About Grace Alemany
I'm Mallorcan / British and spent my childhood visiting my grandparents in this house in Estellencs every weekend
Grace Alemany purchased this House in 1900
Why Grace Alemany chose
Its a beautiful village with a friendly community and a slow, rural pace of life... unless it's fiesta time! Live like a local, stay in style and sleep in comfort.
What makes this House unique
Sitting right in the heart of the village, my grandparent's house put you in the centre of whatever action there might be. Restaurants on the doorstep, there's nothing better than sitting out all evening with a bottle of wine and watching the world go by. In the house, I love the top bedrooms with their original wonky beamed ceilings and low windows. For decades, the room that's now the twin bedroom was my grandmother's larder, always with big bunches of fresh tomatoes, drying herbs and baskets of olives hanging from the beams.

Wonderful Mallorcan Experience
We had a great, comfortable stay at Casa de Abuelos. The house felt authentically Mallorcan and at the centre of life in the village. We found the cafeteria Vall Hermos just wonderful, great food, reasonable price and very friendly staff, thoroughly recommend. Just a tip for future guests, pic up a mosquito guard plug in as we got bitten a few times at night as we left windows open for fresh air to come in.
Beautiful Mallorcan property set back from the village square.
Wonderful property, beautifully presented and clean in a superb location with a lovely host; all added up to a memorable family holiday which we all agreed we would do again.
An authentic Spanish experience
A beautiful part of Spain and a very authentic home. Beautifully decorated and presented.
An amazing gem of a place
My mum recommended this place to my family and I after she stayed here earlier in the year while exploring the Tramuntana mountains. She talked so much about how wonderful Estellencs is and how comfortable the house was... so we booked it for ourselves... and she was 100% right.
Grace has created the perfect mallorcan home in the village, with every comfort you might need. The beds are great, the kitchen well equipped and the house is really stylish with a mix of modern comfort and traditional Mallorcan antiques and furnishings. I echo all the previous reviews... its a wonderful gem of a place and I wish we could have stayed longer.
Favourite thing: sitting at the table outside the front of the house with a glass of wine and watching village life.
Recommended: Montimar restaurant in the village. Incredible mallorcan food, especially the Lechona.
Best excursion: there are so many footpaths in the mountains that you can get to just 2 minutes walk from the house. The GR221 mountain footpath is one long adventure.
Fantastic, in a beautiful location
Completely and country-style furnished, cozy house in a beautiful mountain village. The ideal starting point for hikes and excursions in the area.
Beautiful village house in Estellencs
I've just returned from a wonderful few days in the lovely village of Estellencs. I'm a return guest at Casa de Abuelos and my experience this time was just as wonderful as before, if not better! Although we have never met, the owner, Grace, is friendly and helpful and her house simply beautiful. Rustic and full of charm, there has been a few recent improvements and additions including a new wood burner stove which is ideal for chilly Spring nights. The beds are incredibly comfortable and sitting out on the balcony is one of my all time favourite ways to wile away an afternoon!
I highly recommend this village house in the foothills of the stunning Mallorcan mountains.
Situated in the foothills of Mount Galatzó in the UNESCO World Heritage Tramuntana mountains, the predominantly stone built village clusters around the picturesque town square and 17th Century church. Surrounded by pine forests and olive groves, the area is world renowned for walking, hiking and cycling but village life has remained remarkably untouched by tourism. Estellencs boasts 5 family run restaurants and 3 bars as well as a small convenience store and local vineyard which is open to visitors. A breathtakingly beautiful 45 minute drive from Palma centre along the mountainous coastline, the village has its own ‘calita’ – a lovely secluded pebble beach with crystal clear water and a little local bar. It is possible to do day trips along the coast visiting many of the island’s other stunning villages, including Valldemossa, Deia and Soller. Towards Andratx, many of the sandy beaches offer watersports and sailing facilities as well as an impressive selection of restaurants, cafés and shops.
