A great stay at The Mouse House, Dorset

  • 5 of 5

An ideal place to stay for a couple wishing to get to know Dorset. Accommodation is small but warm and friendly with tentative owners who will assist with your needs and queries.

Great holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a lovely week at the Mouse House in the Dorset sunshine. Paul and sally made us very welcome and we loved the accomodation. It was perfect for the two of us plus the dog and ideally situated to explore the beaches of Dorset and visit relatives in Salisbury. Looks just as in the photographs.

Will hopefully be staying there again very soon.

Beautiful holiday home

  • 5 of 5

I just wanted to write a quick review to say what a wonderful stay I recently had at The Mouse House in Winterbourne Whitechurch.

A beautiful little cottage set in a lovely rural setting, I would recommend this holiday stay to anyone looking to get away from it all (or a cosy romantic retreat). With easy access to Dorchester and the south coast exploring is easy - there is also the delight of a village pub within a 5 minute walk.

The cottage itself comprises of one large beamed room split between bedroom and kitchen, a separate bathroom with shower, toilet & basin, a porch area and a little outdoor seating area in the back lovely for those summer afternoons or al fresco breakfast. For those colder months there is the luxury of under floor heating!

The owners Paul & Sally were lovely and very hospitable, we knew if we needed anything just to call around. The cottage catered for us perfectly and with little extra's such as a pint of milk, tea bags and coffee as well as a couple of beers in the fridge on our arrival they had thought of everything.

I wouldnt hesitate in returning to the Mouse House in the future.

The Mouse House is situated on the edge of the village about 2 miles from the popular thatched village of Milton Abbas. Located in the middle of Dorset it is ideally suited to those wanting to explore the rural county and the Jurassic coast. The famous coastal attractions of Lulworth Cove, Ringstead Beach and Durdle Door are only about 16 miles away as is the larger town of Poole. Slightly further afield are Weymouth at about 19 miles and Chesil Beach at 22 miles.

In the famous chalk land Cerne Abbas and the Chalk Man is only 13 miles from this holiday retreat.

With the Olympic games coming to the county it would suit those wanting to visit Weymouth and Portland who are hosting both the Olympic and Para Olympic sailing competitions.

For Shoppers, well known places such as Bournemouth, Salisbury with its popular Cathedral and Shaftsbury where the Hovis advert was filmed are nearby. All have a good selection of shops to meet all tastes and budgets.
