Maison Laurier is a recently renovated, 200m², luxury 18th century townhouse in the historic centre of Uzès, just 2 minutes walk from the Place aux Herbes. Spacious and bright with exposed stone walls and original beamed ceilings, all bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.
As the house has two independent entrances from the street it has been designed on renovation to be let either as a whole to accomodate groups of up to 8 guests or as two independent apartments for 6 and 2 guests respectively. There is top quality equipment and elegant furnishings and decoration throughout.

On the top floor there is a spectacular kitchen and dining area opening onto two rooftop terraces. The level below offers a large living room and separate WC. The 3 bedrooms are on the ground and 1st floors along with an office/TV room.
APARTMENT LAURIER (1 bed/1 bath - 40m² living area + balcony)
This cosy apartment for two has a mezzanine level kitchen/living room and balcony and a spacious, comfortable double bedroom with en suite shower room upstairs.

We are an English family but have spent over 15 years living in France. Our passion for France and the French lifestyle has led us to buy several properties in France. Having moved back overseas in 2013, we decided to rent our home in Uzès as unfortunately our visits are far fewer than they were from the UK!

We completely renovated this house to expose the beautiful old stone walls and beamed ceilings whilst adding a modern, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms off each bedroom. We furnished it elegantly and comfortably, as we would our own home, in the hope that our guests find their home away from home.

The house is perfectly located for exploring historic Uzès on foot. With a rooftop terrace either side of the kitchen, you will enjoy the amazing light at both sunrise and sunset and understand why we designed the house with the bedrooms on the lower floors and the kitchen and living room on the top floors.

Another fantastic vacation in Uzes! The house at Grande Bourgade was perfect for our family of 5.
This is second time we have rented one of Stefanie’s properties and La Grande Bourgade property did not disappoint. It is well furnished and decorated. Despite the record heat wave and lack of air conditioning, we managed to stay ‘cool’ by opening the doors to the terraces and creating Cross ventilation of the kitchen. There were floor fans in the bedrooms and kitchen which helped with the 40 degree heat during our two week stay. We love the location and proximity to some of our favourite spots in town. Veronique was incredibly welcoming and checking in and out was seemless. Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home.

We had a wonderful week at Maison Laurier. The home has character and charm while being tastefully renovated and furnished. We were four, (one couple from Vancouver Island and the other from Adelaide), although there are enough bedrooms to accommodate six and plenty of bathrooms. The large kitchen on the top floor is the hub of the home, with modern appliances and well stocked with dishes, etc. There are two decks, offering morning and evening sunshine, and the living room on the third level is comfortable for relaxing. Maison Laurier is located on a quiet street with a boulangerie at the top and a short walk to la Place aux Herbes for shops and cafes. We highly recommend Terroirs for lunch and tapas and just around the corner, Ten is a fabulous restaurant serving delicious nouvelle cuisine - owner, Kate, from Devon is delightful!
Maison Laurier's owner, Stephanie, was extremely pleasant and helpful when we were making the booking for our trip and we were most impressed with her attention to detail. Her greeting party, Annie and Veronique, were friendly and prompt. We always managed to find a parking spot close by.
Uzes is the perfect size - not too big to feel like a city but large enough to offer all the shops, restaurants and attractions you could need. A highlight was the walk through the park and up la montaignette for wonderful views of the town in the distance.
My only caution would be to people who can't handle stairs - the home is on four levels - but we all enjoyed the much needed exercise to work off the morning croissants!!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maison Laurier and hope we can return one day!

Wonderful place to stay!
The property is in a quiet neighborhood with private parking nearby. We were traveling to the south of France to attend a family wedding at the Pont du Gard, and wanted to spend a few days in the area before the wedding. Uzes is a great town, and terrific location for touring the area. The house is spacious and has a great kitchen with two terraces outdoors. It was very well supplied for cooking and entertaining. We loved our vacation there.

We had a lovely time in this very well equipped house. You really felt that you were living with the locals.
We were certainly fitter by the end of it as the kitchen is on the top floor with wonderful roof top views. The seating also enabled you to be outside but in the shade which worked really well.
Uzes is a nice place to explore with plenty of lovely restaurants .
New Zealand family in Uzes
Thanks very much for an enjoyable stay. We traveled a long way for part of our European holiday. A little anxious with traffic from Toulouse we arrived late, Annie was very accommodating, fresh cooled juice, water and wine awaiting us was a very nice surprise. As with previous comments the house is beautifully restored and well kept. Very warm, great linen, beds and bathrooms on all main levels. Short walks to shops and bakeries, we learnt to be up early and get market trips over as the town gets very busy. Our highlights included cycling to Pont du Gard and Nimes Arenes/Maison Carree audio/movie tours. We also thought the market at Bedoin bottom of Mont Ventoux was also very good. Our children could see how much fun summer would be to swim and jump off the rocks at Collias and rock climbing. The bakery franchise Boulangerie de Marie Bachere down the road is the best and cheapest way to prepare hungry kids for the day out. Thanks for the opportunity to stay and learn about Uzes.
We visited Uzes for five days in March 2017 and had the good fortune to stay in the lovely, beautifully furnished and equipped home. It was truly the perfect fit for us ( three American , professional women, friends from college days, on a get away from work and family).
The location is perfect for exploring the fascinating and gorgeous town of Uzes on foot--restaurants, shops, the center , etc.
Uzès is a beautifully preserved medieval market town on the edge of Provence. It is easily accessible by air (Nimes, Montpellier & Marseille) & train (Avignon, Nimes TGV/Eurostar). There are many local attractions to suit all ages and tastes, ranging from the famous Roman aqueduct called the Pont du Gard, to local wine-tasting in the Rhone & Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the Ducal château & cathedral, antique shops/fairs...and for kids, visits to the Haribou sweet factory, kayaking on the local river Gardon & the Bouscarasse Water Park. Uzès is known for its summer dance & classical music programs as well as the traditional festivals with bull-running through the streets. Local facilities are excellent, with an open air public swimming pool in the town & tennis courts, bike hire & great walks/hikes/runs. The local produce is spectacular and there is a wide range of restaurants and bars catering to every taste & budget. There are many interesting shops and boutiques in Uzès...with clothes, home decoration & jewellery well represented. Many of the surrounding villages are very beautiful and only 1 hour away are Mediterranean beaches, the Camargue area and the spectacular gorges and plateaux of the Cevennes & Gorges du Tarn. The famous towns of Avignon, Nimes & Arles are all within 45 minutes of Uzès.

Our aim is to provide a high end service: a spotlessly clean property on arrival, personal check-in and check-out, all house linen and towels provided, free WiFi, on-hand support during your stay and local recommendations to help plan and enjoy your time in Uzès. We can also arrange airport or train station collection, additional cleaning, grocery shopping, a chef at home and babysitting services. Please contact us with your request. Payment terms: 25% deposit required to confirm your booking. Remaining balance payable 60 days prior to arrival. All payments are to be made in Euros for the complete amount with any transaction costs paid by the guest. Refundable security deposit against damage: €500 which will be refunded within 7 days of your departure assuming no damage to the property or its contents. Changeover day: This is usually Saturdays with arrivals between 4-7pm and departures before 10am. We will be flexible whenever possible. Late check-in may be possible for a fee of €15.
