A luxurious three-bedroomed property, Kittiwake sits in a row of quaint houses at the end of a pretty street which curves towards the waterfront in Flushing. A short stroll away from the amenities in this lovely village, this house is an ideal choice for families seeking a seaside holiday in contemporary comfort.
Recently refurbished, Kittiwake has been furnished to an excellent standard and thoughtfully decorated to bring the outside in to give a light, airy feel throughout. The owners have used off-whites and creams on the walls and chosen painted wood or grey Cornish slate floors to create a fresh contemporary backdrop against which carefully placed items of stylish furniture and pieces of work from local artists can take centre stage.
Step through the front door of this characterful cream property and a generously proportioned hallway with quality Cornish slate floor leads you into a bright, spacious living/dining room. The white painted floorboards give this delightful room a relaxed, seaside feel which is further enhanced by cosy soft furnishings and nautical bits and pieces, adding individuality and splashes of colour. An inviting seating area has been created here, with a huge corner sofa and two matching armchairs ensuring there is room for everyone to snuggle around this room’s cast-iron wood-burning stove. A flat screen TV with Freeview and a Nintendo Wii have been provided for evening or wet-weather entertainment and WiFi is also available for guests during their stay at Kittiwake. A cleverly defined dining space towards the rear of this lovely room offers the perfect opportunity for relaxed family meals, with a large dining table and upholstered chairs ensuring that you dine in comfort.
Kittiwake’s kitchen is delightful: A spacious, bright room with sleek, light-reflecting white units and grey Cornish slate tiled floor. Modern integrated appliances including a full height fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer are provided. At the centre of this light room is a circular table with four modern chairs; a perfect alternative dining space for informal snacks during the day. French doors open out onto a decked seating area with large wooden bench, uniting the interior and the exterior of this unique property. A few steps down from this suntrap to the side of the kitchen lead you into a larger decked courtyard. Surrounded by a pretty white wall which provides a good level of privacy, a table and chairs offer the ideal spot for relaxed dining alfresco. Particularly useful for family holidays are the side gate offering rear access to this property, and the outhouse; a perfect place to leave wet, sandy gear to dry after a busy day at the beach.
Attention to detail and an eye for design continue to be evident on the upper floor of this beautifully decorated house, where pebble-coloured lamps and sea-blue paintings contrast against painted white walls. The master bedroom with king-size bed is particularly special, with its stunning, timber-clad vaulted ceiling creating a beach hut feel. Great care has been taken to ensure that there is adequate storage in this room and a built-in wardrobe and attractive white chest of drawers have been provided for your use. The comfort continues in the luxury en-suite bathroom with under-floor heating and heated towel rail.
The second and third bedrooms in this property both benefit from twin beds and are no less luxurious than the rest of the house. They offer plenty of living and storage space and have been beautifully decorated to match a nautical theme in whites, grey-blues and neutral tones.
Across the landing, which offers useful additional storage and drying space, is the family bathroom. This spacious room has been stylishly decorated with Cornish slate floor and white tiling with pretty blue mosaic detail. Under-floor heating, a large bath and separate corner shower and heated towel rail all contribute to the overall impression of high quality luxury which has been achieved here.
Kittiwake’s owners have thought of everything to ensure that even larger families holiday in complete comfort: Luxurious bed linen and towels have been provided for guests’ use in each room and a travel cot and high chair have been provided for those with young children.

what a suprise we found in Flushing. The house is very cosy and beautiful decorated. The bedrooms are large and the beds were good. We made lovely walks in the surroundings such as 'Trelissick parc' and 'Lizard point'.

Flushing is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect. It has quiet streets lined with traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community.
Flushing has two pubs and a stunning seafood restaurnat all within stumbling distance plus a friendly well-stocked general store. It also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it’s own dog-friendly beach.
A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.

Weekly changeover day is Saturday.
An additional charge of £25 per dog per week will be applied where appropriate.
Rental rates include quality bedding and towels. We make no additional charges for Winter heating, Wireless Broadband, etc.
