Marinella, also known as Marinella di Selinunte, is a fishing village built at the end of the 19th century that stretches along a long sandy coast, located between the mouth of the Selino river, near the Acropolis of Selinuntina and the small port east of Marinella. Today it is a tourist-seaside center, where fishing is still practiced today with small fishing boats serving tourist activities. Every day, around 8 am, in Piazza Empedocle, you can participate in "the enchantment of fish", a most characteristic expression of the maritime history of the village itself. The township is located adjacent to the Archaeological Park of Selinunte, the largest archaeological area in Europe. 270 hectares that tell one of the most flourishing classical civilizations of the Mediterranean. 7 Temples, some in good condition, built according to a strict Doric order, the oldest Greek architectural style. And yet sanctuaries, necropolises with over 2 500 years of history. A journey through typical local products, beaches, sunset walks, history, culture and entertainment.
