Our stay at Casa Arioli's "Ceci" apartment, between July 5-12, was a particularly pleasant and enriching one. For the duration of our stay, Alessandra was both a wonderful host and a helpful guide - often recommending neighborhood restaurants and splendid sites just off the beaten tourist path (e.g. the Church of Saint Peter-in-Chains, which is actually across the street from the apartment & a pilgrim's climb up some stairs - it holds Michelangelo's Moses & a reliquary containing Peter's chains); often equipping us with pamphlets and maps to aid us in our sightseeing. Each morning with Alessandra was special: she provided a simple yet rich breakfast spread (including two cakes she baked, one of which, the ciambellone, was splendid) accompanied by a discussion of the previous day's adventures and those to come. The apartment itself was very clean, beautifully appointed, and quite comfortable for two people. There is a small balcony off of the bedroom, and it was wonderful a place to sit and greet each morning amid the soft bustle of the neighborhood. The apartment is in a great and very safe location: about a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and less than a block from the Via Cavour Metro stop. Alessandra's Casa Arioli is well run and full of personal touches that will make your stay both memorable and pleasant.
I offer two examples in closing. First: we arrived on a Friday afternoon and were told that breakfast was served in the "Giova" apartment during the week only. To our surprise Alessandra had outfitted the fridge with water, milk, juice, a variety of yogurts, and a bowl of fresh fruit (including delicious "saucer" peaches that we Georgians had never seen before); there were also assorted jams and biscotti in the kitchen. A very generous gesture. Second: the morning we checked out of the "Ceci" apartment, Alessandra heard that we never made it to the Aventine Hill during our stay. As we had a few hours to spare, her daughter took us on a quick tour of the Aventine before driving us to the airport (a service well worth arranging with Alessandra).
We are both grateful to have met Alessandra and to have stayed at Casa Arioli. The next time we visit Rome, we will be certain to return!
As a first time Homeaway user, I was nervous, but Casa Arioli (the Ceci apartment) was the perfect place for my wife and I to spend 9 nights in Rome. Alessandra was an extremely gracious hostess, provided a fantastic European breakfast each morning, complete with advice on what to do, where to eat, and great conversation. The apartment was extremely secure, centrally located (probably a 4 min walk to the Coliseum and 5 to the Roman Forum). My wife and I (both about 30) walked everywhere in the city, though there are metro options just a few blocks away (about 15 min walk to Termini station).
Alessandra facilitated her daughter picking us up at the airport for a reasonable fee, which was great after a long flight. Upon arrival, the room was spotless and charming. It even had a small balcony, great for sharing a bottle of wine.
I would absolutely recommend this property to family and friends, and if the coins we threw into Trevi Fountain worked, we'll be back ourselves and will stay here!
Alessandra's web page description of her apartments in Rome are absolutely accurate. Not a bit of exaggeration. Our apartment, Cecci, offered everything we needed to feel comfortable, to feel at home. It was not simply clean. It was spotless! The decor is understated, simple, lovely. Her renovations included the best materials, including doors and windows that keep outside sounds outside, quiet inside. The location was perfect for walking or taking the metro to all the sights. Each morning Alessandra opened the door to the apartment across the hall and welcomed us for wonderful Italian coffee, pastries, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit; twice she baked cakes for us. The apple cake dusted with powdered sugar was divine. Each morning she stayed and talked enthusiastically about the city she loves, what we must see, where we should eat, valuable information to make our stay memorable. Actually, spending time with Alessandra each morning will be one of our most treasured memories. Thank you Alessandra.
I can’t say enough lovely things about Alessandra and Casa Arioli. She is absolutely reliable. Communication is prompt and she holds to everything she says. The apartment (we stayed in the Ceci) was immaculate and well appointed. It has a wonderful little balcony with a table and two chairs and is very quiet on the inside courtyard.
There is not a detail that Alessandra has not thought of right down to the perfect little candies in the central foyer. Alessandra is a very warm, friendly person who genuinely wants you to enjoy your time there. She offers so much more than what we availed ourselves of. She made a special accommodation for us so that we could stay at Casa Arioli on the only days that we could be there.
We met her son who greeted us with a big smile and her daughter (who the Ceci apartment was named after) who met us for breakfast in the morning and was ever so charming - genuinely sweet!
My husband and I love to walk and found Casa Arioli to be near just about everything. If you are looking for a place to eat, lunch or dinner, make sure to take Alessandra’s advice.
To get the same service and accommodations at a hotel or B&B you would have to pay so much more. We would definitely come back and next time, hopefully it will be for a much longer stay. THANK YOU ALESSANDRA!
All our best always,
Andra and Ronald
I highly recommend Casa Arioli! We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment and it fit our needs perfectly. The location is wonderful. We set off walking every day and marvelled that we were staying in such a historic part of Rome (but then all of Rome is historic!) yet our apartment was modern and spotless. Allessandra made our stay that much better. She made sure our day started right with a light breakfast and good conversation, providing tips about sites of interest preferred by Romans, the best way to get around and excellent restaurants. We wish her well!
I stayed in the "Ludo" apartment for 3 weeks and it indeed was a home away from home for me. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and delightfully furnished with great attention to detail. I loved the clean style of the rooms, the exposed wood beam ceiling, the way the large elegant bathroom was integrated in the open space, the antique pieces of furniture and the enchanting view of the stairs leading up to San Pietro in Vincoli with Michelangelo's Moses. The kitchen is equipped with all things necessary to prepare a nice dinner—the grocery store is just a few steps away. The location of the house couldn't be better: the old Rione Monti with its charming old-time spirit is full of original craftsman shops, small restaurants and cafés. It is a very safe neighbourhood and the streets are full of people even after midnight. The metro station is very close but I could walk practically everywhere which was great. The best thing, however, was the breakfast with Alessandra. A steaming cup of hot cappuccino, home-made cake or still warm "cornetto con cioccolata", fresh fruit and, most of all, the nice chat with Alessandra and her valuable insider tips for where to go, what to see, how to get to places, where to eat—this was the perfect start to a perfect day.
Cara Alessandra, grazie della tua squisita ospitalità e cordialità e complimenti per la passione con cui ti prendi cura degli appartamenti e del conforto degli ospiti. È stato un soggiorno indimenticabile e spero di poterci tornare presto!
In the heart of the oldest neighborhood of Rome, Rione Monti, who gave birth to 'Julius Caesar'; in a building of 1800, in characteristic position, fully renovated, with charm and great care for detail. In a family atmosphere, but the same time discreet.
The location is central, a few meters from many cultural attractions, folk, commercial and monumental of the Eternal City. In a very cheerful and lively, full of clubs, bars, restaurants, craft workshops and small shops. On foot you can reach destinations such as the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, the Circus Maximus, the Markets of Trajan, the Domus Aurea, the Quirinal Palace, the Church of St. Peter in Chains (Michelangelo's Moses), the Opera House, Piazza Esedra, the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore .... and much more!
You can get there easily from Termini Station, with only one subway stop B (Cavour stop) or with a few bus stops from Termini Station passing towards Via Cavour.
From Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci, take the train / bus 'Leonardo Express' to Termini Station.
The building is situated on a quaint and picturesque staircase, so you can not access it directly from the road, but just go down 15 steps from Via Cavour, or salirne 10 from Via Leonina below.
