Why Katrina Brown chose Canterbury
For those seeking a peaceful retreat where birdsong is bountiful and an unspoiled countryside location is paramount.
What makes this Cottage unique
The valley has a magical quality, hidden away from view, and yet close to vibrant Canterbury and the port of Dover.

A Peaceful Retreat
A beautiful and well maintained cottage situated in a lovely location. We had a pleasant and restful stay here as well as being in close proximity to a number of good pubs and restaurants.
Our friends from the USA were captivated by the rural setting and we are certain that given the opportunity we will return here at some point.
Thank you so much for your kind words and it would be lovely to see you all again!
"Delightful" Hearts Delight
Very enjoyable stay in totally rural location in beautiful countryside. Convenient for visiting Canterbury, local pubs provided good food. Katrina is an excellent host willing to help with all our needs.
Peaceful and in the middle of the countryside
A lovely cottage, well appointed with everything you well need for a few day in the countryside.
We had a great couple of days with our two boys exploring Canterbury and other places. The property is a mile off the main roads and if you have the weather and like star gazing an ideal location.
Heerlijke vakantie in prachtige cottage!
We really enjoyed having you all to stay, thank you for choosing us! Please come back soon. Just a quick note to say that there is a faster train to London, its 56 minutes to St Pancras Station, but to go right into Trafalgar Square there's a slower cheaper train to Charing Cross. Take care Suus, Anna, Chris and Marjon, love us and Pip, Mini and Gershwin xx
There are many footpaths to enjoy directly from the cottage. To the north, the Black Robin pub, serving delicious food, is just over a mile's walk away on a track through woodland. To the east, up over a field and down quiet lanes, Barham has a thriving community shop with local food including ice cream made from Jersey dairy herd 10 miles away. There is a small play area in Kingston, and a couple more in Barham. Despite being very rural, the fascinating medieval city of Canterbury is just 7km away. With the amazing cathedral precinct at its heart, the city has many other historic features to explore on foot, or instead take a punt through Dane John Gardens and experience the beauty of the river Stour. The coast is readily accessible with Sunny Sands, a lovely beach in Folkestone. Enjoy gourmet food while you are there at Rock Salt, a famous restaurant. Dover Castle is a great day out, while the Pig, a boutique hotel, is a longer stroll from here but worth it for the fine dining on offer, only 5km, but booking is a must.
Heart's Delight is a superb location for a refreshing holiday in quiet countryside.
