Group of 6 women stayed. Could not have asked for a better experience. Raymond was a wonderful host
Perfect place perfect stay
We loved our time in Oia and in this special home. The locations of each of the rooms worked out well for our family of 10. Stairs going up and down to the smaller bedrooms were a bit challenging for my 78 year old mother in law. However there were two other options for rooms for her to sleep that worked out well. Raymond was perfect and prepared amazing breakfast for us every morning, all our children ate well and were ready for the daily adventures that awaiting us in Santorini! Thank you!
A peace of heaven in busy Oia!
You are close to the action but in your own little oasis of serenity. Fabulous accommodations for our group of 8. Raymond was super helpful and prepared a delicious breakfast every day.
Very attentive team. Perfect location. Great house. Would go there again and n a second
A wonderful stay in Santorini
Following a cruise in late July 2018 our family of seven stayed at Ilivatos for three nights and enjoyed our experience immensely. We utilized the entire place and each couple had their own space and bathrooms. The home was well equipped and quite comfortable. Fortunately it had air conditioning as the weather was hot.
As you may know Santorini is perched on the side of the caldera and is stunning in its beauty. Ilivatos is in a perfect location and position. It’s close to the ruins where visitors go to watch the sunset, along with restaurants , shops and markets. Some times we just sat on the patio absorbing the beautiful view and watching the crowds of tourists. Almost comically, it is visible in all the pictures of the blue dome and so were we when people took their photos.
The caretaker, Raymond was delightful and essential. He provided incredible help schlepping our luggage on both ends of our trip. In addition, each morning he brought and prepared our breakfast then later cleaned up the dishes and tidied the premises. We were thankful for all his help!
Be prepared! There are a lot more steps in Santorini than you can imagine. Steps are everywhere and that was the biggest challenge for the older members in our party. The steps are not even nor consistent in size and many are very steep.
Some very good restaurants nearby. If possible try Karma and Roka.
There were five cruise ships one day and because the walkways are narrow, the congestion makes moving slow and arduous. That made hanging out at Ilivatos that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Surreal Beauty in the Middle of the Postcard
We just returned from a wonderful four night stay at Ilivatos. Our family was a group of 10 — 6 adult couples and 4 kids ages 8-16. The accommodations were perfect for us with the three different units, four separate bathrooms, two separate kitchens, and three distinct decks, everyone had ample space. The decks were well furnished with the perfect mix of sun, shade cover, tables, chairs, and lounging facilities. And, the villas themselves were also perfectly and thoughtfully furnished. The rental comes with pick up and transport from your main arrival port to the Village of Oia — that was seamlessly arranged along with our entire booking by Irene. She was incredibly responsive to questions throughout our process. Our concierge and Home caretaker, Raymond, was terrific — from picking us up in arrival in Oia, to arriving each morning to make breakfast for our entire group, to offering great local recommendations, to arranging for our transport to the airport and carrying our bags up from the villa — Raymond’s service was 5+ stars. The unparalleled asset for Ilivatos is its location — it is in the heart of the incredible village of Oia — the place that everyone wants to be in Santorini (1m visitors a year come to the island that has a population of 7,000). Therefore, you are able to be in the prized spot, without having to deal with the crowds — just step through the door into Ilivatos, close the door, and you have the ability to soak in the million dollar views in private. And, if you want to explore the incredible shops and restaurants and swimming, well, then you are literally only steps away. To say the experience is magical is an understatement. Your initial arrival is literally breathtaking when you look out at the 270 degree view across the cliffs and caldera. If you look at every iconic photo of Santorini with the 5 blue church domes, flanked by cliffs and water, you see the Ilivatos villa smack dab in the middle of the picture. You feel privileged to be staying here. We can’t recommend this place more highly.
