About the property

Exquisitely restored Mallorquin cottage, sleeps 2/3

Dating from 1750s, Can Font is a south facing cottage situated on the edge of the picturesque mountain village of Galilea. With its sea and mountain views, it is especially ideal for couples wishing to escape the hustle and bustle to enjoy the peace and calm of the spacious terraces, the private infinity pool and fresh mountain air. The 250 yr. old Mallorcan cottage has been exquisitely restored, providing charm and luxury in equal measures.

The kitchen well equipped and airy with granite work tops. The cottage also benefits from air-conditioning in the bedrooms, under-floor heating throughout, English & German Satellite TV and WIFI.

Golf, beaches, sailing and Palma are all within easy reach.

For those preferring the cooler months of Autumn and Spring, one can enjoy the spectacular mountain walks and Palma's rich architectural heritage.

The cottage is set in 5,100 Sq. m. of land on the edge of Galilea, a picturesque mountain village with a couple of bars and a restaurant. The large south facing terrace (136 m2) is idea for sunbathing and reading in peace & quiet, and then cooling off with a dip in the infinity pool (private use 8 X 4m). The covered porch provides a perfect area for informal dining in the summer with sea views whilst watching the sunset. Whilst the kitchen is light and comfortable for the cooler months. The cottage would suit a couple with one child (but is not really suitable for teenagers). There is also adequate parking for 4 cars.

Worth mentioning too are the benefits and pleasures of visiting Mallorca in the off season months when the temperatures are cooler.

The location of the cottage would make a good home for those who enjoy the peacefulness of a quiet village whilst being only 7 min's drive from the next village where there are many amenities orr 20-25 min's drive into Palma.

Dear Jackie,

excuse that we contact only today on your dear lines. But with our return a long row of doctor and hospital visits has begun for Peter on account of his huge shoulder pains which have effects on the whole chest.

Hence, unfortunately, we find only today time and rest to answer to you.

We have felt in your wonderful house absolutely at home. We have loved it - it was so relaxing, so easy and you were a miraculous hostess.

We also hope that we will see again in the nice Galilea.

Dear Jackie, from us both of all love and good for you. And again a sincerely meant thank-you. Hier klicken!

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

Our whole holiday was just amazing! The cottage is simply beautiful, impeccably restored and so homely, with breath taking views to die for, I had to keep pinching myself. Jackie made a wonderful home made cake and supplied basics in the kitchen for our arrival. I agree with another review the pictures are fantastic but it is much larger in reality and even better to experience, they don't quite do it justice.

Jackie was so warm and welcoming, a beautiful hostess for a beautiful home. She made us feel at ease straight away letting us know all the details of the house and the area etc... and that she was always there if we needed her. After that we didn't see her only in passing to say hello which was lovely as you felt you had your own space amongst the tranquillity, but also had the help of someone that knows the area; if you need advice or info.

She made our day one lazy afternoon bringing us a bowel of fresh figs from the village square, they were just delicious I really cant put it into words. The two tapas bars in the village were also really good we would recommend them if you don't want to cook or drive out for dinner.

Being in the mountains was also delightful as it was a little bit cooler and only a short drive away from Palma.

We are hoping to go again next year ourselves, and would recommend Jackie and Martins place to anyone. Though I also agree with another review we are reluctant to recommend at the same time in case it gets totally booked up!

A little piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the cottage. It was well equipped, clean and stocked with some delicious cake and wine when we arrived hungry and thirsty after a long flight. It’s in a quiet village well out of the hurly burly of the seaside resorts which is definitely what we wanted. Jackie was very accessible when we needed advice but left us to ourselves the rest of the time. Will definitely be back.

What more could we ask for. Even better than the pictures suggest. Idyllic location & great views.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week at Jackie's property during July 17. The pictures dont do tbe property justice. Yes the roads to get to the villa will need your full concentration but you're rewarded with wonderful vistas with a property to match. As other reviewers have suggested Jackie is the consummate host with a welcoming Apple & Ginger cake and a basket of provisions kicking off a wonderful stay.

The property has everything you need with the outside offering an array of options throughout the day whether you want sun or shade. The A/C in the bedrooms was very welcome at night and the pool providing the same cooling option for the daytime hours. The upstairs terrace is ideal for a lazy breakfast watching the village wake up... just be careful carrying your Cafitiere up the stairs!

The villa is well appointed to the bar and restaurant in the village square next to the church. We could recommend both but the outdoor terrace of the bar with it's panoramic views made the beer, wine and tapas taste even better.

Jackies information folders give you all the advice you need on places to eat, drink and shop and the property is only around 30 minutes from the outskirts of Palma if you need to top up at the Supermarkets and about 40 minutes to the coast at Saint Elm.

This property really does tick all the boxes and the only downside is we only had the one week at the property.

Thank you Jackie we really had a wonderful time and it was a pleasure meeting you and staying at your property.

Fantastic holiday, superb cottage

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned home having spent a fantastic week in Jackie's cottage. The cottage and location are breathtaking with stunning hilltop views down towards the sea. The cottage was spotlessly clean inside and out and really well equipped, a real home from home; equally as impressive as in the photos. As previous reviewers have already said the welcome from Jackie was second to none with a delicious homemade apple and ginger cake (Jackie's mum's recipe!) waiting for us on arrival as well as the essentials to start our holiday already in the fridge. Jackie was on hand if needed but never intrusive. The tiny village of Galilea is very pretty with a church, a square, one restaurant and one cafe with stunning views over the countryside, probably best for coffees and drinks rather than food but lovely to have somewhere within walking distance to enjoy a drink on a balmy evening, staff all very friendly. No hesitation in recommending to a friend and we shall definitely be making a return visit soon. Thank you for a great holiday Jackie!

Six Star Review

  • 5 of 5

Superb property - one of the very best we have stayed in over many years of travel. Myriad details reveal a very high quality approach. Beautiful fixtures, fittings and finish everywhere. No nasty plastic sun loungers here - all aluminium framed items are the order of the day.

Need a fast food outlet close to you on holiday? Don't look here then. Hustle and bustle of a major resort your sort of thing? This place is not for you. Many bars by day and clubs by night a prerequisite for your holiday? Forget it!

If you like the peace and tranquility of a tiny village perched in the mountains and a property set in a natural amphitheatre on a mountainside with panoramic views down to the sea many miles away then I can't recommend this highly enough. Birdsong and the sound of cicadas is the predominant background noise. Marvellous!

The infinity pool is one of the best kept we have come across and the views afforded from it whilst swimming are absolutely wonderful. Truly a treat.

Perhaps best of all is the personal touch afforded by the owners whose views on what constitutes a good holiday property accords entirely with our own. Also, a generous welcome pack with an utterly delicious homemade cake awaited us on our arrival! It was all very nicely done.

Overall very highly recommended.
