My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at this apartment. It was clean and comfortable with more than enough space. The jacuzzi was an incredible way to end the day after hours of walking around and sightseeing. We used the transfer from the airport that the rental company (who are also amazing) arranged and both drivers were prompt and very professional. Emanuele checked us in and he was so nice and helpful. We left very early for our flight home and in the confusion (and exhaustion) my husband left his phone in the apartment. Emanuele is currently arranging to have it returned to us. He's the best!! We found ourselves asking why anyone would ever opt to stay in a hotel when this apartment is an option. If we ever return to Rome we will 100% be staying here again and we will recommend it to all our family and friends. We've stayed in many VRBO apartments but this one was truly special.
Location couldn't be beat. Everything was very comfortable, and Emanuele was very accommodating!
The apartment is close to a lovely square that has a great Market during the day. Fresh fruit & Vegetables, Pasta, spices and Olive oils can be purchased. At night the restaurants around the edge of the square are full of dinners. The apartment is so quite and peaceful you don't hear any of this and you sleep very soundly. A ten minute walk across the river you will also find the Trastevere area which is also work a visit.
This apartment was great, big for a one bedroom and the Jacuzzi is definitely a differentiation. Emanuelle (the property manager) was great, met us at the right time and gave all the support needed. The apartment is well located, and we were able to walk everywhere from there (vatican, trevi fountain, colesseum).
However, a few items on the apartment made me drop a star. The toilet definitely needs to be fixed, the sofa bed is OK if you have very young kids but for teens and adults, you will fell the bars all over your back. (this was highlighted by another reviewer and I can confirm as I lay on it). The apartment is on the 3rd with no elevators, it was not a problem for me as I am in shape, but it is quiet a hike and it will help to burn some extra calories.
Other than that, my family and I enjoyed the apartment and would definitely recommend it.
We had a great experience staying at Giglio. It is located where you can walk to the all of the main attractions in Rome. Emanuele met us at the apartment, checked us in and gave us a lot of insight for things to do around the area; eating and getting to the main attractions. The apartment had everything we needed for the stay. Would recommend staying for your visit to Rome.
The other reviews state nicely and better than I could. But in short we would book this apartment again without hesitation.
The listing was accurate, we had 2 boys 10-13 share the pull out bed and two adults in the master which worked well. The property was clean and well maintained, we walked every day and were able to hit all the highpoints of Rome easily from the apartment location.
This was our first time using Home Away / VRBO and it was a very good first experience. Our arranged driver was waiting at the airport and Emanuele met us at the apartment and helped us get our bearings. He was very thorough in showing us everything about the apartment as well as places to shop and eat that we would not have known otherwise. I really can't stress enough how much this experience helped our trip get started on the right foot. I was able to email him simple questions which were prompty answered and our return transportation was on time and efficient.
You are in the heart of Renaissance Rome, but not only: around each corner you find many traces of the ancient Rome.
The apartment is in Vicolo del Giglio, overlooking the wonderful Piazza Farnese. The square is a breathtaking place, you will immediately be captured by the massive and austere facade of the Palazzo Farnese. On both sides of the square there are two fountains made by reusing two large baths taken from the Baths of Caracalla, with the addition of the lily, symbol of the Farnese Family.
A few steps away is the famous Campo de Fiori, where since 1869 there has been a flower and fruit market every morning. You keep walking through small streets soaked of history and soon arrive to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
From this strategic area, you can easily walk to other extraordinary places such as Castel Sant'Angelo, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica, the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums... or, simply cross Sisto Bridge to explore the secrets of Trastevere and get a taste of real Roman life.
The whole area is safe and wonderful to walk around, full of grocery stores, shopping opportunities, restaurants, lovely wine bars and characteristic taverns.
