Lovely well kept house perfectly located next to Colchester castle park

We had a great experience here - Youseph the owner communicated really well, had everything ready for us on arrival and was really helpful with advice. The house was perfect for our family (4) with plenty of space, nice and cosy and warm during December and everything we could need catering for ourselves for the week we spent there. Having castle park round the corner was perfect for our kids and it was a very short walk into the centre of Colchester. All in all a great stay and we'll book again.

Fantastic home, GREAT location, HIGHLY recommended

We spent 3 months at this property while my husband was doing a sabbatical semester at the University and I was working remotely from my job in the US. Our twin boys were 4.

It's a very comfortable and functional home and we had a great stay. Youseph was a great, prompt, attentive and approachable landlord. The kitchen was well stocked and we did a lot of cooking while there. The location was AMAZING. Castle Park is beautiful and the Castle Park Playground, right behind the house, is the biggest, most amazing playground we've ever seen.

The downstairs closet was very well stocked with balls, Frisbee, an awesome marble run toy that our boys (and we!) loved to play with. There was a selection of DVDs as well.

The washing machine and dryer were very convenient, and when we arrived the house was well stocked with soap, detergent, etc. When the dishwasher broke, Youseph had it replaced immediately.

The dining room has a French door to a path that leads to the backyard, and there is also a door at the back of the kitchen to the yard. There is an adorable little sun-room (conservatory, I guess?) outside. I sometimes took conference calls from the backyard- WiFi reached out there and was pretty good throughout the whole house.

We found the beds perfectly comfortable, and plenty of sheets. Decent storage space in the bathrooms in medicine cabinets and under the sink.

The only negative thing I might mention about the house was that there wasn't much art on the walls, which made it feel a bit barren when we first arrived. We ended up hanging a lot of the "art" our boys made in school, which made it homer. The front room has only a small rug and leather couches (plus some handy side tables and a display cabinet), which made it feel less cozy at first, but the plus side of leather couches in a rental is you don't wonder what's hiding in the fibers. We did end up spending a considerable amount of time in the room, working on laptops and watching TV.

I can't say enough good things about the location of the house. The street is lovely, there's a great local pub right at the end, and Castle Park and the High Street are an easy walk. You can also walk to the train station for easy access to London. (9 min walk to Colchester town, slightly longer to Colchester where you can get the express train.) Also easy walking distance are many museums, cafés, restaurants, etc. All in all, a great place! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to a friend!

A cosy house in ideal location.

A lovely surprise of a Christmas hamper

awaited us upon our arrival at this well placed house. The property was well maintained and very clean and fully equipped for a family Christmas, with a modern kitchen offering top of the range facilities. The house was very warm with a constant supply of hot water and the use of a washing machine and tumble dryer were a bonus. The house is well situated with only a short walk to Colchester Town and the Castle Park and Gardens were a delight to walk through. The Owner is very hands on and will try to provide any extra things you may require. The only slight problem is with Parking but this may have been more of a problem due to the Festive period. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
