Very good place to stay. This is our second time here. There is already a vast improvement by the new owners. Well done.
Excellent location, all attractions well within half hour drive. Literally on the doorstep to the forest. Perfect for our autumn getaway!
The cottage is very clean and welcoming: a true home away from home. its location is perfect for both sightseeing and outdoor activities. Annalisa Lambertini
We just loved it, very clean very comfortable, cottage was very well equipped we stayed in "IVY" we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, my daughter loved the indoor and out door play area
it was a bit warm because of the hot days in mid July you had so a ceiling fan would be great ah and a clock
John and Elaine made us feel very welcome,
it a great place for a quiet and relaxing holiday, we will defiantly book again on our next trip home
It is a lovely place. We stayed in Coachman's Cottage and it was quiet and comfortable. The area is peaceful and beautiful, with paths to the Forest of Dean. There are outdoor and indoor playing areas for the children, which they enjoyed a lot. The owners are very nice. I recommend this place if you like nature or need a relax.
Our cottages are located in a quiet courtyard setting in the ancient Royal Forest of Dean, three miles from the riverside town of Lydney, Gloucestershire. Away from traffic and noise, reached along our own private driveway, our cottages are perfectly positioned for exploring the abundant wildlife and fauna of the Forest.
Walkers and cyclists of all ages enjoy the miles of footpaths and cyclepaths which criss-cross the Forest of Dean. The Forest of Dean is a dog's paradise and dogs are welcome in several of our cottages. We also have some cottages which we keep pet-free.
The Forest of Dean is famous amongst keen cyclists for its excellent mountain bike and downhill trails which are being extended all the time. The family cycle path follows an old railway line, ideal for a leisurely ride for the whole family.
Children love Puzzlewood, Go Ape, Clearwell Caves and a ride on the Dean Forest Steam Railway or at Perrygrove Miniature Railway with its treehouses and secret passageways. The Forest of Dean is bordered by two rivers - The Severn - try surfing the world famous Severn Bore, and The Wye where canoeing, kayaking and boat rides are readily available.
The magnificent Tintern Abbey beside the River Wye, the Castle at Chepstow and the Cathedral at Gloucester are popular historic sites.
