Fabulous Escape

  • 5 of 5

Very well thought out and well equipped with a wonderful terrace that has sunshine all day long (weather permitting, obviously !!)

With it's own gated parking and setting amongst the trees, it feels very private and relaxing.

We've stayed in many self catering properties over the last 7-8 years - this is probably the favourite out of all of them.

A Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week together with our family who live in London. It was a magical stay, and we had the chance to get to know our 8 month old grandson much better than we ever could on our weekend visits from our home in Manchester. The gardens and set up of Pirates Lookout provided beautiful safe surroundings where we could enjoy being together, but the benefits of two bathrooms and bedrooms meant we had some luxury as well.

Some excellent places to visit, all within 30 mins; Hastings, Rye, Battle with outstanding views from Fairlight village.

It's the first time we have taken a property rather than a hotel stay, and it was fantastic.

The owner has thought of everything and the property is everything we could have wanted and then some.

The Pirate Lookout

  • 4 of 5

We recently enjoyed a week here with friends ,exploring the area but also taking advantage of the peaceful location and grounds. The cottage was as described, complete with roses round the doors. The balcony from the upstairs bedroom was a particularly lovely spot to enjoy breakfast, listen to the birdsong, watch the wildlife and start the day in relaxed mode. The owner was particularly helpful and we were made to feel very welcome.

Perfect get-away for all the family and super doggie friendly!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful break over the Easter weekend with our 2 boys ages 10 and 7 and our lovely doggie!

Pirate lookout was everything we could've possibly wanted for our family break - it is a magical place in a perfect tranquil location, close to both Hastings and Battle but away from all the noise and bustle. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, feeding the horses and following the path through the forest to the coast. We were excited to have our own gate to the property and a huge garden all to ourselves with balconies and lovely outdoor space. Thank you so much to Mrs Masters for our big Easter Egg and biscuits on our arrival - our boys were dizzy with excitement! The facilities were superb - we couldn't honestly have asked for more; the brilliant coffee machine, 2 luxurious deep baths and power showers that we loved. It is also thoughtfully stocked with lots of basic provisions such as, tea bags, coffee, oil, tin foil etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave!

Beatiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Shabby chic meets French style décor, clean tidy and the lovely flowers, biscuits, milk etc were a nice touch and very much appreciated - has everything you could ask for - the garden is secure for dogs and you feel very safe behind 2 sets of wrought iron gates. Great location with Hastings Country Park 5 minutes up the road you have some great walks from the door step, Rye and Camber sands just down the road and many other places to visit.

Even though Cynthia lives next door she respects your privacy, but was there to help when we needed it.

Very relaxed, we were extremely lucky with the weather and even sunbathed on the balcony which was lovely - if there is a downside and you really struggle to find any it would only be the bumpy unmade road on the approach, other than that perfect and we will return.

Countryside England at its best

  • 5 of 5

We love this place! It is quiet, cosy and comfortable. The terraces and the roses are amazing!

There is anything you need for self-catering, but there are also nice little restaurants in nearby Hastings and Rye. You will find is also a little charming restaurant open from 9 a. m. to p.m. only twenty minutes within walking distance.

We have had amazing walks starting directly from the cottage to the breath taking coast.

Do not forget to visit Bexhill with its elegant beach promenade - it will take you not more than a half an hour by car.

If you want to make bicycle tours take the way along the beach promenades or choose the landscape around Rye - the tours are very lovely.
