This modern apartment is located close to the bustling street of Daguerre with its many restaurants. It's central location (city hall in the 14th arrondissement) is a perfect starting point to discover Paris and visit all the tourist attractions.
The bright and quiet apartment is located on the 5th and last floor of an historic building with an elevator. It was completely renovated in 2012 and furnished with all the necessary comforts.
The living room is equipped with a TV and a sofa bed for 1 person (100 cm bed). The separate kitchen has all the modern appliances (microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, etc...) The bedroom overlooking the courtyard has a double bed (140 cm) as well as lots of storage space. From the bedroom, there is a shower room with a shower. The toilet is separate from the shower room and the bedroom, and is in the hallway. There is also a large closet in the hallway. The apartment has wireless Internet access.
If you are arriving by train, you are less then 30 minutes from all the Parisian train stations from the Denfert Rochereau metro station.
If you are arriving by car, there is paid parking close to the apartment (Alésia or Montparnasse, a 5 to 7 minute walk).
My wife and I stayed here for 18 days in January 2016. Great apartment, quite spacious by Parisian standards, with big front room overlooking a quiet street in Montparnasse, a small but functional kitchen, a decent sized bedroom, and a bathroom with a good shower (always important, i.m.o.). Fifth floor (sixth for US visitors) but has an elevator. The owner Jean Claude is extremely friendly and helpful, always answering email questions immediately.
Location: excellent, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Cimitiere du Montparnasse, fast Metro connection to all parts of the city at nearby Denfert-Rochereau. I regularly walked from apartment to the river, and it only takes about half an hour. Rue Daguerre is just one street away, and its a vibrant area lined with lots of boulangeries, bistros, restaurants, market stalls, three supermarkets, chocolatiers, etc. Montparnasse as a whole is not as overpoweringly elegant as St Germain or the right bank, of course, but it's still pretty handsome, there are hardly any tourists, you get a real feeling of living in the city like a Parisian. Plus, it's rich in cultural history too (many writers, painters, musicians lived and worked in Montparnasse).
Overall: I absolutely recommend this apartment, and would rent it again in a heartbeat.
I stayed here for three weeks while teaching in a short term study abroad program, with my husband and young son joining me for the last two weeks. We can't say enough good things about the apartment and our experience with the owner, Jean-Claude. The location is ideal, one block from the cafés and shops of Rue Daguerre and about a five minute walk to the metro. I felt safe in the neighborhood even on the occasions I had to walk home alone late at night. The apartment itself is clean and bright, and the bedroom and living room felt spacious for our family of three. The apartment is very well furnished, including high quality towels and extra bed sheets and blankets, a small but fully equipped kitchen (already stocked with essentials like salt and pepper, coffee, bottled water, cleaning supplies etc.), and lots of little extras like Paris guidebooks, a rotating fan for hot days and even a cooler for if you want to go on a picnic. The shower room is extremely nice, with both rain shower and movable shower heads. The building itself is quiet. The elevator is the smallest I've ever seen, but it was greatly appreciated after long days touring the city. The wifi is reliable, although the signal is strongest in the living room. As for the apartment's owner, Jean-Claude, you won't meet a kinder individual in all of Paris. He answered all of my questions promptly, before and during the visit, and he returned our deposit in less than 24 hours. I can't recommend this property enough! Excellent location and value. Merci beaucoup, Jean-Claude!
We rented this apartment for the month of June. The furnishings are rather spare. We both love to read and we ended up reading on the bed as it was really the only comfortable place to relax. It was fortunate that the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was quite lovely, with a spacious shower. The separate toilet was really small and my tall husband had a hard time getting the door closed. But the price was great and it allowed us to use our money on other things. The 14th has a great neighborhood feel to it, without the tourist trappings.
At first I was a bit taken aback by the size of the kitchen; I love to cook and we had planned on doing so as we did not want to eat out every night for a month. There were some basic kitchen equipment missing like a pot large enough to boil pasta in, and a decent sharp knife. But we quickly learned how to maneuver around each other in such a small space and we made many great meals.
The highlight of this rental was the location. It was a quick walk to the metro station to go anywhere in the city you wanted to go. And the Rue Daguerre is amazing, a quick walk to the most wonderful street market for the freshest of fish, homemade pasta, fruit and veg, bread, wine, all right there. We went up every day to get our food for dinner that night. And of course great cafes and bistros for that most pleasant of Parisian pastimes, people watching. It was a wonderful place to stay and get the real feel of the city without feeling like a tourist. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to stay in Paris.
At first I was skeptical about this apartment. It was the lowest price we ever paid for a place in Paris, and we have been visited Paris over 25 times. Yet, this one bedroom on Rue Liancourt, felt like home for more then a week. We settled right in. The neighborhood is where we would choose to buy when that time comes. Dozens of excellent, local restaurants are within walking distance, and these are the places you come to Paris for. Tourist traps are far away from this neighborhood, that feels like a village. Cute bars, excellent boulangeries, patissiries, are all within a couple of blocks. The apartment itself is not luxurious, if that is what you expect. There is a washer, but no dryer, and a drying rack is the only methodology available. The toilet room, seperate from the bathroom, is very tiny and shortens reading time. (your wife and proctologist will be happy) There is no oven, but there is a stove top, micro wave, and some advanced machine that looks like a large toaster oven. But who needs an oven when you are on vacation in Paris? Let the chefs cook for you. The bed was okay and the furniture all right. The shower room is very nice and comparable to a good hotel. We are rather choosy and self indulgent and never felt deprived. Jean-Claude, the owner, is very honest and quite sympathique. The money we saved on this apartment we spent on some of the greatest meals of our lives. Je t'aime Liancourt, Je t'aime Daguerre, Je t'aime Paris.
Spent one week in this clean, spacious apartment and tried to rent it for another week! It's in a great location just a minute from the Rue Daguerre, a street full of restaurants and food markets, yet is extremely quiet. The pictures are accurate. The owner is very helpful and friendly, he even tolerated my poor French. J'espère revenir l'année prochaine.
Property was very clean, comfortable and in a quiet location. Exactly as described in the advert, and good value for money. Ownder is very friendly and helpful. Definately recommend renting this flat. Superb.
