The property was just beautiful. It was nice to be the first one up and to walk around and soak in the scenery... Very spacious, very secluded, very beautiful surroundings, A great place to have a good time with friends. Thank you for the opportunity to rent the house. It was nothing but a positive experience!
This house is a lot of fun! It is also perfect to relax by the fire, or in the hot tub on the deck. It was complete with everything you need to cook (lots of utensils, pots, and even leftover sugar, spices, etc). It even had washer/dryer and leftover laundry detergent.
There are 3 double rooms, and in 2 of them there is a little mezzanine with twin beds. It is pretty high up and not the most secure railing but it would fit kids over 10 years old or adults. The game room is definitely the best thing there is! We had loads of fun.
The house was clean and it is located about 25 minutes from Hunter ski resort so pretty convenient.
Just one hick-up we had was the shower upstairs was not working, but I'm sure Rick will fix that easily.
We will definitely be back there again!
Its a delightfullly quirky place, great for families or groups of adults. Its isolated enough from things where you can just do your own thing, but close enough that a trip to town isn't a pain. Loved all the interesting garden and backyard features, really cute cabin in general. Something to keep in mind is that the wifi is not perfect and the area didn't have any cell phone service for us -- there is a house phone, so I recommend you get that number in case you need to make a call / have someone call you. Also, if you're afraid of heights or as drunk as some of we were, the lofts are intimidating so you may want to factor that into your sleeping arrangements, we pulled a mattress down ahead of time so that person wouldn't have to climb up haha, though I'm sure kids generally have no fear and absolutely love this feature of the cabin. Overall, we didn't find anything mentioned here to be an issue, but something I'd mention if someone asked me if they should also stay there. Hottub was awesome. Game room was awesome. Kitchen had everything you'd need. Working with Rick was a breeze and I'm grateful for that. Would def. recommend.
We had a great time at Ricks Catskill getaway. The house had everything as listed and tons of games in the basement. We had bad weather and several couples drop out on attending the trip but we still had a blast. We didn't get to experience the back yard or fire pit because of the rain and snow but it looked very nice. Recommended for avid hikers and skiers.
We stayed a weekend In September at this beautiful house. It was very relaxing and the scenery was absolutely amazing. Everyone loved the jacuzzi. Rick was very helpful and answered all our questions right away.
Great house ! For family time , loved the pool table , and hot tub on deck . The house was well appointed and clean , loved the location and the hiking trails down the the road from the house . Would stay agin for sure , if your looking to decompress from life and cell phones this is the house .
We had a great time staying at Rick's . He was great to work with and made sure we had everything that's needed to make for a comfortable stay. All the extras make for lots of fun (ping pong, pool table, fooz ball, air hockey, hot tub, fire pit and more) But the best thing about the location is the peaceful setting. It's so quiet and beautiful. The property was very clean and well stocked. I've been using VRBO and Homeaway for a long time and used dozens of time and this is among the tops. I would definitely recommend to anyone with or without .
