Cortijo Coscojica is a tasteful, secluded house nestled on a small hill with superb views of the surrounding valley and sea. The house is peaceful and tranquil yet close to the bars, restaurants and nightlife of Mojácar. Built recently on the plot of a ruin, we have taken great care to retain much of the original charm of that building whilst incorporating many modern touches. The floor is laid with handmade terracotta tiles throughout and the wooden beamed ceilings are high, allowing for large windows, giving on to spectacular views.
There is a 4x10 metre swimming pool with its own pool house, perfect for sitting in the shade, and there are sun beds for those that enjoy sunbathing. There is a gate between the house and the pool ideal for keeping small children safe. The extensive gardens are well tended and planted with many different species.
Neither the house nor the pool are overlooked by any neighbours, as the buildings are set in over 7 acres of land.
The house is powered by the sun. There is an extensive array of solar panels discretely hidden on the roof. Due to the size of the solar system you are unlikely to ever be aware that all the power being used in the house comes directly from the sun. Staying here will reduce your carbon footprint! The house has all the usual amenities, including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine. There are ceiling fans throughout the house. There is shade for two cars in the carport at the front of the house; there is plenty of room for more cars just below.
The kitchen is extremely light and spacious, with a lot of counter space and a bar with 3 stools. It is fully equipped with a dishwasher, gas oven, a 5 ring hob and large fridge/freezer. Other kitchen gadgets include an orange juice squeezer, Magimix and hand blender.
The best, most unspoiled beaches in the area are nearby. Beyond Macenas there are several beaches that have no buildings on them - although there is a beach bar that was originally built for the film 'Treasure Island' at the end of the track.
Carboneras and the Cabo de Gata Natural Park lie a 10 minute drive to the south. Carboneras is still very unspoiled and has a fantastic selection of fish restaurants as well as an lively market on Thursdays. Further on lies Agua Amarga, the first of many pretty fishing villages in the natural park, and some the finest beaches on the Spanish coast.
