Bird watching: North Norfolk and neighbouring Suffolk have several bird watching reserves, with Breydon Water being only 5 miles away. The North Norfolk coast is within easy reach offering 4 miles of tidal foreshore and salt marsh with superb bird life. Brancaster Staithe Nature Reserve, Blakeney Point, Cley marshes, Wells and Hunstanton are just a few of the North Norfolk attractions for bird watchers and tourists alike.

About an hours drive away in Suffolk you will find the bird and nature reserve of Dunwich Heath and Minsmere Beach. This is a National Trust heathland conservation area with good walks and spectacular views.

Norfolk Broads: For a day out with a difference hire a Broads cruiser for a lazy day floating along the famous Norfolk Broads.. There are plenty of riverside pubs to stop for a refreshing lunch before continuing on your relaxing journey. If fishing, bird watching or even wind surfing is your thing, then the Norfolk Broads is the perfect place.

Places of Interest: With the popular seaside town of Great Yarmouth only 5 miles away there are too many attractions to list all of them. One of the closest is Caister Castle, a historic ruin which is home to a fine collection of Classic Cars. The award winning Time and Tide Museum in nearby Great Yarmouth is set in an old smoke house and offers a fascinating insight into Yarmouth’s fishing heritage. The city of Norwich is only 20 miles away, with superb shopping and both the Cathedral and Castle within walking distance of the city centre.

Southwold in Suffolk is a genteel seaside town with many individual shops and jewellers. It is famous for amber jewellery and one of the shops has a small amber museum.

Both in Southwold and elsewhere there are many fine restaurants to try, including a noted sea food restaurant in Great Yarmouth.

We had a lovely second stay at this peaceful bungalow.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our second visit to this peaceful bungalow by the sea. The weather has been glorious. We spent a day in Wroxham on the Norfolk broads where there are lots of boats and trips to go on. We also visited a village carnival fayre in Martham. We love our short trips away from London and this bungalow is a perfect get away for us. The only thing I would say to improve this lovely bungalow is for there to be comfortable sun loungers available to be used in the garden to relax on when the weather is beautiful. Thank you once again for allowing us to stay in your spacious, peaceful haven. I am sure that we will return again.

Spacious clean and well equipped peaceful haven

  • 5 of 5

My partner Kevin and I took our mums away for a short break to this lovely, homely yet spacious, clean and well equipped bungalow by the sea in Scratby. It was a fabulous, peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of London which is where we live. The heating worked well as the weather was not very warm when we went so we were cosy. The large conservatory is a lovely space to relax in and listen to music on the great sounding system in there. We spent some lovely time in there both during the day and in the evening. A selection of CD’s and DVDs were there for there for the enjoyment of guests. Soft fluffy towels are provided.

We bought some delicious hot cross buns from the local bakery and enjoyed the fish and chips from the chippy down the road.

We visited Sherringham for the day whilst we were there. It is a lovely seaside town with lots of quaint shops and it’s own steam railway.

The bungalow is in a great location for exploring the Norfolk coast. We enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again for a welcome break from the city. We would recommend this place to others looking for a peaceful retreat.

Super Scratby Stay

  • 5 of 5

Had great time at Scratby and surrounding area. Bungalow great for a base. A little dated in furnishings but non the less clean and tidy. Everything included in price (such as heating bed linen towels). There was even a washer, whirligig and pegs for drying clothes and dishwasher. Large conservatory was super and a lovely private garden. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Lovely bungalow in a quiet area - highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay in Scratby. The bungalow was clean and spacious with all the equipment you could need. Children loved the garden and the conservatory was great for dining and chilling. Scratby beach was fantastic for the children - 3 and 5- and it was really central for trips to Cromer and Norwich as well as Great Yarmouth being a few minutes away.

Would highly recommend and would love to stay again if we visit the area in the future.
