Overview

About the property

2 bedroom, large loft + 2 bath, sleeps 8

This is the perfect cabin for a ski getaway, a romantic weekend, family vacation or holiday retreat. The cabin is just steps away from the most serene spot on the Greenwater River.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area. Indulge in the many activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer like skiing, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing or hanging out at the local swimming hole on a sunny afternoon.

This charming mountain cabin is located just 15 miles outside the Sunrise Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park and 20 minutes to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. Go snowshoeing on the many trails just minutes away or spend a day skiing or snowboarding at Crystal Mountain Ski Area. Ride the Gondola to the top and enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Mt. Rainier either in the winter or summer. Enjoy the view while dining at the Summit House. Return home and relax in the hot tub or in front of the wood-stove while watching a movie, playing games or just enjoying time with the family.

Enjoy the beautiful outdoors while you roast marshmallows around the fire pit or cook a meal on the outdoor grill. Feel free to explore or create your own adventure; there are plenty of hiking trails and places to explore right out the backdoor. It is not uncommon to see a heard of our local Elk walking through the property, enjoy them from a distance but please do not feed them - leave them wild.

Stop in and say hi to the Grubb family who have owned and operated our local favorite coffee and gift shop “Wapati Woolies” for several decades. The Huckleberry ice cream is worth waiting in line for on a hot summer day! This is a one of a kind gift shop that caters to winter and summer sports enthusiasts year round.

Within walking distance you will find a small grocery store fuel station, a Snowboard shop, a Tavern and of course Wapati Woolies. The gas station and small grocery store have limited supplies so please pick up necessities on the way to the cabin.

We look forward to your stay in our family retreat and enjoy it as much as our family has for years.

Great vacation cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was an excellent base for hiking in Mount Rainier National Park. The kids loved having the river in the back for wading and building rock stacks.

The kitchen was the best equipped of any VRBOs we have visited. There are not many amenities in Greenwater, but you are less than 30 min. to Enumclaw where we stocked up on groceries. We did not miss eating out as the cabin was perfect for grilling out dinners and relaxing after a day of hiking. Owners/housekeeper were very responsive to questions and requests. Would definitely visit again! - Doug & Jami

Choose this place, you won't regret it!

  • 5 of 5

We had come off of our first cruise to Alaska. While it was enjoyable and beautiful, we all agreed that it was a bit rushed and were looking forward to the 2nd half of our stay which was at Lorraine's property in Greenwater. Coming from Hawaii, we do live in a place that visitors call, "paradise". For us, THIS was our paradise! This well kept cabin provided the look and feel we were hoping for. The open floor plan which could sleep 8 was spacious for our family of 5 and it gave us the desired rustic look mixed with all the amenities needed. Outside, the swings and zipline were a pleasant surprise and the kids enjoyed it thoroughly. The wagon wheel table added the perfect look to the deck and the hot tub was so soothing. We used the fire pit for the smores and hotdogs. We were visited by the elk and although ducks are a common bird, it was fun watching a mother and her ducklings come floating down the river in what seemed to be a regular thing at about the 6-7pm hour, all in a line and then hitting the rapids bouncing up and down as they went out of view. Hilarious! On our last morning there, we saw the ducks heading upstream so I guess that's their daily routine. I wonder if they do this for fun. There were also these small blue birds that glided like paper airplanes and went in and out of the birdhouse set up by the hot tub. We freaked out on our first night by the fire, thinking they were bats! Perhaps motivated by the ducks, we bought some inner tubes and floated down the river a bit. We must've looked ridiculous to the locals, floating in less than a foot of water, getting stuck on the rocks in the smallest of rapids, trying not to touch any part of our bodies to the cold water, and all the while yelling and screaming as if we were in class V rapids! It was a whole lot of fun! It was such an awesome and memorable stay and while you'd think doing a cruise for the first time would be the highlight, staying here at Lorraine's truly was! Thank you Lorraine for allowing us the opportunity to stay there and to Tessa who got us into the house earlier than scheduled, set up the hot tub and gave us a clean house to enjoy. I can tell you truthfully that we all had to deal with moments of depression having to leave what us Hawaiians feel was our paradise. We do live in a beautiful place, but now that we're back in humidity, we're sulking even more! Thanks again and we hope to return someday soon! Aloha!

Awesome Elk!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! Came to ski, Crystal is super close. We loved drinking coffee with the elk, relaxing in the hot tub, swinging on all the swings, roasting marshmallows and listening to the river. Excellent, responsive owners. Clean place. Everything you could need in the kitchen. We will come back.
