thanks Daniela for a great vacation.
Wonderful views over Floerence near Fisole
The apartment Gelso (Mulberry) is on one floor of the Casale le Giuncarelli, is large and well-appointed with views over Florence in the distance. The swimming pool and sunbed area are kept immaculate by Daniela, the owner and manager, daily. There is a terrace outside shared with three other apartments which overlooks the gardens. We enjoyed a one week stay there in mid-September. Daniela is around early most mornings for advice and information and is always helpful. Her old dog Heidi stays around most of the time and only once tried to join us for dinner.
The gardens are well laid out and kept and a lazy time can be spent around the pool and gazebo. There are individual and a larger communal barbecue.
We chose the apartment as a base to visit Florence. There is a local and frequent bus service from Fiesole 2Km away to the centre of Florence, partially down a rough stone track. Also be aware that parking in the village can be difficult and the streets are narrow, so don’t hire a large car. If you are a walker the area would be ideal. Cooking facilities do not include an oven or “toaster” as we would know in the UK – it is a Forman type grill. There is a range of places to eat in Fiesole and further afield.
We booked this property for the last three days of a 16 day trip and it was perfect in every way. Beautiful, relaxing amazing accommodations and the price can't be beat. The Daniela was very accommodating and truly made us feel at home. Very close to the Florence bus routes. We could have stayed a week.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR APPRECIATION!
I AM HAPPY WHEN MY GUESTS FEEL THEMSELVES AT HOME AND ARE ABLE TO JOIN OF ALL MY EFFORTS THAT TRY TO MAKE MY HOUSE MORE AND MORE BEAUTIFUL AMAZING AND RELAXING FOR THEIR STAY
At about 2 km from the villa is the town of Fiesole, one of the most prestigious areas of the hills around Florence, which since the end of the eighteenth century was one of the favorite places to stay by foreigners in Italy and who already bought the villas of Florentine nobility, restructuring them and providing them with beautiful gardens.
The center of the city is the Piazza Mino da Fiesole, where you will find the impressive Romanesque cathedral, Altoviti Palace (now the seminary), and the Municipality. Next to the seminar, a short but steep climb, leads to the Church of San Francesco.
Always near Piazza Mino, northbound, is the archaeological site with the Roman Theater, perfectly preserved, the remains of a necropolis of Roman baths and some other buildings of late-imperial. The theater is home to a theater season and summer music known as 'Fiesole Summer'.
A few meters from the Roman Theatre is the entrance of the Bandini Museum, home to an important and extensive collection of ceramics by Della Robbia.
The villa is only just 8 km from Florence which is easily accessible by bus. 7 Piazza Mino
