Stunning private residence in a popular resort on the Spanish Costa Blanca

Bedrooms 4
Space 2,906 sq. ft.
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 6 nights

About the property

Large open plan living area plus 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and private pool

Villa Florence has been our Spanish home from home since 2003 and has never before been rented. It is located 4 miles inland (north) from the Mediterranean Sea on a sloping hillside which offers both stunning views of the sea and cooling breezes throughout the day.

Having 3 double bedrooms with en-suite with a further twin bedroom it is an ideal summer or winter holiday venue for up to 6 adults and 2 children. The forth bedroom with twin beds is ideal for 2 children as it is located on the upstairs landing close to the master bedroom. Occupants of this bedroom would share the bathroom of bedroom number 3 or the Master bedroom

On the first floor (one level up from road level) you will find a huge open plan living/dining room which is sumptuously furnished in a traditional yet modern Spanish style. Centrally located in the middle of the living room is a log burning fireplace, essential for those cool winter evenings. There is a modern wide screen TV, DVD player and a selection of DVD's, CD player and small CD library, a desk and two comfortable 4 seater settees . There is also a selection of family fun games .

Adjoining is the dining area with a beautiful table and 6 chairs along with a drinks cabinet and sideboard.

A separate bathroom is off the sitting room with w/c, bidet and washbasin.

The kitchen is fully fitted with an electric oven/hob, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker and all the kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery you could ever need. In the utility is an American refrigerator with ice water and ice making facilities, a hot water heater, washing and drying machines, George Forman Grill, liquidiser and plenty of storage space.

Alongside and accessed from the living area is a double bedroom (bedroom No 2) with King size bed, en-suite shower, wc, bidet and twin wash basins.

The living area and bedroom number 2 are independently air conditioned

A marble staircase leads you to the 2nd floor where you will find a small double bedroom with an en-suite including a jaccuzi bath with shower, wc and wash basin cabinet. A large landing takes you through to the master bedroom with it's king size bed, bedside cabinets, 2 drawer chests and a TV. French windows lead you out onto a huge balustraded balcony offering fantastic views of two inland lakes and the Mediterranean Sea not far away.

Off the landing and close to the Master bedroom is a forth bedroom which we describe as a studio because this is where Maggie did her painting. However there are two single beds which are ideal for 2children. There is no door to the landing but we do provide a security gate to be used as required.

French doors lead out onto the large terrace described above.

The Master bedroom and bedroom number 3 are independently air conditioned.

BABY. There is a cot and high chair for the junior family member.

Back on the first floor the front door gains access to a large upper terrace with outside dining facilities and a lovely wicker suite of settee and two arm chairs. Step down to a huge tiled terrace where you find a large private swimming pool.

A pool heater located in the garage below will maintain an ideal temperature of 28c degrees in the summer months (June to September)

NB. All other months, October through to May, it is very weather dependent as the heater uses the heat in the air to heat the pool. Cool air, especially at night (low tariff period), will not heat the water or maintain the heat. We will always offer advice regarding possibilities at the time of your enquiry.

However the jacuzzi can be heated throughout these low season weeks.

A few years ago we built a gazebo, BBQ, shower and relaxing area down the east side of the terrace which is great for outside dining or a cool place to enjoy your pre dinner cocktails and watch the setting sun. Alternative you could dip into the 6 person hot tub which is located under a canopy which can give shade from the sun or be in full view of the evening stars. Magical.

By the way, as the villa faces south you have sunshine flooding the terraces and pool all day, but also cooled by the prevailing south westerly breeze which springs up most days around noon and dies down early evening. Perfect.

There are the usual garden furniture of sun loungers, occasional tables, drinks refrigerator, BBQ grill and a large sunshade umbrella.

On the ground floor (road level) there is undercover parking for 2 vehicles plus a large garage for a further vehicle. An electric sliding gate gives access from the road and an added level of security.

An alarm system linked to a local security firm provides automated security for your stay whilst sleeping or away from the villa.

The villa is not wheelchair accessible.

There is La Marquesa ( golf course just half a mile away and numerous other courses within 10 miles of the villa. Two water parks approximately 1 mile and 8 miles (Torrevieja) will keep the children happy. And of course there's are miles of fabulous sandy beaches between Guardamar and La Matta offering varied sports opportunities, plus numerous beachside restaurants and actual beach bars serving chilled beverages and local delicacies (tapas). Great fun for children and adults and all just 4 miles from your villa.

Ciudad Quesada (Quesada City named after the founder Senor Quesada) is a relatively new urbanization created about 50 years ago and now includes hundreds of villas, apartments, town houses, shops, supermarkets, banks and estate agents plus a huge variety of restaurants serving all manner of international cuisine, gymnasiums, sports facilities including tennis courts, bowling alley, cycle hire and a crazy golf course. Off course there are also numerous tapas bars and cafes to be found throughout Quesada for whenever you are in need of refreshment

Whatever you want from a holiday we are sure you will enjoy the delights of our lovely Spanish villa, the surrounding countryside and the attractions as much as we have in the past 13 years.

About Bernie & Maggie Osborne

My wife and I bought the villa in 2003, 2 years before we retired. We then moved to Spain permanently in 2005 and stayed until 2015 when we repatriated back to the UK. So we enjoyed 10 fantastic years living in Quesada playing golf, tennis, eating, drinking, partying and generally having a great time. Then wonderlust set in so we have recently broadened our horizons and now spend our time between Europe and the States. Hence the reason we have now decided to rent our belovered Spanish home to let others experience the pleasures we have enjoyed on The Costa Blanca (White Coast).

Bernie & Maggie Osborne purchased this villa in 2003

Why Bernie & Maggie Osborne chose Rojales

We fell in love with this villa the moment we arrived up on the first level, walked across the terrace and entered the house.

The people who were selling were a German couple and he had designed and monitored the whole building process ensuring everything was done according to his strict requirements.

We loved the master bedroom with its semi circular shape and the French window leading out onto the balcony. And the views of the sea from there in the morning while relaxing in bed are just fantastic.

We are also huge golf and tennis fans and play both games as often as possible. La Marquesa Golf Club is just a half mile away and is a great 18 hole course with a lovely clubhouse and practice areas. There is a large British contingent of players who have formed a playing and social league meeting Tuesdays & Thursdays weekly, and everyone is welcomed to play. There are 3 new tennis courts just 800 yards away and it's free to play.

Of course the Mediterranean beach's with the closest being just 4 kilometres away is fantastic.

What makes this villa unique

As the living part of the villa is one level up from the road and the entry is secured by an electrically operated sliding gate we always felt safe when home and confident the house would be secure when we were not at home.

Another level of security is the recently fitted alarm system which is monitored by a specialist company in a nearby town.

While touching wood I can honestly say we have never had any security issue while owning the villa when either in residence or not.

This was our 2nd stay in this outstanding villa within 6 months, we cannot impress enough the quality and comfort the villa offers, We have stayed at many villas over the years only to find they are somewhat sparse with only rental in mind, This wonderful villa obviously belongs to owners that care, the pool is heated (at no extra cost) free gas barbeque, great satellite channels, comfortable beds, large en suite bathrooms to all bedrooms, great outdoor space and being in a elevated position you are not overlooked, We would gladly recommend this great holiday home to friends and family, If you are thinking of staying in this area this villa is a must,

Happy Holidays,

Larry and Judy Webb,

Hampshire UK.

Wonderful *****

  • 5 of 5

We have recently been to this wonderful villa.

Everything is totally as described if not better.

The pool was awesome fantastic for our 3 year old boy he could step down to a comfortable level and as the days went on he grew in conference and went further. Brenda the lady that meets you is lovely she even took me me shopping!!! The owners are really easy going and can not do enough for you. Everything is on hand and you really don't need a car if you don't mind paying for the odd taxi. There's a small market type shop for everything you need just along the road to the rite and up 600yards. Or a large supermarket with bars nearby a 5 euro taxi ride away there's a restaurant on the mini roundabout facing youthere and for the life of me I don't recall the name we went there 3 times it's unreal. I can not fault the villa air con works perfect, fantastic views, extremely safe, English tv ...... for the mother in law we all had super time and it's a credit to the owners. I will most definitely be comming back if they'll have us :-). Highly recommend for a easy no stress holiday

Lovely, spacious villa with great outdoor area.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, spacious villa. Had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. We stayed here for 17 nights and we managed without a car, but we really wanted to relax and spend time with our family so it wasn't too much of a problem. The small town of Quesada is a 20 min walk away and there is a small selection of restaurants. We would definitely recommend The Banana Tree(Thai) and Day and Night (Italian) for beautiful food.

The outdoor areas at the villa are huge! There is a built in barbecue area and two separate full sized dining tables and chairs and a lovely sofa set on the covered patio area, where we had plenty of afternoon snoozes! The pool is cleaned twice weekly and there is a jacuzzi to relax in after a hard day sunbathing and having a nice gin and tonic. Overall a lovely villa and very nice owners to deal with, would highly recommend it.

The villa was in an excellent area.It is a beautiful villa .Tha facilities inside and out met all our expectations and more. I would strongly recommend the villa to families and couples alike.I went with my family following a very sad and hectic previous six months. We all came away feeling so much better. Most of our time was spent outside around the pool area which is one of the best pools and areas I have had the privilege to use.

The part of Spain where our villa is located is not very touristic in nature but more like a region where Spanish people live alongside citizens from northern European countries including Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium, France and Germany come looking for a warmer climate to live or retire. This invokes a very cosmopolitan feeling with a healthy mixture of languages, tastes, restaurants and bars, and many service businesses that cater for foreign residents. English is widely spoken.

While the immediate costal areas are highly populated and geared up for the tourist industry once you move a few miles inland it becomes quite rural and scattered with small towns and villages. slightly further inland, about 20 to 25 kilometres from the sea you come to a low mountain range.

Driving through this rugged terrain you enter a verdant plain where fruit and vegetable farming predominates along with the famous vineyards around Jumilla where you can do a wine and tasting tour.

Naturally walking and hiking amongst the hills is a very popular pursuit for the fit and healthy but it is also where you can get a real taste for rural Spain and experience their culture while also sampling their delicious cuisine and local specialities, not forgetting the local wine. Delicious.

Within 15 kilometres of the villa there are approximately 15 golf courses which as well as being members courses they do welcome pay and play guests. The will also provide clubs, golf carts, buggys and whatever else you might need to ensure all your needs are met to ensure you have a great game of golf, only limited by your own skill level.

Tennis courts are available in Quesada and there is a tennis centre at Al Gorfa about 10 minutes drive away.

Of course being so close to the sea ensures plenty of opportunities to go to the beach. There are miles and miles of beautiful fine sandy beaches along the coastline the closest one being at the little old resort town of Guardamar del Sugura.

This is really beach heaven for sun, sea and sand lovers with about 5 kilometres of the softest sand from Guardamar to La Matta. Small pop up bars are found every 400 meters or so who provide music, tapas style snacks and drinks and also have sun beds for hirer under fixed tropical umbrellas.

Perfect for a relaxing day by the sea.

For the children the huge inflatables they tether just off the beach are a perfect escape. While local stores sell all manner of beach essentials.

Closer to home and all within a kilometre you will find a children's aquapark with the usual slides and water features, cafes and gift shop. Down in Quesada village centre there is a crazy golf course, indoor bowling alley and a slots and games centre. While in the nearby town of Torrevieja there is a fantastic funfair every evening in summer months and yet another vast aquapark. For the ladies there is a nightly street market which my wife says is well worth a visit.

La Marquesa golf course which is just 800 meters from the villa is very popular amongst residents and visitors alike(www.lamarquesagolf.es) and is a full 18 hole facility. All equipment can be hired and there is a great 19th hole with a restaurant, terrace and chill lounge. The course is quite flat on the front nine but is interestingly undulating on the back nine. Just to put you in need of that cool pint of draught beer in the bar.

The ladies will enjoy the numerous markets which are held daily in the nearby towns and villages. These are a jolly affair with a wide selection of stalls selling a variety of food, artifacts, clothing, shoes etc and plenty of thirst quenching watering holes, you get the picture.

Quesada has a huge variety of shops, banks, chemists, shops, bars and services including filling station, cyber café and estate agents. But the most important to you the holiday maker will be the large amount of international themed restaurants including many northern European but also a good selection of Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Latin, Italian & Greek. You will also find dozens of traditional Spanish restaurants and tapas bars in the villages around Quesada.

All these villages take it in turn to hold their own fantastic Moors & Christians Fiesta's every summer.

They hold mock battles if they are close to the sea but all of them put on a fantastic parade through the streets dressed in the traditional costumes of the Moors & Christians. There's dancing and marching bands and a lot of merry making. Not to be missed and take place from early July through the end of August.
