About Virginia Coombes

In 1998 our family made a life changing decision to move to Spain, we bought our villa in 2000 and lived in the house until our 4 children gradually left home for university and work in the UK. My husband and I now live in the UK full time and holiday at the villa when we can.

The villa is more than a holiday rental its home from home.

Virginia Coombes purchased this villa in 2000

Why Virginia Coombes chose Valencia Province

We have had many family holidays here with friends and relatives they all tell us what a relaxing time they have had there's so much for the children to do and plenty of space so you don’t get under each others feet.

What makes this villa unique

When we decided to buy a property we had looked at many but when we saw this villa we fell in love with the arches on the terrace, the jasmine and bougainvillea growing up the walls and the wonderful palm trees. Since buying we have renovated all the bathrooms and the kitchen to a high standard.

Fab sprawling property.

We set out looking for a villa for three family's and this one didn't disappoint. It had everything required and more "a real home from home". The 4 children made full use of the pool, tennis court garden or chilled watching dvds, while the adults joined the kids or found a quiet spot to read or chill. On days out we used an excellent local taxi firm suggested by the owners to explore valencia, because the villa is on the outskirts of the city we found this ideal as it was lovely and peaceful but close enough to all the attractions that valencia has to offer. Our favourite thing about our stay would have to be the times sitting together on the veranda either eating or just looking out onto the beautiful garden. Tx for a wonderful holiday. The Abernethy's, family and friends.

Fabulous family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely three generational family holiday in early June. Andy and Virginia could not have been more helpful in answering any queries we had prior to our visit and responded really quickly. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the fantastic facilities of the villa without feeling the need to venture out much. The proximity of the airport (although we were never aware of planes) made it easy to gather our crowd of mostly young adults arriving on different flights. Having a good supermarket five minutes drive away also made life a lot simpler when catering for a big group. We spent many happy days playing tennis, fronton, table tennis and boules as well as relaxing around the pool and in the comfortable outdoor eating and sitting areas. The house is very well equipped and well-maintained and we would happily return and recommend it to friends.

Great place for relaxation and activity.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in villa Maria Garcia in early May with grandparents, parents and children. We loved the house which was much bigger than we expected from the pictures. Everything you might need is available in the house. A very well equipped kitchen, nice furniture everywhere and lots of sports gear like tennisrackets and tennis balls. We spent many hours on the tennis court. Also the garden, terraces, balcony and swimmingpool are very nice. Although for most of us the swimming pool was still a bit fresh early May.

It was convenient that it was located close to the airport. And all the main attractions in Valencia can be reached within half an hour by car. We recommend exploring Valencia by bike. You can do this with a tour of just rent bikes as we did.

At a very short drive there is a supermarket Consum with lots of fresh produce.

We also appreciated al the information we got from the friendly owners.

Highly recommended.

Perfect half-term break

  • 5 of 5

An amazing venue for a half-term break with friends. The house swallowed up 17 people in lovely accommodation without feeling remotely crowded. You could spend an entire week in the house and not get bored - fronton tournaments, petanque 'pitch', football, table tennis, swimming pool, gardens, sofas... Supermarket and bars nearby to stock up on essential provisions. Great kitchen to cook in and a short drive to Valencia centre or beaches if you want to venture out. Can't wait to go again.

Visited here with 3 other families for October half term. The weather was perfect (not too hot) and we even went swimming in the sea! The house was absolutely perfect for such a large number of people - Lots of different areas both inside and out so you didn't feel ontop of each other. It was really well equipped from kitchen (lots of dry goods so didnt have to panic shop for tea bags, herbs etc) to games incl tennis table and lovely pool. Highlight of the house was fonton court (like a tennis court but much more fun) which everyone enjoyed...and it kept the kids occupied for hours! Also the area was great...Valencia town, the zoo, gorges, beach....would definately return!

What a fantastic villa!

  • 5 of 5

We booked a fortnight stay for this year’s family holiday - a group of twelve of us ranging in age from our 4 month old daughter to grandparents in their 80s. It worked brilliantly for all of us.

While there is loads to do and see in Valencia and we did spend a few days exploring, we ended up spending most of our time at the villa, far more than we normally would on a villa holiday. There is just so much to do there!

The house and garden have been done beautifully and are so well equipped - they not only provided a cot suitable for a new born, there was even a baby bouncer! The sports court is fantastic - I lost count of how many different games we played on it! The swimming pool is stunning and the steps at the shallow end meant everyone could enjoy a swim - especially useful when carrying a baby in and out!

We will certainly be returning!

Our villa is set in a quiet residential area in La Canada, with several bars, restaurants, and shops nearby.

Its close proximity to Valencia makes the villa an ideal base for exploring this historic city. Valencia is a city of contrasts, the wonderful old centre with its amazing food market where you can buy and savour the regional food. The beautiful plazas are the ideal place to stop for some wine and tapas. If you like eating out there are many great restaurants that I can recommend you try.

The recently built Science Park designed by Santiago Calatrava incorporates a zoo, marine park, science museum and opera house. This spectacular complex with its avant garde architecture is not to be missed. The bioparc is a new generation zoo conceived with the zoo-immersion philosophy, the visitor feels totally submerged in the wild habitats that have been recreated here. The marine park is home for more than 45,000 examples of 500 different marine species among which can be found sharks, Beluga whales, sea lions and manta rays. walruses, penguins. The park also has a spectacular dolphinarium and auditorium where they hold daily shows.

If you feel the need for a day at the beach there are several 20mins away.

Heron City a cinema and restaurant complex is 4km away, some of the films are in English, and there is also a bowling alley. The complex is pedestrianised so it’s a great place for kids.

Valencia City offers plenty of further tourist further attractions such as: Turia Gardens (dry river bed that has been converted into a park with sporting & leisure facilities), Botanic Gardens, Tourist Bus, Art Galleries, Theatres, Night Life, Markets & Shopping. There are many top quality beaches in the Valencia area such as Malvarosa, El Saler & Sagunto. Valencia is also home to Valencia CF, Levante CF, Cheste Moto GP circuit & the F1 circuit.

Golf: There are several top quality Golf courses in close proximity to the villa.

El Bosque (30mins), El Escorpion (10mins) and El Saler (30mins)

La Galiana and Sergio Garcia's home course 'Club de Campo del Medeterraneo' are 1 hour away.

The Benicasim water park is 1hour 40mins away.
