2 bed Finca, sleeps up to 6 with private pool.

The Finca has a fully equipped kitchen, complete with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, cooking utensils, and a fridge freezer and separate fridge. The sitting room is cool in summer and a cosy retreat in the cooler months and has a wood pellet burner complete with a supply of pellets. There is seating for up to 6 people on two sofas, one of which folds down into a double bed. There are two bedrooms, one with en suite and a door that opens up onto a separate seating area for two, which is ideal to sit and watch the sun rise. There is also another large bathroom area with toilet, sink and shower and has a separate utility area for the washing machine.The second bedroom is upstairs and has two single beds and bedding to be used as either single or a double option. The upstairs bedroom has stunning panoramic views of the mountains. Bedding and towels are provided for up to 6 people. The terrace is large with plenty of seating complete with table and 6 chairs. There are also 6 sun loungers for the pool area and an outside BBQ.

Tinca Finca is set in an idyllic location overlooking the surrounding countryside. It is a charming rustic Finca which has been sympathetically restored to a high decorative standard. It boasts a beautiful garden on a number of levels, leading down to the private pool. Guests are welcome to pick the fresh oranges, lemons and almonds from the trees in the garden for breakfast and sit on the large terrace overlooking the three whitewashed villages or perhaps take shade under the almond tree on the lower level and watch the world go by.

The property is only a kilometer from the historic village of Archez with its attractive stone walkways and Roman bridges and the area is prime for walkers who wish to visit the national parks or simply take in the views of the Sierras Almijara and Tejeda mountains. Horse riding and mountain biking is also available from Canillas de Albaida which is only a 5 minute drive.

Competa is another attractive moorish town and is a beautiful place to visit to walk around and has a number of restaurants, bars, banks with ATM's as well as a medical center and supermarkets and numerous other shops. Once in Competa, it is recommended to park up in the main square and walk to the main plaza where you can enjoy tapas in beautiful relaxing surroundings.

If you wish to venture further then the coastal towns of Torre del Mar, Torrox and Nerja are only 30 minutes by car, bus or taxi. Torre del Mar is well worth a visit for its attractive promenade and numerous boutiques and restaurants and Torrox and Nerja are far more cosmopolitan and far livelier especially during the evening. The Nerja caves in particular are certainly worth a visit.

The property is within 30 minutes of the main motorway which will lead you to either Granada, Seville of perhaps slightly further on to Gibraltar.

Beautiful house and views

Lovely house with good facilities and well appointed. In fact even prettier than the photos show. Only downside was the heat in the evening/night we went at a hot spell and found it difficult to sleep at night. Would love to return in the spring and do some walking.

Relaxing and peaceful break in stunning mountain setting

This was the perfect peaceful break in the hills. Gorgeous Tinca Finca was great for reading by the pool, cooking on the BBQ and never tiring of the ever changing view of the surrounding hills. We found a couple of lovely walks (Fabrica de la Luz along the stream was charming in the early morning) and enjoyed exploring Canillas and Competa. Would highly recommend a stay here for a restful holiday.

Charming villa with all you could ever need

4 of us stayed in this villa in Sept 16. The photos really dont do it justice.

It is a beautifully renovated finca in a semi remote location with the most stunning views you have ever seen. It has all mod cons, beds were really comfy, bath towels and beach type towels. The kitchen is beautifully fitted out.

The house is really cool in the daytime. There are lots of different places to sit and admire the views.

The pool area is gorgeous and it is a decent size. We spent many a day in the pool and just sitting round it's edge taking it all in.

There is also a BBQ and lots of seating on the gorgeous terrace.

The closest village is Archez and it is lovely. It is walking distance, Prob around half hour but when we stayed it was too hot! However you can get a taxi for a few euro.

All the restaurants Kay recommended were great and we had some lovely meals in nearby competa as well.

Kay was really helpful and left us some drinks, bread eggs etc so we didn't need to rush out on our first day

If you want a totally relaxing get away from it all holiday, don't hesitate to book this. We are so glad we did and we will revisit for sure. We were gutted to have to leave!!

Beautiful place with a stunning view

We spent 9 days at Finca Tinca and all I can say is that the pictures do not do the place justice.

From the moment we walked through the gate onto the terrace we were blown away by the view, the peace and quiet and what we were going to do for the next 9 days here. The roads to the property are very winding and not the most relaxing to drive on - not for the faint hearted if you're a nervous driver. However journey's end make it worth while.

They was everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and Kay the owner had provided eggs, milk, juice, bread, water and wine, plus there were a lot of store cupboard staples like salt pepper oil sauces sugar and coffee. There are two fridges so plenty of room for provisions. We stocked up en-route at the little Andalusian supermarket in Canillas. There is a bigger supermarket in Competa 10 minutes away. The main bedroom is comfortable and has an en suite plus there's a floor standing fan which we really found useful. No hair dryer provided but then I didn't need one. There's also a floor standing fan in the lounge which is useful as even though there is a constant breeze it still get's very hot.

Sitting on the terrace for meals was a delight, and we spent a huge amount of time just enjoying the peace and serenity plus of course the ever changing view. The pool was great and used frequently throughout the day as were the sun loungers. The only negative comment we would make at all would be the unsuitability for young children due to there not being railings along the side of the pool - drunk adults may also have a problem. We used the built in BBQ a lot, picked lemons from the tree in the garden and also the almonds and rosemary. We didn't feel the need to go out and about as it was so lovely just to sit and take in the views.

We loved the Finca, we loved it's quirky steps and it's ceiling beams inside, in fact when it came to leave we both felt incredibly sad as it had become like home. We would say that if you like to do things everyday then maybe this isn't the place for you as to get anywhere takes a while and the roads take some getting used to. Even the coast which is 30 minutes away is a tiring drive. If you want total chill, peace and utter relaxation then this is for you. Leave the world behind and just sit, sketch, read or swim - the perfect spot .

Kay was a delight and we thank her whole heartedly for coming to meet us and spending time telling us about the area. Thoroughly recommended!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the lovely comments! I have considered putting railings around the pool but decided against it due to the fact that they would spoil the lovely views from the pool. The local roads are winding but almost all have barriers now.

Thanks to Mark and Kay for letting us stay at their amazing house. The views are breathtaking everyday, whether it was sunrise, sunset or during the day. The welcome pack was really appreciated. The villa was clean and tidy. If you are looking for somewhere to just chill, this is the place. There are all the amenities you could need, including a BBQ. The recommendations for the local restaurants were perfect. The food, whether in restaurants or at the supermarket, was reasonably priced and wonderful. We hope to return again next year.

Totally perfect!

The finca had everything we could possibly have wanted for a relaxing week. The temperature is just perfect, even at midday, being several 100m's above sea level. The best part is the view - when you are in the pool it almost seems like an infinity pool! Also, the huge terrace is amazing for evening drinks.

In terms of activities; we decided to chill out but there are some beautiful villages and the national park just a stones throw away.

Tip: Don't buy too much perishable food at one time - just one modest fridge/freezer.

Beautiful rustic Finca with private pool and breath taking views across the gardens and surrounding mountains and countryside. Overlooks the picturesque, moorish villages of Archez, Canillas de Albaida and Competa with views of the Sierra Almijar and surrounding national park. 1km walk to Archez , to local bars and restaurants and supermarkets. There are also a number of good quality restaurants in Canillas, about 3km away or the livlier Competa where you will find a full accompaniment of shops, bars, restaurants as well as banks with ATM and medical centre.

There is a choice of attractive beaches at Nerja, which is more of a tourist destination with many bars, hotels and restaurants as well as the stunning Nerja caves, which are well worth a visit. Torre del Mar is a more Spanish beach resort and has been built around a large attractive promenade with many shops and supermarkets. Torrox and Algarrobo are less than half an hour drive away and have a popular water theme park.

The nearest golf club is Baviera which is only half an hour drive down the mountain to the coast just the other side of the main motorway. Tinca Finca is only an hours drive from Malaga Airport with about half an hour on the A7/E15 before turning off for a half hour drive up the beautiful winding road which takes in the stunning scenery as you drive up the mountains past Sayalonga and through the attractive village of Archez. The Finca is easily accessible from the main road and has plenty of parking within the gated property. It is also fully equipped and maintained by a friendly English couple who have lived in and around the area for the past 20 years and can tell you all you need to know about the area.

The property is cool in the summer months and makes a cosy retreat in the cooler months with a wood burning stove and a number of portable heaters if required.
