Very clean and homely, amazing hosts make it a home from home experience!
One desperate need of some R and R as a family, we stayed here for 4 days with our two boys, aged 10 and 7, and our staffy dog Jasper. Craven Arms is a lovely town, and finding the property within the town was easy once we gave the owners a call. It's set back off the main road, on the owners land. We were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly, and some beautiful goodies in the fridge. The garden is completely secure, for escapee children and dogs alike. The owners keep their driveway gate shut, which made us feel very safe and secure. The owners dog is super happy and quickly made friends with us all.
The caravan itself was immaculately clean, with fresh bedding and towels provided. It felt larger than the usual caravans inside generally, but especially the shower cubicle (hubby was comfortable and he is 6ft 3!) The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge freezer, microwave and oven. The pantry items were well stocked too, tea, coffee, salt, pepper, condiments etc. The hot tub was exclusively ours for the time of our stay and the tub itself is incredible, always warm and the kids especially loved the jets and fountains and lights. All undercover too so no problem if it rains. The conservatory part of the van is of a huge help; it keeps all the muddy shoes and paws out of the caravan itself; handy for storing garden games/boots/ coats/hoodies etc.
We had some unkind weather, but since there is an x box inside and board games aplenty the kids were well amused. The pictures on the advert are exactly how the property is, but the garden pictures honestly do not do it justice. It is enormous with lots of room for the kids and the dogs to play! The night we had without rain was beautiful to sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the Red Kites and Buzzards flying around the skies. Lots to do in the surrounding area, walking especially. Be sure to visit Tuffins supermarket only a 2 min drive away from the caravan - a mixture of artisan local produce and standard supermarket fare, with a built in pound shop! The butcher especially is fantastic. Special note for dog owners, this is a truly dog friendly home, even providing dog bowls and throws on the sofas for them to use.
Ann and Ray, the owners, looked after us so very well, nothing at all was too much trouble. We are already looking at diaries to see when we can rebook. Perfect retreat away from city life for a few days and thoroughly sad to be home!
We couldn’t possibly wish for a better review, but these were extra special guests. A truly lovely family including two boys and their dog Jasper who we were so sad to see go.
