This cabin is totally amazing. We loved our time there and did not want to leave. The kitchen is well stocked. The bed is comfortable. The winding road to get to the cabin is well maintained and an adventure in itself, wondering what was around each turn. The beautiful scenery, the sound of the creek, and the complete and total privacy! If you want to get away and enjoy the beauty/solitude of nature - this is the cabin you are looking for. The owners are responsive and strive to make your stay the perfect getaway. Cabin is close to entrance to Great Smoky Mountain park and Blue Ridge Parkway. Secluded Cabin Perfect for Active, Outdoor Family
We have 3 boys and a dog and we spent much of our time at the cabin outside, down by the creek. Everyone loved our evenings playing in the creek, cooking over the coal grill, and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. The covered deck was also put to good use for grilling on the grill and relaxing in the hot tub. The location is secluded and private, which we loved, but close enough to drive to for activities. We went to Maggie Valley, Bryson City, Cherokee, and Gatlinburg TN during our stay for many fun excursions. The inside was only used for bathing and sleeping!
The cabin is very cozy and comfortable and has all of the amenities anyone could expect.
The kids absolutely loved the stream and hot tub. The owners care very much about our stay and provided all the necessary information as well as suggestions of things to do in the area. Even though cabin is secluded, it is well situated to Cherokee, Maggie Valley and the rest of the Smokey mountains!!!
Lovely setting, well stocked, very comfortable.
I booked Running Bear Falls to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday. Needless to say, Mom was thrilled with her gift! Guests were my husband and our two puppies. We all had a blast. This home is off the beaten path, as stated in the description, and when you reach it, it's literally like entering another realm! The road to the cabin from Highway 19 has some beautiful views along the way ~ peaks and valleys and wildlife! In our three trips up and down Plott Balsam Road, we saw many chipmunks, an array of butterflies, and, much to our delight, a pileated woodpecker sitting on a split rail fence! We saw mountain laurel, mountain azaleas, pink flame, and many other plants and flowers. It was absolutely gorgeous. The cabin itself sits on what is the most beautiful piece of property I have ever had the pleasure of spending time on. The porch of the cabin faces a stunningly beautiful Hornbuckle Creek. The area had a lot of rain in the weeks prior to our visit, which made for a strong, bold, rushing stream! We all played in the creek, and my mom commented "This is the creek I have dreamed of playing in since I was a kid!". We spent a lot of time down by that lovely creek, and enjoyed every minute of it.
While in the cabin, we had all the comforts at home. The kitchen truly is a "cooks kitchen"! We didn't want to leave our own paradise, so our first morning there, we headed into Waynesville, went to Ingles, and ate all but one meal in the cabin and lacked for nothing. The knives were sharp, the pots and pans were all in great shape, there were plenty of utensils, the cabinet was loaded with every spice imaginable. It was so nice to be able to cook whatever we desired! The beds.....COMFY! Wow, I slept like a baby for 5 nights in a row.
In sum, if you desire to get away from it all in a mountain paradise, you need to book Running Bear Falls! You will be so glad you did!
We had a wonderful vacation at Running Bear Falls cabin. The cabin was great and the area is beautiful. The owners were great to work with and made sure we had a great stay. We hope to return soon.
