Relaxing, Beautiful Views
Gary met us when we arrived at his very clean up-to-date small house situated in a vineyard. He gave us wonderful tips About the area, his house was extremely comfortable, and the bed was great.
Wonderful place to visit naramata
Great. Gary was wonderful. Place was great. Would go back
Little house on the vineyard
The cottage was exactly like advertised light and airy, clean and immaculate, very private and with beautiful views over the vineyards.and lake, we enjoyed every minute of our stay
Beautiful scenery and comfortable house
We stayed in Naramata for 2 nights and the house and location couldn't have been better! The views from the patio are first class and there are plenty of wineries within walking distance. Would recommend 100%, we'll definitely be back!
Spectacular cottage with a view
The property was more than we hoped for! The house was private, very clean, neat, and very well equipped. Outdoor seating options were great, including on a large deck off the living room. Our hosts were very accommodating and informative about the property. We were pleased with the little touches they added that made our stay special (including a private tour of the vineyard). We would certainly stay again.
As everyone else has noted, better than advertised.
Place is solid, better than you'd expect and better than you'd ever see at this price point. Been vacationing in Naramata for years & usually stay in the village centre. This was a nice change. If I were to choose anyplace not in the centre this would be it. Previous reviewers have more than covered the property and Gary. I'll add some other deets.
Property is about a 30 minute walk to centre of village, coffee shop and grocery store. But a longer walk back because of the climb. It's about 10-18 mins to walk to the distillery on Naramata Rd (lunch, dinner), 20-28 mins to walk to the pub or pizza shop on Robinson. All except the distillery are a longer walk returning to the property (distillery is down hill on return). Of course if you drive travel time drops to a couple of mins. Serendipity winery is a five min walk & chef bongo is now coming lunch there. Naramata only has a few places to eat and surprisingly for not being on that centre of the village, you're close to a few. Getting to the beach is more of a schlep, you can take the back way past kettle valley winery but I still wound up driving.
Place is quiet. It is next door to a water treatment plant, I thought it was wine storage, you really don't know it's there as your spend almost all you time on the other side of the property enjoying the views and there is no noise, smell, nothing. Basically it serves as a useful landmark. Neighbours are nice, not always case in BC. In addition to usual kitchen stuff Garry has filters for the coffee maker and bbq gadgets, he was kind enough to have the ice trays full. There's a fire pit but use depends on BC fire situation, Gary will give you the ok or not. He has folding changes to putt around fire pit and logs and kindling. Beds were super comfy, plenty of towels. The place is in (smack up against) a working vineyard, so there is some farm activity all around, but low key - it's not soy or corn, no huge tractors or manure spreaders but people working the vines. That was a plus for me. The whole place was perfect, clean, tight, quiet, stunning views. And Garry was a pleasure, there to greet but then gone, though he lives in other side of vineyard, not absentee renter. Another plus.
