In Bologna, a lovely apartment in the heart of the historic city center, and a short walk from the iconic Two Towers. You will experience a reality unknown to tourists in one of the most ancient and beautiful neighbourhoods of Bologna, in a building from the 17th century, where the apartment overlooks an ancient courtyard full of plants and greenery. The silence and peace are absolute as if in the countryside. Yet its central location allows you to reach the most exquisite Bologna has to offer in just a few minutes: CULTURE as expessed with extraordinary works of art and architecture, FOOD as can be admired in the wonderful shops and tasted in the many trattorias, and of course the quintessence of Italian FASHION available in the boutiques or outlets. The charming apartment shows the hand of the owner, with its attention to detail. The terrace offers the the ideal setting for breakfast or a candlelight dinner. Furthermore. a large kitchen, modern and functional, well equipped for cooking, a diningroom and cozy bedroom for 2 (bed = 140 cm x 200 cm - third bed for a child) a bathroom with the shower. The beautiful view from the terrace of the Bolognese roofs and the many churches will furthermore make your stay a memorable one.
Wow. I honestly can't begin to express what a wonderful time we had in this apartment. It's perfect. In every single possible way!
Marina is an excellent host. We just completely fell in love with her charm, her positivity and her exceptionally serene, kind and genuine attitude. She's an amazing woman.
The apartment could not be more spot-on in it's location. It's just a few minutes from everything in central Bologna and yet feels quiet, peaceful and secluded. There is something really special about the environment. It just exudes happiness and good things. I realise that I'm sounding like a bit of a hippy, but I could wax lyrical for hours about how truly incredible everything was. The apartment is well appointed and has everything you need - including some interesting art pieces. Although it's a small place, it is just right for a couple or a couple with a child. The way it is arranged makes it feel much more spacious and open. There is lots of natural light and that just adds to the feeling of warmth and calm.
The happiness I felt there was so intense that I actually cried when I left. That has NEVER happened to me before when I've left somewhere. My experience in Bologna will stay with me for all time. The warm and genuine people, the environment, the history, the food, the beauty and magnificence of what is just an exceptional city. Marina and the apartment play a huge part in that.
If you choose to stay here, then you are very lucky indeed. I feel blessed to have been there and I fully intend to go back. Grazie mille Marina. Vi inviamo tanto amore!
Clean, comfortable and in great location to explore Bologna city center or for day trips to nearby attractions.
Small apartment 3 flights of stairs up. Quiet interior courtyard view. Auto not necessary but there is parking for extra e10 per day safe and close. Owner very helpful. An enjoyable weeks stay.
There's no doubt this apartment is compact, but it is big in personality!
Loved all the personal decor touches.
Located in an atmospheric, characteristic historic part of Bologna- the apartment exudes charm and makes you feel more like a resident of the city and less like a tourist.
Outdoor terrace area is perfect setting to enjoy apperitivi.
Bed and pillows super comfortable.
Marina was a wonderful host, friendly, generous and highly engaging. She was a wonderful source of information about the local area as well.
We spent 7 days there and absolutely loved our stay- and meeting Marina was definitely a highlight!
This apartment is very charming, with each detail thoughtfully and artfully chosen. The rooms and little balcony are bright and cheerful, and friendly. The location is fabulous, within a short walk to the towers, medieval churches, shops, restaurants, cafes, and a coop market. You are very close to the center of things but also have your own little quiet retreat.
Our favorite part of our stay is Marina. We feel we have made a friend for life. She is a warm, thoughtful, wonderful hostess, and an excellent cook. We feel so lucky that we chose this particular apartment to stay in, and hope to return someday. Marina is a treasure.
We rented this property to use as a base for our travels in Europe. It was a great rental: bedroom, kitchen, appliances that worked, plenty of hot water and heat ( Bologna was cold in February), and an ideal location, great neighborhood, a short walk from the due tori in the center. Marina was a gracious and helpful host; having her in the apartment next door was perfect. She arranged for a 4:30 am taxi for our departure, and was even awake to check to see if we had forgotten anything (we had). Short bus ride to train station - day trips to Venice, Ravenna,
Ferrara and Dozza were easy. Of course Bologna is a great (delicious) city to get to know. I think the apartment would be too small for 3 people (there were 2 of us), but other than that, it gets a five star rating.
All the previous reviews are sparkling and they are right on.
This is my fourth apartment with Home Away in Bologna and my wife and i fell in love with it.
Maria is a wonderful person and vey helpful.
Fall is a great time. There is the jazz and chocolate festivals, ballet, opera and symphonies and all a short walk
The Duse Theatro is around the corner, up from there the best Pizzeria "Del Sole" and next store is a gellato shop, and ten minute walk to supermarket at the end of Via de Poeta.
Two weeks isn't enough time given the hassle of flying....plan on at least a month.
And read the reviews. They tell the wonderful story.
We had a great stay.
