Everything we hoped for

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It is a beautiful and tranquil location. The house and grounds were all superb. With plenty of room in the clean, spacious house, a large veranda and attractive, well maintained garden there were lots of options to keep the kids entertained. During the 18 days we made good use of the facilities including a couple of barbeques, some water fights plus some relaxing in the sun.

It catches lots of sun, but is pleasantly cool, as it is higher up, compared to the nearby beach locations.

The whole house is very well furnished and maintained. Danilo and Marina were incredibly accommodating, determined that our stay was comfortable. Marina kindly mentioned the San Marino festival (there are many dates during the year and especially July/August) which we thoroughly enjoyed. The live music, entertainment with medieval fighting, archery tournaments and stilt running on different nights captivated the kids, but also made it a romantic setting.

In the day we enjoyed the miles of sandy beach and took in Rimini at our leisure. There are lots of very good, well priced restaurants. Other fun days out included Oltremare, the aquatic dolphin park and Aquafan, a large water park.

In the evening we often took the short drive (about 15 minutes) up the neighbouring mount to the fortress city of San Marino. We sampled some lovely food and wine whilst taking in the breath taking views of the surrounding countryside. It seems easy to understand why ancient armies were easily thwarted after marching up such an incline. Whilst the car parks are located nice and high be prepared for a few steps and steep walkways. It is well worth the effort. The architecture and shops along most of the curious streets mean that there is no need to race up.

On the first evening we took the cable car located at a mid-level car park which whizzed up the steep incline in probably less than a minute! This reached a high scenic point close to the Towers.

All in all the numerous positives and great memories easily outweighed the negatives of which there was really only one. The area seems to have some biting insects. I recommend to anyone to bring sprays and to use them liberally both on the beach and also in the garden. That’s not a complaint about the property as it’s just nature.

Thank you to Marina and Danilo for being so thoughtful with everything. They were always charming and we could not have been more thrilled with their idyllic setting.

Very nice holiday house

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice and roomy holiday home to enjoy the italian countryside. The house is roomy and has good sized sleeping rooms and kitchen. With he 3 bath rooms there is space enough for 3 families. There is a large terras and beautiful garden to enjoy with a nice view to the see. The house was very clean and the garden was very well maintained. We were greated by the lovely owners. Their service was really extra ordinary, in an emergency the owner is at the house in minutes!

If we ever visit this region again we will certainly book this lovely home again.

What you have been looking for.................

We visited Italy with 2 other couples and choose this home through the previous reviews and our correspondence with the landlords, Marina and Daniello. All of our wishes came true when we got there. The house was everything we wanted, needed, asked for and MORE!

The lovely warm feel of the house, the landscape and the scenic views from the hill were spectacular! Marina and Daniello made us feel so welcome from the first greeting late Friday night to the last night of our visit. They were so accommodating with our needs and we so enjoyed their company. We will never forget our lovely trip and our new friends. We made great memories while we were there and will definitely be returning.

We visited Venice and Florence though each trip was a full day of driving and touring but we mainly enjoyed visiting the many small sites and places in the San Marino Republic. We got the great opportunity to be there when they did the Ceremony of Regents (April 1 and October 1 of each year) in San Marino. It was a magnificent ceremony and loved all the wonderful traditions.

The house had all the amenities we needed. We purchased groceries as we chose to cook and eat at the house more often than eating out, though there were plenty of restaurants and eateries to choose from in the small neighboring cities and also in Rimini, a short 15 km drive. The kitchen was full furnished as was the living room, dining room, bathrooms and all the bedrooms. We enjoyed the peaceful landscape and the quiet of the area. It was a joy sitting out on the veranda eating breakfast or just drinking wine and enjoying the views. The property was gated so we always felt safe and secure.

I believe we are the first All American tourists that have stayed at the house from the United States. Though our Italian was minimal, Marina and Daniello were great at translating our limited Italian and it was fun trying to "fill in the blanks" with them. Email correspondence when preparing to go to Casa Mirabell worked well as it would translate our information as needed. The landlords answered quickly and responded to all of our questions. They also made suggestions to enrich our trip to Italy and their Republic.

We will never forget our great trip to Italy and San Marino. We made and will always cherish our new Italian friends and will be back to visit again.

If you chose to stay here, you will NOT be disappointed. Casa Mirabell and its owners made our trip more special than we expected!!

Wonderful people, wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

Marina and Danilo are wonderful people and I could not speak highly enough of them. From the moment that we booked online they were very helpful and nothing was too much of a challenge for them. They were genuinely interested in our group and where we were from rather than treating us as just another client.

The house is absolutely beautiful with stunning views across the Italian countryside. Please do yourself a favour and stay here, you won't regret this.

Cheers from Danny

We are happy to help our guests to happily spend their time at Casa Mirabell especially when these are extraordinary people like you and your boys. As long as there are people like you who spend free for others, we are all the richer and we have real hope for a beautiful future. A warm hug from Marina and Danilo.

Wonderful place!!!!

  • 5 of 5

A very nice house in a wonderful landscape in San Marino, Italy. Everything clean and wellmaintained. Very nice owners who helped oss and we could call them every time. A lot of activities and attractions around, but one needs a car or mountainbikes. 15 kilometers to the sea and perhaps 10 to the town of San Marino which is really wonderful. A lot of wineyards to visit and really good food. We found a restaurang even for vegetarians and with gluten-free food!!(Hotel Dogana, only 1,5 kilometers walk). A wonderful garden and if you want you don't need to do more then shopping and laying down in the garden with a good book and a glas of wine. Amazing!!! Have recommended this house to some friends.

We were two families who stayed in the house for 5 days, the last three days one more family arrived. All in all, we were 11 people, and that was no problem what so ever. Plenty of space and several toilets meant that it did not feel crowded. Every morning we had breakfast on the lovely terrace on the second floor with views all the way to the sea.

The house is perfectly located close to a ot of attractions.

The house offers a cozy space that was clean and in good order when we arrived. We went by train from Sweden, and thus had limited packaging capabilities, so it made it easier for us that the beds were made and towels were in Place.

Marina and Danilo could not have been better hosts, they were constantly within close distance and responded quickly to the few questions we had in an exemplary manner.

We can highly recommend others to rent this lovely house.

We would finally like to suggest a local restaurant nearby called Ristorante Squadrani, good food and friendly staff and no tourists besides us, autentico Italiano :-).
