3 BR, 2 BA Home Loaded With Character And Charm. Close to downtown St. Paul.
I am a Saint Paul native who loves this town! A former landscape designer and faculty, I now am a partner in a consulting group that works primarily with nonprofits.
Trudy purchased this House in 2012
Why Trudy chose St Paul
This property is a jewel. Stained glass windows in almost every room, hardwood floors and trim, and near downtown St. Paul but still in a residential neighborhood. I have loved this house from the moment I first saw it.
What makes this House unique
Summer: Imagine yourself in one of many rocking chairs, rocking gently in the shade of the porch, listening to the sounds of the nearby fountain and the song birds. Flowers are everywhere. The scent of roses drifts by. Is that a hammock under the treehouse? Why yes... Fall: You find yourself lingering by the light of the outdoor fireplace, glass of wine in hand as you breathe in the crisp air. The scent of the last of the garden's herbs drifts by. Cherry tomato from the vine? Why not... Winter: A white carpet of snow covers the gardens. Near the front walk, the Little Free Library - a miniature of the house - shelters books for neighbors and guests alike. The gourmet kitchen beckons you to fire up a rustic pizza... Spring: Hundreds of colorful tulips, daffodils and crocuses burst their way through the warming soil to greet the sun, surrounding the house with waves of bloom. Songbirds begin to make their way back north, stopping by the backyard to bathe in the pond and eat from the feeders. Coming inside from the rain, you put on a pot of tea and pick up one of the many magazines and books available. Is that a claw foot tub? Oh yes!

Lovely house in quiet St Paul neighborhood near The Mounds
If you like to cook, this is the house for you. Tastefully decorated vintage home with great attention to detail. All appliances, furniture, linens, etc are high quality. Beautiful yard with owner on site in carriage house behind the garden. We will definitely return!
Quaint fun purple house in St Paul
Trudy was available and helpful when we had questions, very friendly! Great location with parks and trails nearby, loved the view from the Indian Mounds across to St Paul. I was comfortable and would definitely recommend Trudy’s house to all, many thoughtful extras including coffee, tea, milk, cream and snacks😍
Great urban retreat at the little purple house.
My wife, myself, and our 6 month old son stayed at this house in early june of 2019. It was convenient to nearly anywhere in the metro, right off of I-94 and was only a few blocks away from beautiful views of the Mississippi river and downtown St. Paul. The house is beautiful and well stocked. She has an amazing backyard and parking was ample in front of the house. I think the only downside to the house is that two of the bedrooms are quite hot if you are planning on traveling during hot weather. The house does have AC, however if being an older house and quite tall 2/3 bedrooms upstairs where quite warm, however fans were provided which helped.
We had a pleasant stay at the purple house. Very cozy home. Trudy is a truly gracious host.
cute and cozy
Had a great time during our St. Paul visit. Cute neighborhood, charming house!
Lovely home in a lush country garden atmosphere
Loved our stay at the little purple house. Everything we needed was there and it truly was home away from home. 5 minutes drive to the city. Looking forward to booking again next year.
Sue and Mike - it was great to have you stay at the Little Purple House! You are absolutely welcomed back again! All the best - Trudy
