About Keith

We lived in New Mexico for a number of years before getting our place in Angel Fire. Love the small town with access to so many great outdoor activities: skiing, biking, fishing and more.

Keith purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Keith chose Angel Fire

We purchased our home in Angel Fire after camping and hiking in the area on a number of occasions, since we found the Moreno Valley reminded us of the mountains of Colorado (with lots less crowds!) - where we had lived for a number of years. As avid skiers and outdoor enthusiasts, we knew we would enjoy having a special place away from the hustle and bustle, and close to outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and biking.

What makes this cabin unique

Herds of elk can often be seen out our front window during their migrating and rutting seasons, and we promise you'll see the Milky Way as you never have before on clear nights in the Moreno Valley.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed the tree house very much. We especially enjoyed listening to the elk calling down the canyon to the meadow in front if the cabin. That was a super neat experience. The house was cozy and efficient, the floor pops and creaks so we knew when someone was up in the night. Overall, cool place.

Quiet, peaceful stay

  • 5 of 5

It was a nice cabin with a great view. We loved the quiet, peaceful surroundings. It was about a 40 minute drive to Taos, but the drive was beautiful!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the wonderful note, Dana. Sounds like the peace and quiet you found in our little corner of the Moreno Valley was just what you were looking for. Your group was great and we look forward to hosting you again if your travel plans bring you back to New Mexico!

Relaxing get-away

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed the location. Quiet and relaxing. Away from town but easy drive in w/ a beautiful view from the front window. The granddaughters enjoyed exploring and we saw plenty of wildlife walk past the front window. TV is upstairs in the loft room with the bunk beds. VCR did not work which was unfortunate as we brought the old Disney tapes from when our son was little to share with his daughters. Excited to see a telescope but eye piece missing so not usable.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your wonderful review, Diana, and glad you enjoyed your stay. I am delighted you saw the wildlife out our front windows - the elk are always a treat to see.. We're appreciate the feedback on the VCR; and am sorry it was not operable - we'll check it out when we are there next month. It sounds like a past guest may have misplaced the eye piece before you arrived, too. We have found it in odd places (in the toy box, in kitchen drawers, etc.) upon returning to our home. We'll be sure to leave a note instructing future guests to keep the eyepiece with the telescope. Thanks again for choosing to stay at our home in the Moreno Valley.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

Although there was no snow for our stay, the cabin was very cozy and accommodating.

The cabin has beautiful views and is very close and convenient to the Angel Fire Resort area and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We stopped there to find a family members Medal of Honor brick and were surprised at just how close it was!

There was an owl in the tree right in front of the cabin and my kids thought it was very cool!

We would highly recommend staying here for anyone who wants to ski Angel Fire or any surrounding resorts.

Owner's Response: We are delighted to hear you had a great trip and stay in Angel Fire, Wendy! Enjoying the wildlife and views are always a favorite part of our vacations in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, too. If your future travel plans include the Moreno Valley, we'll look forward to having you as our guests once again! Keith PS Now, if there was only a way for us to influence Mother Nature when it came to that white powdery stuff....

Great winter holiday

  • 5 of 5

For our first "snow" vacation the cabin worked out perfectly. With young children (6 and 4) for a first time in snow there was enough of a slope to sled down right outside, and for experienced skiers the Angelfire Resort slopes are only a 10 minutes drive away. There is also excellent hiking right out the back door with loads of privacy.

Owner's Response: Delighted that all went well and that your family enjoyed the sledding and hiking, Wayne. It was a pleasure having you and we hope we can welcome you back when it's time for your next snow vacation!

This was a nice little house, very clean, with a pretty view out the front where we watched deer graze in the mornings. The spiral stairs to the loft were a favorite with the kids!
