What makes this House unique
Dependance's guests can enjoy a natural environment with the services offered by the nearby city: a short distance (800m) they will find shops, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. In the private land there are more than 50 centuries - old olive trees (some about 500 years old), a part of virgin hill with cork oaks and mediterranean scrub, a forest of eucalyptus and some fruit trees. Guests can walk among the olive trees and along the path that through the eucalyptus forest goes up the hill. In this area it is possible to observe some species of birds such as the buzzard, the blackbird, the jay, the woodpecker, etc. This land was a farm’s property whose structure has been preserved: courtyard, manor house, farmers' lodgings, barn/stable.

Amandine and Gullielm are very kind and friedly guest, they left the house tidy and clean. I really suggest to havev them as guests. Sergio
COAST AND BEACHES
At 13 km away from the dependance, long beaches and wild cliffs are washed by an emerald sea. The most beautiful beaches are:
Funtanamare - Porto Paglia
It is the closest (13 km). It is a 3 km long stretch of sand washed by an emerald sea.
Masua (21 km away)
It is formed by two beautiful coves separated by rocks. Facing the nearby coast, the imposing 130m high limestone cliff “Pan di Zucchero” emerges. A short distance (1.5 km) from the beach is the Porto Flavia Mining Tunnel, whose opening out onto the cliff consents visitors to admire a spectacular panorama.
Cala Domestica (30 km away)
This enchanting cove with emerald green waters is set in a "sort" of fjord, between steep rocky walls surmounted in a side by an ancient tower.
San Nicolo / Portixeddu beach (34 km away)
It is located beyond Cala Domestica. It is a beautiful long beach with green waters surrounded by a thick pine and juniper forest.
The main mountain is Marganai, a calcareous massif about 570 million years old. It is rugged, with countless karst cavities, covered by a thick holm oaks forest. These are the main place to visit:
Marganai State Forest (14 km away). It is a wonderful primary forest of holm oaks (the largest one in Europe) among which beautiful holly and arbutus trees grow. Numerous trails allow tourists to explore the forest and admire spectacular views. Into the forest Linasia Mountain Garden reconstructs some of Marganai mountain environments and the main of Sardinian’s territory.
Grotta San Giovanni (Domusnovas, 14 km away). Regarding the karst cavities, once accessible by cars, it is among the longest in Europe (850 m). Now it is forbidden to transit by car, but on the other hand it is illuminated and crossable on foot. The cave shows several stalactites, stalagmites and columns. The cave’s entrances, gathering places for climbers from all over Europe, are adjacent to a magnificent holm oaks forest.
GEO-MINING PARK. The UNESCO World Heritage Site “Historical Environmental Geomining Park of Sardinia” protects the historical, cultural, ethnographic and archaeological heritage (linked to the mining activity) and the surrounding enchanting environments. The most interesting mining sites to visit are:
Porto Flavia tunnel (21 km away). A mining engineering masterpiece - in 1924 considered an unique modern technical solution for embarking minerals - was projected to reduce mineral transportation costs. Two overlapping tunnels on the cliff, in front of the sea, allowed the loading of ships moored below. Visitors walk through the upper gallery up to the cliff from where they can enjoy a fabulous view.
Santa Barbara Cave
Santa Barbara Cave (8 km away). It was discovered in 1952 during the excavation of a tunnel. It is considered the most beautiful cave in Sardinia for geological age, beauty, type and purity of concretions and, above all, for the presence of tabular crystals of barite embedded in the white aragonite rock. It is adorned by magnificent stalactites, stalagmites, columns and sails.
Beyond the innumerable trekking paths in Marganai State Forest and near Grotta San Giovanni, of absolute importance for the spectacular views is the Sentiero Miniere nel Blu that from Masua beach leads to Cala Domestica. It is a sequence of ups and downs on the cliff overlooking the sea, in a wild area, between junipers and other Mediterranean bushes. It is 10 km long, aimed at expert hikers.
At the Dependance it is possible to book excursions and visits at Geo-mining Park’s sites. At short distance a riding school organizes riding classes and excursions.
FOOD & WINES
In the dependance’s garden it is possible to taste typical Sardinian products: lunches and dinners with grilled meat or fish, cheeses and cured meats, desserts and wines, all of local origin.
