Why Jeff & Julie Faraday chose New Forest

Good friends of ours purchased a second home in Lymington and whilst my husband was helping them with the renovation of their property he went on a bike ride and saw the cottage for sale. It was in need of a complete renovation - perfect project! We were lucky enough to purchase in August 2011 and haven't looked back since. We love Milford-on-Sea and the surrounding area, we spend as much time as we can at the cottage whilst having the satisfaction of being able to share the cottage with our guests. Everyone who stays leaves heartwarming comments in our guest book about the cottage and the area. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at Rosemary Cottage. We hope to be able to move down to the New Forest area at some stage but for now feel really lucky having the cottage as our cosy retreat to the sea.

What makes this cottage unique

Sea-view from top floor bedroom (new ensuite for 2018)

Recently renovated and maintained to high standard

Close to sea - 10 min walk

Village location close to shops, excellent pubs and restaurants

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for accommodating us for our wedding. It was fantastic to have a place so central for our needs. The place is fantastic, and my family enjoyed it very much.

Perfect base to explore the beautiful New Forest

  • 5 of 5

We would definitely recommend this property. We stayed with our 2 and 4 year old boys and we all loved it. The room on the top floor is really unique and you can see the Isle of Wight from the window! Very clean and well furnished/kitted out. Owners were really easy to deal with and responded very quickly to queries.

There are lots of attractions nearby, we went for days out to Lymington, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Sandbanks, Buckets a Hard and Peppa Pig World - all were really great days out.

A gem on the edge of the New Forest

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a week at this outstanding property. The cottage is spotless, beautifully appointed and very well equipped. Everything works! There were five of us and there was plenty of room.

A five minute walk will bring you to the village or to the sea with wonderful views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. A car is essential for trips into the New Forest and beyond.

It's a really lovely part of the world and if we come back we'll certainly stay at Rosemary Cottage again.

Perfect Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Myself and two friends had the most enjoyable and relaxing stay in Rosemary Cottage. I could quite happily live here!

We visited Lymington, Hurst Castle, Burley and driving around the New Forest which is just stunning.

We will definitely be back at some point in the future.

Thank you very much Julie and Jeff.

Milford on Sea
Car: recommended

Milford on Sea is a picturesque village on the outskirts of the New Forest and is ideally situated just a short walk from the beach and Keyhaven marina where you can enjoy nature reserve walks, the sunsets and spectacular views across the Solent. You will also be able to pay a visit to Hurst Castle which is at the seaward end of the spit. Just a 5 minute walk into the village, you will find the historical village green. In and around the village, there are plenty of shops and you will be spoil for choice with where to go and eat as there are some excellent restaurants, pubs and traditional tea shops and cafés to choose from. There is always plenty to do, this may include you enjoying cliff top and forest walks, bike riding, visiting the local sanding beaches, country rambles, bird watching, sailing, fishing and kite surfing. The village itself has many activities going on during the year which are very popular with the villagers and holidaymakers alike. Beaulieu Motor Museum and Bucklers Hard are among places to visit or a day trip to the Isle of Wight is just a short ferry crossing away from Lymington. Mudeford, Christchurch and Bournemouth are only a short drive away.
