This lovely apartment is fully equipped and furnished to a very high standard. Gated entrance with 24hr security.

Free wi-fi.

Fully air conditioned (hot & cold).

It has a superb balcony that can be accessed from the living area and both bedrooms.

The sitting room/dining room has seating for 4 persons, 32' TV and DVD and leads out onto the balcony with views to the sea and the delightful town of La Cala de Mijas.

Fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, hob & oven and microwave.

Master bedroom with king size bed, fitted wardrobes, en-suite with overhead and wall jet shower.

2nd bedroom with 2 single beds, fitted wardrobes and shower room.

Communal pool with toilets/changing rooms.

Paddle tennis (free and bookable at the entrance reception).

A few minutes walk into the lovely town of La Cala de Mijas with its bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.

There is a Lidl supermarket 2 minutes walk from the apartment that sells freshly baked bread daily and had fresh fish, meat and cheese counters and all your everyday grocery needs.

There is a good bus service from the end of the road where the apartment is situated that takes you to the popular towns of Fuengirola and Marbella and the city of Malaga. Buses run every 30 mins to Fuengirola and Marbella and every hour to Malaga.

There is also a great children's playground only 5 mins walk from the apartment and a smaller playground and large Pirate Shil located on the beachfront.

The local market (held each Wenesday & Saturday) is only a 5 min walk away too.

A car is not necessary.

Traveling to La Cala de Mijas, Spain

Malaga International Airport is the closest airport, only 35 km away from the property, and is served by many airlines such as Monarch, Jet 2, FlyBe, BMI, Ryanair and EasyJet to name a few.

Getting to the apartment:

Private Taxi:

Local pick up and drop offs can be arranged on request and are payable locally. Please ask at the time of booking.

Airport Taxi:

On exciting the airport terminal, the taxi rank is located on the right hand side.

Public transport - train and bus combo:

The train station is a 2 minute walk across from the airport terminal - just follow the train signs. Please purchase a ticket to Fuengirola from the machines on the ground floor entrance. Trains run every 30 minutes to Fuengirola from approximately 6:30am to 11:30pm (times may vary during Bank Holiday periods) and tickets cost under €3 per person. On arrival at Fuengirola, exit the station and cross the road and take the street on the right. In around 100m you will be at Fuengirola Bus Station. Please purchase a ticket at the ticket office before boarding bus no 220 to Marbella. Exit the bus at the stop AFTER La Cala de Mijas town centre. You will see the Lidl supermarket on the right as you approach the stop. The apartment is located on the street to the left of Lidl.

Car rental

A car is not necessary but if you do choose to hire a car, pre booking is recommended.

Golf

The apartment is situated in the Golf Valley with excellent course including the famous La Cala Golf, Mijas Golf, Miraflores Golf, La Siesta Golf, Santana Golf, Calanova Golf, and El Chaparal Club all within 10 minutes. La Noria Golf is within walking distance of the apartment.

Hi, I'm Margaret. I'm originally from Scotland but now live in the beautiful south west of England.

I've worked in a bank for 28 years and in my spare time like to keep fit, travel and socialise with friends and family.

Why Margaret McAulay chose Mijas area

We searched along the coast of Andalusia for months looking for the right apartment in the right place. One day whilst out viewing we stopped by chance in the lovely town of La Cala for lunch........our search was over!

What makes this apartment unique

La Cala has something for everyone.......beautiful blue flag beaches, a coastal walkway stretching almost 6 Km linking you with all the other lovely towns along the Andalusian coast, restaurants that serve everything from tapas, traditional Spanish cuisine, International cuisine to fine dining. the town is very child friendly with a great children's playground and also a wooden Pirate Ship and playground located directly on and beside the beach.

superb and cannot fault anything

Travel to la Cala every year as love it, 1st time in Alamar and it's now the one I'll be booking every year , immaculate interior, everything needed, in fact I'd like to move in !!! Mags has been so helpful and friendly, I've stayed in other places and felt like you haven't been able to enjoy it as a holuday home , but here it's been like a breath of fresh air , loved the pool, gardens, and do near to all the amenities in a lovely area, will be back hopefully twice next year ... Thank you Mags for making our holiday special ...will check dates this week for a return

Beautiful clean apartment

We have just returned from 2 weeks staying in this beautiful apartment (me, my husband & 2 children, age 13 & 10) & I just want to thank Margaret & Lorraine for all their help & attention to detail. The apartment was very clean & furnished to a very high standard with lovely m&s bedding, towels & crockery. It was a pleasure to book with Margaret & her communications are great. Lorraine, the key holder in Spain, was so helpful & nothing was too much trouble. Thank you ladies!

Absolutely brilliant just what we needed

Don't know why I am writing this, if you are looking at this apartment you will regret not booking it, but that will be better for us to rebook.

Our intentions are to go back.

Apartment Location 5star

Quiet, 5 minutes from the local supermarket, beach within a short walk, village centre where all the best restaurant are within a comfortable evening stroll.

Bus stop for the major towns by the supermarket.

Apartment 5 star

Clean, comfortable, well equiped kitchen, everything you need.

1st time we ever felt like eating in on our holls, as the supermarket was on our way home we shopped and ate in three times.

Resort, 4 star

Comfortable every thing you need, beach, shops and nice restaurants, but not commercialised.

Will we go back DEFINITALLY.

Lovely Apartment

My husband and I have stayed at this apartment many times. The location, layout and facilities are superb. The property is clean, well maintained and well managed. I have allergies and Margaret and Lorraine could not have done more to ensure I was in an allergy free environment. I don't normally submit reviews, but having seen that my husband Stevie B accidentally left a star rating of 4 instead of a 5, I felt I had to let potential renters know that the apartment is a definate 5*. We will definitely be staying at the apartment again. Thanks Margaret, we really appreciate your high standards.

Excellent

We have recently returned from our first visit to this lovely apartment and it certainly won’t be our last. The apartment was very well equipped, clean and inviting and the standard of fixtures and fittings was excellent. Situated on the third floor (with lift), it has a lovely large terrace which catches the morning and early afternoon sun. Once the sun disappeared over the building it was too cool to sit outside, but in high season this would be a positive benefit! There is a Lidl store at the foot of the road which has a wonderful selection of fresh bread, meats and fish.

It was only a 10 minute walk to the town which has a great selection of bars and restaurants. The new boardwalk between La Cala and Calahonda is wonderful and ensured that we reached - and exceeded - our 10,000 daily steps.

All in all a lovely, relaxing holiday in a great apartment. 10 out of 10.

Gorgeous apartment and lovely location

My 5th, or possibly 6th, stay at this lovely apartment. I took some friends with me this time and they were all as delighted as me, by the cleanliness, uber clean, and the uncluttered feel. At the same time Margaret had provided everything she feels people might need, books, DVDs, games, an information book, sewing kit, plasters etc etc. The beds are comfortable, the terrace is big and gets the sun most of the day, plus the very cheap Lidl is a 5 minute walk away: loads better than the Lidl's in the uk, the fish counter is to die for and the little town only a short walk away with a fabulous market on the way.

Any problems, the English lady who looks after it for her sorts it in a jiffy.

Don't know why I'm giving such a positive review as that will probably result in more people wanting to rent it and reduce my own chances!

I'll definitely go back, if I can get in!

La Cala de Mijas is a beautiful Spanish town located right in the heart of Mijas Costa. Once a small fishing village, its cobbled streets are lined with white washed houses and palm trees. Its 'blue flag' beach is amongst the best on the Costa del Sol and comes complete with its own Pirate Ship playground and a beach playground, both of which are a big hit with the kids when they tire of the ocean.

The town of La Cala is a 10 minute stroll and has a great selection of Spanish and International bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. It also has a selection of shops, 4 supermarkets, banks and a Pharmacy.

Local buses run every 30 min to the nearby resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola and hourly to Malaga. Coach trips are also available to Gibraltar, Nerja and other locations.

Every Wednesday and Saturday you can visit the local market (situated less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment) where you'll find a variety of local produce, jewellery, clothing and gifts.

The apartment is an ideal location for golfers with 6 courses within a 10 minute drive and 1 within walking distance.

A Lidl supermarket is less than 2mins walk from the apartment and serves freshly baked bread daily.

There are so many facilities in the local area that you will never run out of things to do, with or without a car.

Within 10 minutes of the apartment, is the town of Fuengirola which boasts a fantastic water park, castle, zoo, the Parque Miramar shopping center and a vast array of bars, cafes, restaurant, shops and entertainment. 5 minutes further along the coast you'll find the town of Benalmadena with its famous marina, Tivoli World theme park and Sea Life Aquarium.
