|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
The flat , which has been recently renewed (2012) is located in a typical local house in Riomaggiore historical downtown. It is 300 meters from the sea.
It is situated on 2 floors and can host up until max 6 people with its 3 confortable bedrooms.
The first floor has a living room, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The second floor has a small living room with kitchenette, a bedroom and another bathroom.
The 2 floors can be rented together (for 5 or 6 people) or separately (first floor only for 4 people or second floor only for 2 people). The privacy is 100% guaranteed in all cases.
Starting on the 2015 season we also have a small 'secret' garden for our guests. It is between the house and the mountain, confortable and nice with its orange, tangerin and lemon trees. It will be possible to spend here a few relaxing moments during your holiday. The garden will be available for those groups renting the first floor or both floors together and we will only request a small additional amount for the final cleaning (of course, only for those people who will like to use it).
Our rates are referred to the first floor part only: please read carefully on the notes below the price list the additional info for the second floor only or for the whole flat.
The apartment is a few minutes walking from the railway station or from the car parking.
We advise our guests that it is strongly recommended to arrive by train and to leave the car at La Spezia railway station parking as the car is not useful at 5 Terre (where you can go by train, by boat or even on foot across all the villages).
Riomaggiore is only 8 minutes by train from La Spezia and the parking in La Spezia is far cheaper than in 5 Terre.
Our stay was wonderful, beautiful apartment in a perfect location, lots of steps but it only adds to the charm! We wanted to experience the local culture of Riomaggiore and this flat did not disappoint! The secret garden is a must, a quaint little spot for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while surrounded by orange trees and lemon trees. The bathroom is very small but typical of bathrooms throughout Italy. I loved the little kitchenette, overall it is just a charming place! The owner was very prompt to return phone calls and emails. Very pleasant to work with! If we ever get to visit Riomaggiore again, I would definitely want to stay here again!
The bedrooms are great, spacious and beautiful but the living room is really not really a living room. It's tiny and uncomfortable. The bathroom is oddly shaped and also uncomfortable even if clean. the kitchenette is int very comfortably equipped, not enough stuff. I would recommend this place for those who want a clean place to crash but not for those who are looking for a home-like experience. You have to wire money or pay cash in person, which is a little awkward.
The Cinque Terre area covers some 15 km along the extreme eastern end of the Ligurian coast, between Levanto and La Spezia. It is a very jagged, steep coastline, which the work of man over the millennia has transformed into an intensively terraced landscape so as to be able to wrest from nature a few hectares of land suitable for agriculture, such as growing vines and olive trees. The human communities have adapted themselves to this seemingly rough and inhospitable nature by building compact settlements directly on the rock, with winding streets. The general use of natural stone for rooting gives these settlements a characteristic appearance.
